  1. They need effort and some above average goaltending. The scoring being spread out should be an asset. KO is due for some offense. Dahlin with another multi point game. Sabres win 4-3.
  2. Yes, he was a left winger on this team as a 16 year old. He probably played centre in minor hockey and was drafted with the idea of moving him back later. COVID-19 will end up having a lot of guys, especially OHL graduates, outperform or underperform their draft position. There are probably a few that were not taken at all who may become NHLers.
  3. I love this tournament and have been following it since 1982. International hockey, prospects, holiday season.
  4. Consolidated mock draft at Elite Prospects. They use around a dozen mock drafts to create this list. 1Shane Wright (C)Kingston Frontenacs OHL 2Matthew Savoie (C)Winnipeg Ice WHL 3Simon Nemec (D)HK Nitra Slovakia 4Juraj Slafkovsky (LW)TPS Liiga 5Brad Lambert (C/RW)JYP Liiga 6Ivan Miroshnichenko (LW)Omskie Krylia VHL 7Danila Yurov (RW)Metallurg Magnitogorsk KHL 8Logan Cooley (C)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 9Joakim Kemell (RW)JYP Liiga 10Conor Geekie (C)Winnipeg Ice WHL 11David Jiricek (D)HC Plzen Czech 12Rutger McGroarty (C)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 13Elias Salomonsson (D)Skellefteå AIK J20 J20 Nationell 14Frank Nazar (RW)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 15Seamus Casey (D)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 16Isaac Howard (LW)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 17Ryan Chesley (D)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 18Jonathan Lekkerimäki (C)Djurgårdens IF J20 J20 Nationell 19Tristan Luneau (D)Gatineau Olympiques QMJHL 20Noah Östlund (C)Djurgårdens IF J20 J20 Nationell 21Ty Nelson (D)North Bay Battalion OHL 22Nathan Gaucher (C)Québec Remparts QMJHL 23Filip Mesar (W/C)HK Poprad Slovakia 24Denton Mateychuk (D)Moose Jaw Warriors WHL 25Marco Kasper (C)Rögle BK SHL 26Cutter Gauthier (LW)U.S. National U18 Team USDP 27Jack Hughes (C)Northeastern Univ. 5. Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold, World Championship and World Junior Championship. He knows how to win.
  6. I saw an article from The Hockey News that I was unable to read. The headline was Half of the NHL is up against the Cap, limiting trades. The Sabres have tons of cap space and this can be weaponized to get a goalie, whether a short term bandaid or a prospect closer to the NHL than UPL. I am not scouring depth charts and making phone calls, that is KA’s job. There has to be some decent guys that can be pried away by taking an expiring contract. An example I’ve cited a few times is Dallas. Bishop, Khudobin, Holtby and Oettinger. All four can play in the NHL, better than Dell.
  7. He is a 2004 so this is his draft year. Good numbers, stacked team though. If you like big goalies he is only 5’11. Not trying to stir up the size crowd but that is on small size. He may not be done growing yet.
  8. This is a matchup that the Sabres can win. VO’s return helps the PP. They just need to work for 60 minutes. 4-2 Sabres, Dahlin with another 2 point night.
  9. Sabres need to be puck hounds and get some PP mojo back to take this game. Oh, and the goalie cannot be holey. Lets go Buffalo.
  10. He was better than Colin Miller on that team.
  11. Something about Perfetti I didn’t want. He wasn’t very gritty or interested in puck pursuit. At the U20 he was a perimeter player who was hyped but did not produce. Plus, he has a baby face. LOL
  12. His save percentage is awesome but I don’t know how many actual scoring chances he stops. He has made some nice saves on breakaways. Greg Gardner has the NCAA record of 12 Shutouts in a season. Ryan Miller is in a group of guys that had 10. Miller’s sophomore season. Matthew Galajda has the freshman record at 9 while Ryan Miller is next at 8. Looking at the lists of those top goalies, there are some solid NHLers and a lot of JAGs so…. I’ll take a hit of hopium and wait.
  13. Impressive! I can’t wait to see the competition with Bedard over the next two years. A couple of teams will be getting some serious building blocks, maybe an entire foundation. He’s rocking #39.
  14. I read elsewhere that Oettinger didn’t play either and he is a Minnesota kid.
  15. Kitchener was up 4-0 in this game and could have put it away on those PP chances. Bloom started the comeback and led them to a 6-4 win.
  16. That is on point and don’t forget Tuch. Adding all of that talent will win a few games. I hate losing and like most of the people here it has been a tough ten years. I see some progress and the long term outlook looks promising. It just tries our patience to watch it unfold at the current pace.
  17. Josh Bloom with a goal for Saginaw tonight, with a period to play vs the Soo Greyhounds. This kid is having a good year, moving up the ranks.
  18. Using Rock, Paper, Scissors logic, the Sabres cut the Penguins to pieces and win 5-2. Milwaukee Weedwacker (just bought one).
