I appreciate that he and Pysyk have been tasked with a much more difficult role and they both looked very good doing it against a good team desperate for a win. But, If Pysyk was the one with the ill advised pass through the middle of the ice to a Pitt player at our blue line for a break away I would be very down on him also.

He's not selling his entire stake and will stay on as CEO from what I've heard. Sounds like he will be a minority owner. edit. With all the money in and around Pittsburgh (The Rooneys?) finding someone that is local as a buyer would seem a better way to go.

I believe that this a much better run F/O than we have seen in years going back past Reiger. I'm not down on Reiger at all considering the little bit of help he had to work with and thought he did very well. But as a whole this F/O should be our best since???? It may be considered a back handed complement to some (considering past performances) but these guys came in with a big hole to climb out of player/coaching/mentality wise and seem to have righted the ship.

This where you and I differ. I believe not sacrificing long team gain for short term hope is not tanking. The price of a true #1 goalie would be a large amount of picks and prospects for a team that is still rebuilding. Gain us a few more wins, no doubt. Long term success? Highly suspect. If there was a middling NHL goal tender available for very little cost, then absolutely bring him in. As it stood over the summer no one like that was voluntarily coming to Buffalo. Now? I really do not like Mathews. There's no logical reason why I have this animosity towards him. Everything I've read about him concerning his personal life he seems like a really decent guy off the ice. But still..... I would really like it if he got smacked into the boards heavily a few times and comes out of the game a -6. Oh, and given a really good face wash. I hate his smirk.
