The Sabres are 2-3 points out, but have been winning games they shouldn't be and are surely due to return to a *normal* win percentage. An injury to a core player a week before the trade deadline. There are 3 teams ahead of us and 1 one point behind all trying for that Eight seed. 2 of the teams had injuries early in the season and are really making some noise after the all star break. These scenarios say sell at deadline and get good return. When not to sell. When the Sabres are 2-3 points back with the next closest team 5-6 points back. The Kane Eichel line looks like it really starting to click 2 weeks before the trade deadline. We've been losing games on puck luck, and it's due to turn in our favor. You can feel the run coming on.

I don't know if anyone has said. All I remember reading was that about a 1/3 of his contract would not count against the cap. I assumed it would end with his contract expiration.

Yes, and better part of the summer trying to familiarize myself with Jack Eichel. I was not implying a closed hand beat down from Mr. Eichel. Mr Eichel in my mind would make sure Jack told the truth, took his punishment and would not skirt his responsibilities to his team, family and friends. You theorized a Mother emotional guilt trip (AKA in this neck of the woods as a Catholic guilt trip) and I believe that to be true. She would have Jack hand writing letters to anyone that knew him apologizing for his behavior (completely basing this off of my personal experience). The NCAA (if there was any involvement) would have a closed door meeting, a nice short statement written by Jack's attorney, then hide for a couple weeks from the press. I'm not sure that is owning up or taking responsibility if there was involvement that would be acceptable by the Eichels. I'd take the NCAA route, bypass Mom and Dad any day. I assumed correctly it seems to me, that most regulars on SS understood my one sentence of the fear of Mr. Eichel by Jack is that of disappointment. The most common fear in a loving family relationship. Maybe I assumed to much.

Your looking at major changes to get to .89-.90 range. Thats at most two goals a game. That would average 7.6 goals a game. you know, a goal being scored every 8 minutes of playing time. The *funnest* hockey had close to 8 goal a game average. Sticking with getting around 70 quality shots per game (which mean something drastic needs done) an average goalie with an .880- .890 save percentage and we have an 8 goal game average. Could you image a league with a couple of 50, thats right 50 goal scorers. They could be legendary players. generational I tell ya. Am a little tongue n cheek? Yes. But it would be fun to watch a game and know there is always a good change a good team can come back from a two goal deficit.

Some player lifts his foot back to give it a soccer ball kick and all the defensemen has to do is give him a fore-arm shiver and he's on his down stairs cheeks. The kicks will small and quick.
