  1. Caggiula would have been an upgrade on our lower six forward group for sure. But, would he have been guaranteed a top six role, I doubt it. Being realistic, he's not in Vesey's class as far as talent. Vesey is the 6'3" type forward that we need with power in his game. Surely nothing against Drake, who took the chance to get a top six role near Draisaitl or McDavid and ran with it. Good luck Drake. Vancouver made so much more sense for you.
  2. He's on an expiring contract. That's too steep for me. Then we have even more RHD. lol
  3. The last part, was tantalizing. Definitely agree that beating them out for Stamkos after they've unexpectedly drafted Laine would make me laugh all the way to the bank for season tickets :P
  4. Drool, love his game. I would say they are more likely to let Backes walk and trade Shattenkirk before letting Schwartz go in a trade.
  5. Hartley is very terse, and he has worn out his welcome in Colorado and Atlanta. It was a matter of time. He is who he is, nothing but respect for him to get what he got out of Calgary. The goal tending fell apart and Hamilton did not mesh as well as they thought initially.
  6. Benning on TSN 1040, stated that they will both talk to other GM's about trading up or down depending on the offer. Trading up to secure one of the better defensemen or Tkachuk would be my preference to Alex Nylander.
  7. The Laffs will at least be booed heavily as Shanahan, Babcock, Lamoriello and company come up tot he podium.
  8. This is a comparable situation to the Cuban players like Abreu (Chicago White Sox) at age 27 and having a powerful season and winning the ROY. It happens. I won't even bother to get upset by it. It is what it is.
  9. I haven't watched enough of Sergachev, is he a more polished Zadorov? Or the fact that I think the size and Russian factor means I'm just generalizing?
  10. I will just cross my fingers until we're up that Chychrun falls to #8. So we'll see, the logical fit is Edmonton. Who know's what will happen.
  11. Okay so lets focus on what we actually end up with ty :)
  12. It says as much, I am sorry for being dense.
  13. Anyone in Rochester know what channel its on, I only have local cable.
  14. Will the NHL be playing it free on NHL.com?
  15. Well he's got second line potential, but I call a spade a spade. He's not entirely a Tom Wilson clone, but there are similar parallels.
  16. It's the late round QB pick. What were you thinking? This is a terrible draft class for QB's even Wentz and Goff have their major flaws. Lynch might be a good QB in two plus seasons. It's all a gamble.
  17. This probably ends the EJ Manuel experiment in Buffalo. Seems like a EJ Manuel type clone with the raw physical skills. But, it wasn't a bad pick where it was.
  18. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=880622&navid=DL|BUF|home Article comparing Larsson to Sami Pahlsson. Interesting read. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/johan-larsson-42916/t-277437090/c-43782103 2 minute interview with Johan.
  19. What I would really love to see happen is Buffalo win a top 3 pick and somehow use chips to trade back into the mid-to-late teens to the early twenties to draft Max Jones. We really could use someone with his ability on the third line.
  20. I agree with all of this. However, I would add that Tyler Ennis is a top six on another team. I truly believe by October 4th, he will have a new address.
  21. My dream would be Sabres, Coyotes, Vancouver. Screw Edmonton, and Toronto being in the top 3. :D
  22. I thought it made sense to reward him for his play and sign him for two or three seasons at $1,350,000-$1,750,000 for his two way ability and his PK and face off work. However, I cannot blame them for wanting to see more before raising the stakes. Either way he's locked in. One piece done. I can definitely agree with that. He just had a really down year and I truly believe he'll rebound this upcoming season.
