  1. Las Vegas is a terrible market for the NHL. I think its going to be a magnanimous flop. Quebec City was the better market for hockey going forward. But, I understand their fear with having too many teams north of the US. We'll see. Take Moulson, Gorges, etc :)
  2. Shrugs, was any of that truly shocking news.
  3. It's really a shame that Quebec City didn't get more of a realistic shot. Posting those types of fees and having a building ready to go, is a shame. The Nordiques were a model franchise back in the mid 80's into the 90's.
  4. That's awesome! My brother in law has it, I am very supportive of it too!
  5. Aho will be an interesting guy in the third round tier. All about taking a shot on Finnish players :D!
  6. He fits all the boxes for a Murray type of pick. He came across as very humble and motivated. I really do like quite a few of the D in the class, Bean has a lot of attributes that would be great for the Sabres. It's going to be an interesting draft for sure.
  7. Exactly. Just like I really love McAvoy, if we had the dearth of LHD, I'd so take him at 8. He's smart, reads the play well and has hockey IQ.
  8. It would be in the right circumstance, again he could go at the tail end of the first round, or could fall into the top of the third. It's wide opened. I wouldn't be too aggressive. But I like him, as I like a few others in that range. You got me hooked into the idea of Dineen in the 2nd.
  9. I was happy for Dupuis, Hagelin, and a few others. That's about it. I wanted the Sharks to win so badly. But, w/e. Onto the offseason!
  10. Asplund is my personal guy that could be the steal of the draft in the 2nd to 3rd round range. I love what I've seen.
  11. Keith Yandle, Kris Russell (maybe if the price is right), Alex Goligoski in that order on LHD. Steven Stamkos, Frans Nielsen, David Perron, Andrew Ladd, Jamie McGinn, Kyle Okposo, maybe Boedker or Lucic. Shrugs very uninspiring UFA crop. But, you will have a bulk/dearth of trading options.
  12. Well that's good, its over with, now the offseason can commence. I loathe the Pittsburgh Penguins, but Congrats, you earned it. Ready for the draft and to see what Tim Murray does to blow our expectations out of the water this offseason!
  13. A lot of boards/mock have him tumbling. Which is completely retarded considering he did well at the combine and seems to be a strong interview. Preference is what it is, but really all it takes is one GM saying, yeah well the media is the media.
  14. Trading the #8 pick for extra picks in the second round is A) counter productive B) taking quantity to quality C) Lazy. The draft is what it is. The strength after the top #3, is D. You take what you feel is the best fit long term. Whether that's Juolevi, Chychrun, Sergachev, Bean, McAvoy. Or you take a forward like Nylander, Keller, Jost, etc.
  15. Go Toronto Maple Leafs!
  16. I've seen Niemelainen listed anywhere from 25-27 through the top of the third round. It's all based on the scouting staffs of the teams and slated style of play and preference. Anywhere from 25-40 is a crap shoot.
  17. Really sad news for the sport. My condolences to the family and for everyone involved. I had the pleasure of shaking his hand once, truly a gentleman. Lost one of if not the best!
  18. I'm blown away that Puljujarvi could be in play, that's all classic worlds of dumb. You take him and run. Especially when you have a good movement heading into next year. They might feel more comfortable at 8-10 going Jost, McLeod, Brown for more of a second tier center.
  19. Peters and Rivet, still gushing over Rick Nash . I would take Okposo for free without giving up assets for a player with too much $$.
  20. I agree, the notion of giving up a slightly flawed but solid top four defensemen and #8 to Edmonton of all teams for #4 is ludicrous. If they want to accept Bogosian and #38 sure, but you're asking for pigs to fly with a top 4 defensemen locked up and a top 10 pick in a weak draft for #4 to get Tkachuk seems unfathomable. There has to be some sort of realistic view by TMGM, I doubt he'd hand them that package.
  21. I apologize, I didn't mean to say finesse, I should have said puck moving offensive D. You're right, he was a physical specimen at the combine last year.
  22. Yes, and Glover was a dolt.
  23. +1, he's a pain in the ass to play against, and if you add him to your top six in combination of Evander you have two players not afraid to go into the rough areas. He's not going to be worth his cap figure, but if you get him at around $6M, and he's willing to come to Buffalo you have to consider it. I have no love for him from his Bruins days of course.
  24. Makarov was going to go back the KHL. There is literally no staying power in his game. He's never been consistent since his post junior play. He would have had to prove his way and doubters the entire way to earn a spot even as a back-up, ala Jonas Enroth.
  25. Yeah, when expecting an HBO Ian MacShane, that's not the type of role one envisions. However, things that I liked: Sansor Clegaine! Arya gets something to surmount, because I doubt she dies. She's going to kill someone major.
