  1. Saying that they're looking for a defensemen and quoting Bogosian is close to a return, are complete opposites of the solution.
  2. As far as extending Kane, the writing is on the wall. He'll sooner return via UFA, than he will be extended during this current season.
  3. #1: Trading Evander Kane: while being creative as some articles have shown (Yahoo etc) and getting the best mix of futures; ie picks, prospect. #2: Scouring the college hockey free agent pool and adding as many realistic options as possible. #3: Being creative and finding a way to trade at least one dead space contract (see: Moulson, Okposo, Bogosian). #4: Under no circumstances do you trade #15. Trading #23 is much more realistic. Housley can only be as strong as his team. He's a first time head coach. He's positive. If you fire him this early into his first contract, you're selling a message to the rest of the league about how not to run a franchise.
  4. Gorges at least expires, Moulson while completely useless is on the books for next season. Then there's the tire fire that is becoming Okposo.
  5. I'm not about absorbing a player like Orpik's deal unless we get 1st, Vrana or Burakovsky +. That's hideous. I don't want anymore dead weight on this pathetic team. Orpik still is a stalwart in his own zone, but we don't need more rigid age on the back end. Sprong is the only serviceable piece in this for me. The difference of a 2nd for the Penguins to a first is laughable. I'm not helping Pittsburgh who has if not the worst hockey prospect pool, it's close.
  6. I'm not trading Evander Kane for Ian Cole, if that happens I'm done watching hockey this season. If the Penguins want to give up Sprong, a 1st, and possible assets, maybe. But, the idea of Cole for Kane is baffling. If you want to trade Rental for Rental, can we please start with Gorges +++++.
  7. I would take him for Bogosian or Moulson! :P
  8. The transition defense is terrible. They're putting so much into joining the rush that the lack of settling down the opposition is frustrating. I was at the game and I wore my Mogilny jersey. I got such crap :P Anywho. The word "gliding or coasting" once up 4 was frustrating. This team needs a more "cut the jugular" mindset.
  9. Tennyson and Griffith in the line up still. FFS, let Baptiste use his speed on the third line.
  10. Exactly, because Myers, and Armia have done nothing. While there is still time for Lemieux to possibly pan out. The O'Reilly trade is still a slam dunk.
  11. The real question that I have here with Tkachuk is if he skates better than his older brother. Or is it the same power stride sluggish skating, which is average at best.
  12. I have decent seats, well priced. Raanta is back, anything is possible. LMAO. With all seriousness, can we stop playing scrubs in premier scoring chances. See any prime scoring chance with: Moulson, Griffith or Tennyson.
  13. Moulson and an asset to Vegas for Garrison. It sheds the term and you can move on with just one year of salary. The ideal trade with Vegas would be to move Bogosian when healthy to them for Garrison. It removes the extra term, and while you lose an asset you trim the fat.
  14. +1 - This is definitely a need to happen. Stop fixing things on the fly. Which isn't something Botterill seems likely to do. I believe he's probably talking to anyone/everyone with the attempt to upgrade the roster / make changes need sooner than later. He has prefaced the need for renewed patience, which is annoying, but the team speed is still far away from what it needs to be.
  15. Bogosian and Borgen to Vegas for Garrison. (Cap related). I'm just tired of seeing him on the IR and this team needs to just move on. If we could buy a one year meh contract in Garrison to move out from Bogosian at the cost of William Borgen, or someone like Fasching/Baptiste. I'm ready to dump and run.
  16. I have faith in the moves that were made in the sense that Pominville has been undeniably rejuvenated by playing on Jack's right side. In terms of Scandella, who is coming off of major hip surgery; I would give him his due time to come into form. The defense is definitely an issue. The bottom six is a mess, and Lehner/Johnson have been terrible so far. One saving grace is that Botterill did not go out and spend up superfluous amounts on mid tier talent. They tried to create depth with low cost one year deals. Most of these can ultimately be traded off or waived. So the bad (contracts): Moulson, Bogosian; we are likely stuck with unless a miracle happens. Okposo has some form of NMC/NTC, and at his salary should start picking it up. He could be desirable to another team. All in all it's a transition (again) that no one wants to see. I personally am tired of losing to teams like (Vancouver, Las Vegas) and others in that similar boat.
  17. With what going back. I don't really see them having much to offer, unless it's a package of Chytil, Vesey, and Day?
  18. A Housley "Hot Seat" thread. HAH. It has more to do with players needing to get their heads out of their . Okposo, O'Reilly, time to ship up boys.
  19. Start Johnson, bring up Ullmark, find a taker for Lehner.
  20. Start Johnson. It was a pleasant surprise to see Bailey on the scoring sheet last game. Press the temp and O'Reilly wake up!
  21. I can take it over if you want is this fantasy hockey?
  22. He definitely isn't, it's disappointing with this start, but there are several reasons not just Jack Eichel that we're struggling.
  23. Can we put Lehner on waivers claim Pickard and move on with our lives? FFS! That wrap around shorty was ridiculous and once again he cannot stop a shoot out goal. Like his personality, but he's so frustrating.
  24. It was Pommer, which is fitting on so many levels!
  25. I think he said it best. I've proven nothing. If you look at it, I've put up two mediocre seasons on a losing hockey club. I want to stay in Buffalo and help them win. He's Buffalo hockey. He has the Boston street mentality that he'll put in the work to bring it back.
