    Thanks Eleven that was a nice find. My take, from 1950 till late nineties, goalies have very little changes in blocker, mitt, leg pads. There was an slow evolution in masks and body armor. From~ 1999 til now. Wow. There's a whole lot more of all that. Everything must be 50% bigger.

    Pittsburgh first year after tank years 58 points Chicago first year after tank years 88 points. If my history teacher is right, we should be some where between the two at the end of the season. More than likely closer to the 58 point range given the Sabres more closely matche the post tank team of Pittsburgh.

    Can we start placing odds on WC's ability to call starting goalies? Nothing against you Wild, as it's a crap shoot every game and your educated guess is better than mine, but still, there needs to be odds placed. We will just consider you the house. We can do an under - over- even 1. he gets more than one right...over he gets less than one right.....under he gets one right.....................even I'm calling under.... Quick and Johnson start. BTW- did you get NS's blessing before posting that random act of blasphemy? It would have been the right thing to do. Right now NS might be faced with the moral conundrum of blocking you for that, but then he will miss out on some of the best GDTs.

    Made it home last night to watch the end of that game. Got to see 2 replays. Then went to NHL tonight to watch more replays of that play. That was a Dom-nificent save.

    I hope you had a great time! It's 3:15 pm here, 50 deg F, mostly sunny. I'm going to call the work day off early, and watch the sun go down with a little stress reliever. A menial chore that is my sure fire headache reliever. Yes, Yes it's time to cut and stack fire wood. I sense the envy coming through the my computer from SS'ers of using a loud and stinky tool to fling small wood shavings all over ones self, all while trying not to cut off an appendage. Then bending over and picking up the wood and stacking it till your back cries *UNCLE*, all to cure a splitting headache. But I have looked forward to it all day. And to me it's fantastic.

    Never knew that existed! We have't gone to see a movie in years because we hate the typical theater experience we have here. Well this should be in the awesome thread that Mrs. Verret would do this.

    I've been doing the Nolan version of statistical study. My eyes tell me their 3 rd and 4th lines are on par with the defense. Flurey has quite literally stood on his head and played some of his best goal tending of his career for a one month period. It's why the are in the playoffs right now. If Fluery goes to norm, and nothing else happens, their fighting for an 8th spot. Love to see what your statistics tell you. I spelled Fluery 2 different ways, not sure either are correct. But I'm lazy and leaving it.

    I'll give you having a few bad games against quality opponents may not be considered a declining trend, But... The Sabres played one of the few teams last night that was lower in the standings then they where. Did they look as good as Calgary?

    I have no doubt the team has progress from last year. How could it not by subtraction of certain players alone. What is troubling is the regression of the past 7-10 days. They look all around worse than they did to start the season. That's the regression that troublesome. Each week it was 2 steps forward 1 and a half back. But win or lose we saw progression. Who can say that for the last 4 games? Every player that was here last year that we though was going to have a brake out year because they just needed some *quality* teammates is under performing. Moulson-Gergs-Ennis-maybe even Foligno and Desloriahoo. Why did Nolan get more out of these guys with a horrible surrounding cast? On defense, it appears Pysyk meant more than we realized. They appeared to be performing much better than anticipated at the start of the season. Now with him out they are what we thought they would be.

    The second time I read this I heard the voice of Marlene Dietrich reading it. Especially the the bolded. It was that or Madeline Conn when she played Lili Von Shtupp in Blazing Saddles. Either way D4rk may have an unwanted cyber stalker :ph34r:
