  1. Meh. All that's needed to say! :)
  2. Botter it is!
  3. What does band talk have to do with Botterill :P
  4. I'm just going to call him GO-BOT, because he's in disguise being a behind the scenes badass.
  5. QFT, That was very spot on! He's also got ties to the organization and seems like a tireless worker. (Similar to Murray, just not as brash)
  6. First off, this is really a thread? :wallbash: Second off the he's on the last year of a crappy deal. Let him play out his role on the bench and help mentor Guhle, and a few other youngsters we add.
  7. Stanley Cup - Buffalo Sabres. Though seriously, that is some serious hardware. I'm just happy this is finally over so we can start moving in the new direction.
  8. See that seems a little absorbent, unless that's what it will take to lock him in. He's right in the Monahan range for cap hit.
  9. I would put Monahan, MacKinnon's deals in contrast when bringing up his next, first true contract. IMO, that's both fair and realistic. He's gotten better, but there are still parts of his game he needs to work on.
  10. I walk straight up and take him, regardless of the RD vs LD issue.
  11. If Colorado hasn't learned from it's previous mistakes it will draft one of Makar or Heiskanen at 4. I could be completely off base, but they are as bad if not worse defensively than Buffalo.
  12. Cal O'Reilly is a career AHL talent as well. We won't see Derek Grant back in Buffalo for sure. Unless there is some drastic rush of injuries and we make a lazy waiver claim.
  13. Between Valimaki, Liljegren, or a centermen prospect like Middlestadt, Glass or a winger like Tippett (Who I'm not that high on). There are a number of talents that can be there and just fine for the Sabres. The only player I would die to have in Sabres blue and gold is Gabe Vilardi. I think he's the best talent outside of Hischier in the top 10. With no slights to Patrick.
  14. This is just a similar pattern with a new general manager. However it doesn't mean anything Tocchet was a solid NHL player, but I really don't see him being a strong coaching candidate. I'd much rather go in a completely different direction. So I agree with what most will say. Getting Botterill is a nice get, as he checks off a few boxes like Dubas, Chyka and the new NHL prototype GM. Implementing an old style NHL coach doesn't seem to make much sense outside of communication purposes.

  16. I would assume that the roster will have some turn over for sure once the General Manager is in power. Outside of Jack, ROR, Ristolainen, Okposo (unless someone really wants him) and a few guys on the strongly holding onto (Reinhart, McCabe) everyone is openly available at the right price.
  17. We'll know when they announce it obviously. There is no time table though I would expect it by mid next week at the latest. The longer it goes, the shorter the window will be to get a coaching staff, and scouting staff in place for the draft.
  18. Bogosian should be bought out if on the bottom pair at 5.136M - gross. I'm good with Kane and a 3rd for Brodin if that can happen. He showed an uptick in offense this past season and still has decent stick work. He'd be an ideal pair mate for Ristolainen.
  19. Ryan Murphy is bordering on bust, and if that's what you want to trade Kane for, I'm a bit afraid of your future proposals. Kane is worth a bit more than that. The Fowler trade makes some sense, but I'm not as fond of him as others are.
  20. If that's the case, they should take Bogosian whose cap hit is higher :D Moulson being gone is fine too.
  21. All of this is sound judgement. I also really agree that Ennis and Moulson are on the outs within the top 9. Ennis is skilled enough, but when finally healthy looked like a cast off. Moulson is just not what he once was. Here's hoping Ennis is shipped to Vegas and we can pay 50% of moulsons contract to get him out of here. Kane / Nylander - O'Reilly - Okposo Kane / Nylander - Eichel - Reinhart Foligno - Larsson - Bailey / Carrier / Gionta Carrier / Rodrigues - Girgensons - Gionta / Bailey / Baptiste / Fasching Extra: Moulson / Ennis (whomever is not claimed) LD (Draft/FA) - Ristolainen McCabe - Bogosian Antipin / Guhle - ________ (UFA) Extra: Falk and Gorges Lehner Ullmark Pederson
  22. See I'm happy to see Liljegren fall to Buffalo, this is the same thing that happened last year with Chychrun, and he turned out just fine. Putting up respectable numbers on a terrible Coyotes team. He still has areas to improve in, but we want the best defensive prospects we can add! This is the draft to take him!
  23. The system is broken, but to be honest, I'm fine with #8 for Buffalo. We'll get a nice player at the slot and continue to improve our back end. Whether it's one of the Finnish defensemen or someone falls. Who knows.
  24. We don't need the #1 pick in this draft, second or third would suffice.
  25. I have to admit I haven't done much research on Middlestadt or Pettersson. I prefer Vilardi to most everyone outside of Hischier.
