Is that too low of a floor for you? Monahan has played 656 games scoring 462 points. Best season was 34 goals and 82 points. Still only 27 so he can add some more. Probably not what you expect from Wright if you pick him 1st but it could be his floor.

Looks like you need a combination of Advil and Pepto Bismol in industrial strength.

I am always intrigued by the players that draft prospects are compared to. I have tried to find a ceiling and floor comparable player for a few of the projected first rounders. I may be off in either direction or there may be a closer option so feel free to weigh in. Shane Wright. P.Bergeron, S.Monaghan Logan Cooley J.Hughes, A.Turcotte Juraj Slafkovsky B.Tkachuk V.Nichushkin Simon Nemec J.Klingberg, T.Liljegren David Jiricek A.Ekblad, A.Stralman Matthew Savoie B.Point, A.Ruotsalainen Joakim Kemell F.Forsberg, M.Amadio Brad Lambert R.Thomas, N.Yakupov Frank Nazar J.Pavelski, N.Petan Jonathan Lekkerimaki W.Nylander, A.Nylander Connor Geekie D.Strome, M.McCarron Cutter Gauthier B.Horvat, M.Comtois Pavel Mintyukov T.Chabot, C.Miller Marco Kasper R.O’Reilly, J.Larsson Rutger McGroarty J.Staal, R.Sheahan Jimmy Snuggerud B.Saad, W.Carrier Kevin Korchinski S.Theodore, T.Harley

I wasn’t thinking that you were the culprit, just the thought of this was disturbing.

Brendan Guhle. I think Kaiden will be a solid top 4 Dman for Montreal.
-
This was a good read, thanks for the effort you put into the draft research every year. I hope your father is getting better. The more chatter I see about LHD like Mintyukov, Korchinski and others, the more I like the Sabres chances of getting some good forwards in the first round. Slafkovsky has the largest picture of the projected top 3….
-
There is no way in hell he becomes the next Bergeron. If he can get convinced to play a 200’ game without coasting, that is an improvement.
-
This series has the 80’s Oilers vs Islanders feel to it. I could handle 7 of these games.
-
This has been a good game so far, speed to burn, nice passing, good saves, some nastiness and lots of shot blocking. No panic in Tampa’s game. MacKinnon got a bit of room and finally had some chances, he is so explosive.
-
Immediate turn off when Lekkeremaki’s profile said “think William Nylander”. Skilled but indifferent.
-
Kasper is #8 on this list. It’s nice to see him getting recognition but I hope he is around at 16.
-
Good luck, Toronto airport has been a nightmare recently.
-
Maybe his vision of Jack is being the next Bergeron.
-
Bob McKenzie’s list should drop soon, it has been pretty accurate over the years. I believe he talks to 10 or 12 scouts and uses their consensus list to predict the first round.
-
James Patrick is the coach of Savoie and Geekie so the Sabres could get some top notch stuff from him.
-
Welcome back. Thanks for this, I like to read what scouts think, even if there are multiple opinions on a guy. I was not high on Geekie and now want to avoid him. I don’t like to hear no motor and lack of compete. I like Kasper at 16 and the quotes encourage that. That is a good spot to pick a middle six C who is responsible and works hard. I don’t want a LHD at 16 but if the Sabres think Korchinski is BPA they might have to take him and manage the assets later. I hope for Savoie or Nazar at 9. I would think the team has some good intel on Nazar from interviews and our analytics guy related to the USNDTP staffer.

Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond

I listened to the podcast, Peca just sounds like a leader. I liked the part where JJP was miffed about Quinn getting Rookie of the year so he went out next game and got a hat trick. I hoped he would’ve talked about UPL but Dell was the guy brought up. Sounds like Rousek may turn some heads. -
Sabres Officially Select #9, #16, and #28

I like #1 the best because I think Savoie and Nazar have the highest ceilings and play C. Chesley is a RHD, which is a need. Lekkeremaki is like Quinn, Korchinski is a LHD but Miro could be a steal. No Cs in that group or the 3rd one. -
Sabres Officially Select #9, #16, and #28

I like Kasper at 16. He doesn’t sound like a high ceiling C but is defensively solid and works hard. Sounds like Lundell from a few years ago. I think they need to take a C at 9 or 16, the Sabres have plenty of W in the system. I am watching Korchinski play in the WHL finals right now. He can certainly skate and handle the puck. It seems like he never leaves the ice. -
Sabres Officially Select #9, #16, and #28

Isaac Howard is a guy I was impressed by at the U18s, he also led the USNDTP in scoring. He doesn’t seem to be generating much attention on draft boards. -
I voted MAF but would say Manson and Copp are attractive targets. I think Copp gets better offers elsewhere though.
-
There are a lot of banged up players. We know about Point and Kadri but there are others who are playing hurt. The sacrifices for the good of the team have been great to watch. I would love to have a right handed McDonagh on the Sabres, what a warrior. He always seems to make the right play. Avs are hungry but Tampa wants to threepeat. This should be a good final. I’m leaning Avs but I won’t be upset either way.
-
Sabres always beat the Leafs, need to meet them in the first round and keep the Leafs run intact.
-
Way better than Eakin. This is his first time in the playoffs but he has played well. He scored the game winner in the World Championships last year for Canada. He played in the World Juniors back in the day. Wore an A in Ottawa.
