Good point. I am enjoying watching him compete. He is still not strong but he uses his IQ and uses his body at the right times. I know I am bashing the Leafs again but Marner and Nylander are similar to Reinhart but did not engage physically at all in any playoff year.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

Thanks for the tips folks. I am in Canada so I’m not sure Hulu is an option. I will look into it. -
Playoff hockey is different for sure, way more intense and physical. Don’t forget that less than a year ago Colorado won the Cup playing a style closer to the Sabres than the Panthers. The intensity, hounding the puck, hitting, blocking shots was elevated though.

Ok thanks. If we want to get Yellowstone and the spin-offs, can we subscribe to Paramount+ for a month, stream everything we want and then cancel the subscription after that month? Shoresy is available on our cable package but I would have to subscribe to Crave tv to get it. My question is more about getting in and out of these streaming companies. There are only a few shows we are interested in outside of Netflix and Amazon, which we already have. I will be getting Sportsnet Now to get all of the hockey in the fall. I will subscribe to TSN during the World Juniors. -
I can’t remember the source but he brought in Simon Gagne to help and to take over for 23/24. Here is one source: https://coloradohockeynow.com/2023/05/21/in-final-season-patrick-roy-leads-remparts-to-qmjhl-championship-nhl-next/#

We are looking to cut cable and go to streaming only. Is it easy to subscribe for a month and then cancel once you have viewed a certain series/show? -
Tuch vs JJP in one semifinal.

Forsling has been good.

One more year for sure, I don’t know of many imports that play as 20 year olds. Next year may not be as much fun, Quebec is obviously going for it and had 13 guys 19 years old or more. They will be rebuilding. There is a chance he gets traded like Nadeau was. Patrick Roy is done as Remparts coach as well.

Krebs is playing a solid 200’ game, skating really well.
-
Levi is backing up, Montembeault is playing really well.

One. Komarov is from Chelyabinsk, he is a Traktor.
-
3-0 Canada early in the third.

I’ve only seen him play one game. He looked slow but played a simple game. Big kid that could add 15 pounds of muscle. Another year of junior to get faster and stronger will help him. Ill try and watch him in the Memorial Cup for a better read on his game.

Quinn scores on the rush to give Canada a 1-0 lead in the QF vs Finland.

The Swiss were really good in the preliminary round, this would be an upset. Getting more JJP is a good thing.

My thought at season’s end was that they could run with this exact same roster in 23/24 and make the playoffs. Internal improvement alone would provide the necessary points. This is not a foolproof strategy and there are definite weaknesses to be addressed. Defense, goaltending and PK were my areas of concern. Bringing back KO will not impact overall scoring as he is on his last legs and he should be a 4th liner with very little special teams ice time. This is purely a leadership, respect and camaraderie type of move. I still would like to see a playoff hardened vet or two brought in to provide a different kind of leadership. KO is helping these guys be good pros, great people and being themselves. I think someone like Killorn, Toews, Hathaway, Compher could teach these guys what it takes to get to the next level in the playoffs. Plus they would add a skillset that may be lacking like PK, faceoffs, toughness etc… Now if Hinestroza, Girgensons and Jost are all re-signed I will begin to worry that KA has fallen in love with his team and he doesn’t want to p**s anybody off.

I find it interesting that Florida has 3 of the top 4 picks in the 2014 draft. Ekblad, Reinhart and Bennett.
-
If there is no chance he extends in Buffalo I may not make the trade. If there is a slight chance then KA has time to convince him to extend. The culture change should help, everyone raves about the room. He will win games in Buffalo, bringing the team back to the playoffs and maybe going on a run. That would help KA extend him. Spending time on a young, up and coming team should excite a competitive guy like Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck would definitely make a difference, he is one of the best goalies in the NHL, year after year. KA loves his prospects so he won’t give a bunch of them away but he has plenty of them so moving one for Hellebuyck is fair. It is only a one year rental so he should not command a huge haul.

I wouldn’t have signed him but I can live with it. I thought his effectiveness had dropped by about a third. He has two moves, dump and chase or try and squeeze between the D and the boards. They value his leadership and he did help create the new culture on the team so he should be a part of the team if he thinks he can help. I hope he is wise enough to step aside if he is injured, exhausted or just plain blocking a better talent. Leadership is still needed but I was hoping KA was going to get a playoff tested veteran to help the new guys with letters. I think a different type of leadership is needed to be a playoff type of team. 20 year old Wyatt Johnston has almost as many playoff games as KO has played in 16 years. I wonder if KA moves on from Girgs and Jost to find some playoff hardened vets.

Kulich has been great.

Staal, Dalpe

They need to speed up golf with those kinds of penalties.

Good question. I get my fancy stats info second hand here so I don’t know where to look for that information. I think it would show up in stuff like most minutes paired with x,y,z. Defensive vs offensive zone starts. Quality of competition. This is where a good analytics/scouting team identifies a diamond in the rough. Someone who gets caved in because of circumstance, not his performance. A guy like that would probably lose his love of the game and welcome a change.

Maybe I am easily influenced but some of my opinions have been changed by a good discussion or two. I also find that some people identify UFAs or trade targets I hadn’t considered. People discuss strategy, tactics and analytics that I was unaware of. A few posters have an area of focus that makes them interesting to read and can teach me something (salary cap, draft, FA status details, analytics, AHL rules etc…)
