  1. He listens too much to Don Cherry, glass and out!
  2. Yeah, I like him too, I took too many D-men to make room for him. A lot of stuff I have read about him makes him out to be a hockey geek.
  3. I chose UPL because I want him to become the next Ryan Miller. He has been dominant against his peers so far. A franchise goalie would go a long way for the Sabres, the other pieces are coming together. He has the potential to reach that level, just needs to get better every year, how development is supposed to work.
  4. Sounds like a workout nut. I like the fact that he mixes up his training, tennis, MMA and power (figure) skating along with hockey.
  5. Tough decisions. I’m going for a few D-men because I like watching how they can control both ends and log nearly half a game. Connor McDavid Sidney Crosby Nathan MacKinnon Nikita Kucherov Patrice Bergeron Seth Jones Victor Hedman Roman Josi Alex Ovechkin Erik Karlsson
  6. 4 because I am curious about RK. Schony and Andreychuk would have some awesome stories spanning decades.
  7. Just finished Bohemian Rhapsody, loved it. I've always liked their music, I will probably focus on it for the next while.
  8. I liked it as well, I've always enjoyed Tarantino's movies. I've never been a Brad Pitt fan but I really liked his role and performance.
  9. I've watched a lot of minor hockey in Canada over the last 20+ years and I would say that the majority of players shoot left, maybe as much as 2/3. Many golfers take up the game left handed as well, bringing their hockey mechanics to the motion before refining it into a swing.
  10. I think Cirelli would be a good acquisition as a 2C moving to a 3C if Mitts takes a big step. They would have to add a little something to the deal for Risto. However, Cirelli doesn't help Tampa's cap situation. Trading Point would help them but he is worth more than just Risto and they can't take on more $$.
  11. I could be wrong but there is no "waivers" until camp opens.
  12. The on going challenge of keeping a good team together in a cap world. Stevie Y may have wanted out for more reasons than just getting back to Detroit.
  13. I remember that he was a tripod in front of the net during power plays, getting those kind of goals. His cardio was other worldly, he used to often have 2-3 minute shifts. LOL.
  14. As I’ve read before, I think they should keep adding talent in order to improve the team and hopefully make the playoffs. I believe there is not enough toughness, which I will call grit, on this team. That can be added at the trade deadline. As long as they are not shrinking violets they can get through the regular season. The playoffs seem to be a war of attrition and being able to give and take the physical punishment is a requirement to go deep. Not every Cup win mirrors the Blues heavy game. Pittsburgh and Chicago had grit but a lot of skill and speed. Even tough guys get hurt so you also need depth, especially at D, who get dinged up by an aggressive forecheck.
  15. Sobotka and Risto are playing catch with tractor tires. Watch out for him this fall! Just kidding, I hope some Euro team takes him. Terry should buy an ownership stake in a Switzerland team and offer Sobotka the same contract to play there.
  16. I have Theoren Fleury shooting on Billy Smith. Toss up, but there could be fireworks.
  17. That seemed to happen to Lupul but they shut him up quickly. I know they have tons of money but at least they're the ones paying Clarkson again since they signed him to that ridiculous deal.
  18. If you get a quality asset, say Ehlers, you can flip him or other assets for a 2C. I know the ideal move is Risto for a 2C but there could be a bunch of dominos needing to fall.
  19. I'm of the generation that watched it live as a kid. My grandfather went to his grave denying this achievement because he had seen similar things done by Holywood many times over the years
  20. I've always liked Asplund, hope he makes the jump soon. I think he will be better all round than Larsson, seems to have more creativity.
  21. Lundquist to mentor Ullmark, but that ain't happening, he's a lifer in NYC.
  22. I imagine most GMs are in mid summer mode, phones on but vacationing somewhere on the water. Dum bass must be on an Artic cruise considering all the heat from the Marner scenario. The odd signing activity may happen but trades probably won't pick up for 3 weeks or so.
  23. I think Mittelsteadt has the most room for improvement. Dahlin will improve a lot and it is just a matter of whether it is 20, 30, 40 or 50 percent better. Ullmark is the next guy I would think can show he really belongs and is ready for more starts.
  24. Yeah, that's where I remember seeing him and he did well. I didn't see him play for the Hawks but I would trust Q's judgment. He is still young for a D and any shortcomings can be worked on. I am hopeful he makes the team out of camp and settles into a top four role by mid season. He doesn't need to be put on waivers, so he may be sent down while our deep RD situation gets sorted out. Rochester D will be in good shape if they don't move out any D.
  25. I am aching for some tidbit of Sabres info so I read the whole thing, even though I have no clue about Pokemon. Too much time on my hands...
