  1. Dear Sabres, can you please put some effort into tonight’s game? I would like to watch but I can’t stand it when you look like a defeated bunch of kids. I do not expect you to make the playoffs after s******g the bed this month, so the pressure is off. Just go have fun and collect your participation medal. P.S. Coach Meatballs, if UPL sucks again, can you pull him before the game is out of reach? Oh yeah, Comrie is backing up so forget it. Just entertain me and I’ll be happy. Hopes for tonight: Win Dahlin points TNT goals Quinn and Peterka points .900 SV%
  2. Me too. The position involves so many battles in front of the net or in the corners. A long reach closes gaps and takes away lanes. A mixture of guys is OK to a point but I would prefer a D corps between 6’1” and 6’4”, provided they can skate and move the puck. Bryson is small but plays smaller. Without the high end offensive skills, he has trouble being effective.
  3. Watched Saros stop 27 of 28 shots and stoned Seattle in the shootout. That’s how a goalie can win a game.
  4. I’ll give up either one plus a 2nd rounder for Saros. I really like these prospects but Saros is what they need.
  5. Watching Nashville vs Kraken, Saros is solid, making huge saves. He is quick.
  6. Similar NCAA numbers to Bryson, 2 inches taller. AHL depth.
  7. I think UPL needs more time in the AHL to gain some confidence and experience to get another shot at the NHL. The problem with this is Levi needs to play and I don’t know if a shared net in Rochester would work. The competition would be good to see but I don’t think there would be enough games for these two prospects.
  8. I think some different assistants should be brought in to help the PK and defensive assignments.
  9. I really like this kid. He may have the talent to make the Sabres in October but I would send him down to brew a bit longer. I think Savoie stays up for at least a 9 game look due to his CHL or NHL status. Kulich should get a call up or two if he continues his trajectory. I hope he is the long term replacement for VO. It would be a bonus if he or Savoie could develop into a 3C that is as good as Cozens. As others have stated, strength is what he will need to add, we see how JJP and Quinn are knocked off the puck. His 19 year old season in the AHL will be interesting to watch. He could explode. He should be ready for a full time spot in Buffalo in 24-25.
  10. And they have a top notch goalie that gives them a few big saves nearly every game. Sorokin covers up a lot of warts.
  11. He was Hasek for Northeastern, they gave up tons of shots every game but he kept them in it. What is there to lose now?
  12. So a tough, defense first team like the Isles gives up a high danger+ scoring opportunity yet a goalie is capable of making a save which turns the tide. Hmmm.
  13. I preferred beach ball with a Gatling gun. Seriously, @pi2000is right, the goalie who can make some key saves just invigorates the entire team. Team defense is weak but there has to be some saves. Weak example but the team played better in the third after UPL came in and held the Fort. I think it is time to run with Levi. I don’t think some stinkers will break his spirit. He is capable of some big saves and that might inspire the group to care a little more.
  14. I’m OK with this. Girgs still has some game but he is short on true grit. KO is done and as I said in another thread, he has only played 24 playoff games in 16 seasons. He doesn’t know what it takes to win. I like them as people but it is time.
  15. Okposo is a great guy and has many leadership qualities. However, he has only played 24 playoff games in 16 seasons. He doesn’t know what it takes to win. Anderson was able to help a bit but cannot stop a volleyball now. Mentorship and cheerleading are needed but leading by example is more powerful.
  16. Saros makes a save at the right time. He doesn’t need much run support to win but he’s got it tonight.
  17. Holy smokes, what a s**t show. Nashville is one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL and they have 5 halfway through the game.
  18. To accept his honorary PhD at Northeastern after leading the Sabres to back to back Stanley Cups in 25-26 and 26-27.
