DG has to ride UPL while he is hot. He is a huge part of this winning streak. I would keep Comrie in the AHL as long as possible (5 games?). Anderson gets a game tomorrow in Ottawa, a great showing by him will make things interesting. If he struggles then some maintenance days may be required. In that case, Comrie comes up right away. KA will have to get creative to carry 3 goalies.

Well, that was a satisfying roller coaster ride. What a game by Tuch, UPL and Cozens. Gutsy game by Krebs.

UPL looks confident.

Sabres seem energetic, just not sharp with passing.

Bruins run the goalie early, Dahlin gave him the lumber and stayed in his face.

Having to watch the NESN feed, should be painful on the ears.

No pressure on the Sabres. The Bruins have the undefeated home streak, the best team in the first half reputation and beating the Sabres every other time they meet. DG will have them ready, it will be a big challenge. If they bring their A game they can do it. The Sens have beaten the Bruins twice for Pete’s sake. Let’s go Buffalo!

Czech Mafia. You can add Rousek as potentially making the Sabres too. I like what Spacek has done so far, he is a big RHD who can move the puck and contribute offensively. I am definitely on board with Suchanek, not enough goalies in the pipeline and this kid has won some big games.

I love Dahlin and Samuelsson but Dahlin is harder to replace. Dahlin keeps the puck out of the Sabres end, he drives possession and play. He is also the PP QB. Power is not ready to shoulder that load, he needs to mature, develop and get to know the league before he can tilt the ice like Dahlin can. Samuelsson keeps the puck out of the Sabres net, regains possession and moves the puck safely to the neutral zone. He does not contribute offensively. He is the antidote. Dahlin is the wonder drug.

Good for the Amerks, he is an all star player at that level.

This is not measurable but his teammates love him. It sounds like he is a big oaf with a quick smile who doesn’t take things too seriously. He is positionally sound and uses his big body to slow opponents down, separate them from the puck, deliver some nice hits, clear the crease of pucks, tie guys up while not screening his goalie and block shots. Not very sexy but extremely valuable. A glue guy defensively and in the room.

If Pilut gets picked up, we can identify one team that the Sabres are much better than. It is nice to get healthy and have a bit of depth that other teams may want. At some point teams will be claiming Sabres waiver moves because the quality of depth players will be decent.

Light schedule today. Germany vs Austria and Slovakia vs Latvia. These games will determine who finishes 5th in their divisions and goes to the relegation games. I may have the TV on but won’t be glued to these ones.

I think New Jersey falls out of a playoff spot.

Tuch didn’t get any points but he was flying out there and he made some nice plays. Peterka was fun to watch, he was shot out of a cannon. Jost is solid. UPL was good enough. Bruins have lost twice to the Senators, it can be done.

He is what he is. An AHL puck moving Dman who can fill in a 6/7 role for a short stint in the NHL. I don’t want to be too picky but I like my Dmen bigger than him. Maybe one guy per six of his size.

Kulich looks like a big strong kid. Jaro Spacek’s son is a nice RHD, already drafted though. I would still take a chance on their goalie Suchanek.
