  1. Please, these statistics are from a government that will use the same paint brush to paint a great economy or a low unemployment rate. The biggest crux is the grandma welfare, where the 18 year old is actually able to give the checks (money ) to another to raise their child, usually the grandmother. This why on occasion you can see women in their 50's with 10 children, none her own, getting government funds to raise the children. I don't bring the subject up with the teachers, they just won't talk about it, it infuriates them. I personally am like much of America, know the system is broken, the war of poverty will never be won. It's an ideology, much like religion, either you believe or you don't.
  2. It's called welfare in most cases. Money for producing offspring. In most cases around here it starts at age 17-18. I have four friends and a friend that is a father of 2 girls that teach in inner city schools. It's eye opening to hear the stories of how its generational and the abuse and total neglect of the children.
  3. Not paying people to become terrible parent(s), and in most cases just to produce offspring, and have no want to become a parent, only to get the money they will receive from doing it.
  4. First half Messy Balls became second half presentable Balls after a shower and some man-scaping. Those are the Balls I now have a mental picture of playing for the Sabres in 15-16 if he is signed. Don't want you getting the wrong idea of which Balls I have playing. :P
  5. I can see Meszaros being an inexpensive insurance player for a young D-man like Zadorov. If Zadorov comes to camp out of shape, has a bad camp, they want him in Rochester, then signing Mess is not a bad option. Better still, would be to sign a UFA that is better than Mess.
  6. Twitter in essence is someone putting random thoughts out into cyberspace for others to read. If two people on the entire face of the earth have the same random thought and post it on twitter, it now becomes fact and a good source of information ? Believe it or not, I have some doubts about this.
  7. No. I'm partial to ditches, and never tire of a good ditch metaphor. :nana:
  8. An auto corrected Drane Edit, I continued reading, the horse is pulp... and GODD is good, beer is great, and people are crazy... not sure if those are the exact words to the song, but it's what the little voice in my head kept singing after reading the last page.
  9. He doesn't have the fastest slap shop.... but its a HEAVY shot.
  10. Bet on .. 1. His insurance was paid up? 2. That he had anymore than state minimums for coverage? I'm going with no on the first, and the rest doesn't matter.
  11. Cliché Time! Now, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black....
  12. No One disses Chuck Norris and walks the same ever again. Everyone in Texas knows this to be fact. To be put on a list with The Pink Ranger, might also mean the loss of use of a hand....
  13. It would never work in PA, we barely have roads wide enough to paint the lines on, let alone a shoulder to drive on.
  14. But Texas is the only state where I've seen a driver pull over to the shoulder (never slowing down) and allow a car behind him to freely pass without having to change lanes. RIDE'm COWBOY!
  15. I was thinking more like business preferred.
  16. Actually the pick up truck accelerated to block the Camaro from entering the left lane then slammed on his brakes as to not hit the car in front of him. P/U truck gets instigator call....
  17. My bet, unless he has a GPS/log system that shows him (the semi driver) greatly reducing speed before the Camaro leaves the road to pass, he will be sited for careless driving. Careless is a one tier down from reckless, in the same classification as going 25 mph over posted speed limit. 3 points on his license, if he losses his job almost no one will hire him with a careless driving citation. If the truck behind him backs him up on greatly reducing speed to get away, he has a chance also.
  18. In accidents that I have been involved in if someone is legally drunk the other vehicle, even if at fault, will be dealt with almost no prejudice. The rationing is, the drunk driver should not have been on the road, and if they weren't, there would be no accident. If either the Camaro or P/U guy where drinking, all other parties will be seen to have little to no fault, and not expect any citations.
  19. That is exactly what I have been thinking. He gets another shot to win it all with a great young team at the NCAA level. The Sabres get see what they have under the age of 23 already signed.
  20. Unfortunately much of the blame will be put on the semi-truck driver. He is a professional with a professional driving license, his failure to notice, react and diffuse the situation will result in him being a large portion of the blame. All those with professional licenses know you are held to a high standard. CDL drivers are no different. The pick-up truck and car will be charged with (or should be) reckless driving. It is a similar charge as a DUI or school bus infraction, large fines, loss of license, possible jail time. If any one was injured, charges for some form of assault could also be filed. A little back ground on CDL driver standards... A truck driven by a CDL registered driver went through a controlled intersection (fancy talk for one with a traffic signal) while the signal was green for the semi at the posted speed limit. The truck was broad sided by a car that ran the red light, with multiple witnesses. The CDL driver admitted to doing the posted speed limit of 45 mph. The actually speed limit through a controlled intersection in the state of PA is 20 mph, and all commercial vehicles must yield to on coming traffic. The CDL driver was cited for failure to yield and speeding. He got a lawyer, fought and eventually got the charges reduced, not dropped, reduced. The driver of the car was charged with running the red light. The driver of the cars' insurance company paid the claim for the semi truck. Insurance rules of who's at fault cannot be used to judge how police will cite DMV code. Another note, if the semi truck was placarded for hazardous materials, no matter who is at fault, any accident with more than $5000.00 damage, and or a vehicle being towed or an injury occurs the State Police must do a accident report. It is extremely detailed and will be sent to the Federal D.O.T. for further review and possible fines. Pennsylvania has it's own regional "CSI" team for these accidents.
  21. I have never watched an entire basketball game, not my thing. So I googled, and Roy Williams doesn't agree with you. Also thank you for La Commedia e Finita ! I learneds some coultures today... And GODD for bringing the subject up.
  22. I'm sure he remembered! Guys never forget stuff like anniversaries, and we hate the silent treatment! Congratulations you two and have a great day!
  23. Nolan held Hodgson back Ruff held Vanek back
  24. You're all north of me (all be it not far for some of you), but that is all I was asking for! I think Halifax is about due east of Montreal, not Buffalo, so about 250 miles north give or take of WNY?
  25. I didn't like everything he posted, but that's a little extreme no?
