After a slow start to his season, his recent play has him 4th in Sv% at .930 only .002 behind the leader. A strong finish combined with NU making the payoffs puts him in the Hobey Baker conversation IMHO. He had better numbers last year and won the Mike Richter (Best Goalie) while another goalie won the Hobey Baker. This seemed like a consolation prize to Levi, he was the best goalie and had a better season than the Hobey Baker winner, who was a senior.

He’s been hyped as a great goalie prospect and he’s living up to it so far. His body of work since his draft has been really good. He is ready for the next challenge, turning pro. Someone in the organization was high on him for the trade to happen. His potential is to be a difference maker, we can only hope. It will be a crowded crease if they give him games in Buffalo.

Sabres are explosive but I’m going to bed. Not feeling it tonight.

NHL wants him involved, he was courted by multiple groups. His Wrexham team has gotten a lot of attention from his involvement. I believe they have a reality show based on the team.

They are getting desperate if they are willing to retain salary. His contract is already good, it must be a team or teams that are tight to the cap willing to make one last pitch.

Devon Levi and Northeastern are playing vs Harvard for the Beanpot championship. I don’t follow the NCAA closely but a win tonight should help them be considered for the Frozen Four? Rankings get teams into the NCAA playoffs right?

I hope the bag skate woke them up. LA is a playoff team and got smoked the last time they played the Sabres. The boys need their A game tonight to win the toughest matchup on this trip and to stay within reach of the wildcard spot. Even a loser point helps. I’ll stay up if they keep me entertained. A healthy squad with rusty legs will take a while to get going but prevail 5-3. Tommydangles with a pair of goals, Dahlin with 3 assists. Krebs takes on Lucic to avenge the Ryan Miller hit.

Yeah, it’s all western teams messing this up so far. Like others are saying, just win. If they win a few in a row, the other teams will feel the heat.

Hockey takes up 95% of my “sports” time and the Sabres are the only NHL team I care about. There is some great discussion here and I learn something every day, which makes it a good day.

Looking at the Sabres roster and where they were drafted indicates to me how much talent is on the team and the importance of the draft. There are 13 1st round picks. 6 are Sabres picks. Average draft position is 12.5. There are 6 2nd round picks. 4 are Sabres picks. There are 1 pick each from rounds 3,4 and 7. Two are Sabres picks. There is 1 undrafted FA. That is an impressive collection of talent from their draft years. They are young and still developing while many other high picks are still waiting their turns. The future is bright and this team has drafted better recently.
