I like: 1. Goalies have swung the pendulum to far the way of over-sized on equipment size. 3. Let them kick at it. They do all over the ice anyway. 5. I like to see that in an AHL setting. It does peak my interest. Basketball made it illegal to use a zone defense in the pros years ago. It stifled defense when the worlds best just crashed the net. The NHL could adopt a similar rule. No 1-2-2, neutral zone trap, left wing lock. Make it Man on Man only.

I think it's a great idea. But, and it's a big but. I've only started one thread. Most of what you speak is above my pay grade. There would need to be very gracious helpful hints to help this evolve if someone like me started a thread.
