I thought it was 4 or 5 bottom teams in the draft for 2016. Then in 2017 it's every team not in the playoffs. Or maybe I'm just remembering someones version of the way it should be according to that poster.

Core for me is 7. At least with Blysma as coach. 3 defense 4 forwards Top pair, plus an all around stud anchoring the the back end. 2 pairs of forwards, HCDB then inserts his third guy depending on the mood he's in that night. Could be an 8 core, but a goalie as a core part is very rare. If the goalie is part of the core , it seems one of the others becomes disposable. Right now the Sabres are missing 1 forward and one on defense. I don't believe Kane and Gorges are core.

We see a lot of improvement, but still lottery hopeful.

Thinking the same thing. They're bound to get better as the year progresses, not worse. I don't believe GMTM is going to do a trade deadline dump to ensure finishing out on a hearty losing streak. If he does.....that's a whole nother thread waiting to happen.

To bad McDavid isn't playing. One, because he is an awesome talent and it's always been a delight to watch him play in the OHL and I really wanted to watch him with vested interest in the NHL. Second, Eichel would never admit it, but you gotta believe he would be ramped up for this game. He is a fierce competitor and there's no way he would step onto that rink without wanting to go home as the number 1 star of the game. Heck, he still might find this the perfect occasion to get his first NHL hat trick, and if it's a Gordie Howe, even sweeter.

And we weren't 10 days ago? The ropes where thrown over the limbs for Ennis, Moulson, Legwand, and the one that needed to swing first and longest was is Gionta. Win a couple games, score more than 1 or 2 goals a game, even a shoot out loss. Wham...It's like we each where given a pacifier.

I believe that Johnson never saw the puck. The fact that an Arizona forward touched his glove before the shot in no way stopped him from trying to catch the puck. His hand never flinched, his catching mitt webbing never wavered as the puck went by. Patty cake has more forceful touching than in that interference, the reason I believe the officials during real time never called it. His Statue of Liberty goalie poise was never broken till the goal light went on. Nichol n dime all the way. As far as the high stick, on the broadcast Rob Ray explained that the official came over and talked with HCDB. The Ref explained the high stick was not called because the Arizona forward was in the act of shooting, therefore negating the high sticking penalty. I believe rendering it non review-able also. Look whats happened to the NFL.... now where on or way baby to the great commercial fest of reviews. My tin foil hat of conspiracy theories. What better way to increase revenue that to garruntee (for you WC) 5 more minutes of commercials. WOOOO HOOO!

I hated the HCDB challenged that gaol in the Arizona game. It was a nickel n dime infraction in a rugged game. It changed the the whole complexion of the game. Arizona had momentum and it was a one goal game. It got ruined. It's happen to the Sabres and I hated it, it happened to turn out in our favor this time and I still hate it.

I submit, despite the current shortcomings, both rosters are better than their record...but it has to happen on the ice, in games. Amerks need a spark; a jumpstart. Who will provide it? Ditto the Sabres. Me. The people that go to Amerks games have to see a bump in player level on par with that of the Sabres. With the *nope*.. Are you saying that the Sabres are not improved or that the Amerks are not improved?

Rochester needed help. They needed some good quality AHL players and leadership. The people in Rochester want a winning team, not just a team of late round draft picks hoping to stay in hockey in some level. Rochester has a nice mix of talent at varying ages and stages of their playing careers now. The people that go to Amerks games have to see a bump in player level on par with that of the Sabres.

Never thought about contact time. The few times I've interacted with police they remained with me/us till the officer deemed necessary to leave. I never gave a thought to other calls coming in. But you made me think back, and I must say his radio never beeped or buzzed or had a call out for a response. We are in a rural setting. I must say that has led to a favorable look upon our officers.

I'm having fun and enjoying the ride this season. But we are the same team, a hair or fraction better maybe, than we where in November. We're just not playing the best teams for goals against. It's amazing how our puck luck changes now that we face the other half of the league. We may be masters of the wax on wax off, but the tornado kick is not in our arsenal quite yet.
