I absolutely agree with you that Anderson wasn't a full time starter at his age and he wasn't go to last the season. I expected him to miss an occasional week here or there, or a road trip for maybe a total of 15 games over the entire season. He was durable up until he got hit with a puck in the neck, you did not predict that.

I know this one guy that uses his phone all the time and he has a very good excuse, I'm at my desktop...

Casey missed 36 games with a wrist injury(?) Anderson has missed 34 games from a puck to the neck/throat. Tokarski has missed 21 games from covid. That is 91 man games lost not because of lack of skill, conditioning or medical staff. If the Sabres are to be snake bit this is the year. To date they have a total of 265 man games lost. If you take out the 91 from these three players they are at 174 man games lost and middle of the league.

Other than Mitt's conditioning I thought that line had some nice o-zone time in an really bad game. I don't see Bjork being here next year so he may be playing for a trade. Eakin is an UFA at the end of the season, he may also be playing for a trade. @Thorny Jankowski is the ideal fit to center Zemgus and Kyle.

He has repeated stated that this season will be about learning and growing. Skinner out late in the game with a 1 goal lead is a horrible move if your only goal is to win the game. Donny has done that more than once. It's gone a long way in growth and trust in the locker room. Have to believe everyone in that locker room knows that Skinner is the least defensive player in the league, but if Skinner gave his all and did what was asked.... It's all a coach can ask.. Play hard, make mistakes, learn and grow from rookie to vet. The vets need to buy in as much as the rookies if not more.

The expectations where the same as last year if not lower considering our player losses. Last year we had 15 wins in 56 games played, if we made it a full 82 games that would be around a total of 51-55 points for the season. This year we have 13 wins in 41 games played with 33 points, if we can finish out strong and end the year with 66-70 points that is a huge improvement.
