  1. If they are getting a goalie in a trade then a forward or two may be what leaves.
  2. He is an option provided they don’t give up too much. If the Sabres are out of the playoff race they can probably recoup what they give up at the trade deadline. Carey Price’s health will determine Allen’s availability.
  3. For all of you that attend, please provide some comments and or reports on your observations. Much appreciated.
  4. Marty Biron was saying in a podcast that Quick would probably retire rather than accept a trade. He’s been a King for his entire career so that could happen. You never know unless you ask.
  5. Thanks for the link, they are really high on Östlund. He just needs time to develop and grow. Time will tell.
  6. Teams are going to want the big UFAs and not have the cap space to do so. Maybe this is the way KA lands a goalie. The carousel is getting bare, his patience better show some progress within the next few weeks. Our patience is wearing thin.
  7. A little rich but he is a versatile depth defenseman. There is some room for growth, getting stronger and better acclimated to the league.
  8. I think these guys would kick anyone’s butts in a prospect tournament.
  9. Bloom should be in there, perhaps around Nadeau’s level.
  10. Colin Miller and Mark Pysyk are still unsigned. Ducks!!!
  11. You think he gets 40 in Ottawa?
  12. I doubt Debrincat scores much more than 30 without Kane.
  13. He’s only the second guy I see with that name, the other being Bobrov, the Russian coach in the 1972 Summit Series.
  14. If he can be mentored by Datsyuk he can’t help but improve.
  15. That is impressive, surround him with some talented playmakers (Krebs, Östlund) and watch out.
  16. Nice, another guy to watch at this tournament. I hope Rosen gets a bigger role than last December. He was a third liner and wasn’t a factor when I watched him.
  17. I would give Comrie a shot now. If he wants to come to Buffalo to be a starter there is no other team that could outbid KA. My trade target would be Varlamov. At his age he wouldn’t block UPL, Levi or Portillo.
  18. KA’s patience may work well in this case. I don’t want to give up much in assets to get him, I think they can get him as a UFA next July. If KA waits them out and no one else can fit him under their cap then Kane could land in his lap for a cheap return. KA could also help his cause by weaponizing the cap to get Kane where he wants to go for a playoff run this year. The Sabres could gain an asset for making the deal happen and be #1 on Kane’s list for next year.
  19. Comrie could be worth a shot, In tandem with Anderson. He’s watched Hellebuyck up close and should have learned a few things.
  20. That’s too bad, if true, I thought he could be in the Sabres plan now that the carousel is nearly empty.
  21. I have very similar grades for day 1 & 2 as well as the overall draft. Savoie will be an NHLer, his ceiling is Brayden Point. Östlund like Krebs could be a Gilmour type. Kulich is a nice pick and could be a Palat type of player. The grade is A on day 1. I think Leinonen was early but if they felt he was the best goalie and someone may scoop him then I’m ok with it. Neuchev could be a solid pick. I listened to a podcast geared at Russian prospects and he was near the top. Lindgren could be in the NHL in 4 years, he has skill and pedigree, I like this pick. Richard is a late ‘04 who finished really well in the USHL and should be a top guy there this year. The rest are just hopium shots in my opinion. B+ for day two. It will take a few years to get a good grasp of this draft but I believe the Sabres will be near the top of the heap and they should supplant the LA Kings as having the deepest prospect pool.
  22. I think he may play in all three leagues next year. He has probably grown out of the MHL and should get games in the VHL with the occasional bench warming call up to the KHL.
  23. I am getting the feeling that they will gamble on Holtby for two years. If he and/or Anderson breaks then they get a taste of UPL. Subban or Dell may be the other Rochester guy. I think Campbell will want too much term for KA’s plan and he won’t get into a bidding war for Kuemper. There are still some possibilities on the trade front but the draft currency is now ‘23 and ‘24.
