  1. This is what you want though? A guy who has no real substantial upside? He's meh, completely underwhelming. Regardless if you like Bloom or not. This is just about as blah a return as possible.
  2. Tonight's game will show a lot towards whether or not they will be pushing for a playoff spot. I see a lot of upside in the offensive side of the game, but they still have to be better away from the puck and I agree w/ what a lot of people are saying we could use an upgrade at 3C/4C. Someone who plays a more thorough two way game. Think Cizikas but not as ancient.
  3. Completely fair on Murphy for a 3rd. You're probably right. You can find functional players from Rochester for that. Rousek, screams "Give me a shot".
  4. Rosen and a 3rd for Connor Murphy. This is something that makes sense for the Sabres, signed for one more year, we give up a tradeable asset in Rosen and a middle pick for an upgrade on this defense core.
  5. Wow, let's trade for an overperforming middle six forward on a terrible team. I'm so not giving up assets for a player like Sam Lafferty. That's a waiver claim type move. I just don't get giving up any sort of tangible assets for him. He's a solid nhl regular, but he's a marginal upgrade over Jost/Asplund at best. Pass, so easily.
  6. I'd be okay with giving up Rosen in the right trade.
  7. Congrats, what I loved coming into this season was that Cozens was out to prove that he had more to show offensively, and he's just done that. Since the World Championships, he's been a possessed human being. He's a hockey rink rat, and just wants to get better. He's the best forward entering the zone/carrying the puck and our best face off centermen. He's physical and responsible. This is a GREAT deal for the Sabres and for Cozens, to know he's here and part of the core long term. Congrats to Dylan!
  8. 18 goals, 23 assists for 41 points. I think that's about what I'd expect. Which is a pretty good first season.
  9. Like the player don't feel it moves the needle too much of a ton. Again, I really think it's about adding another competent defender, and maybe a strong two way center for depth.
  10. Do better? So having already surpassed his career high in points, in top 3 in points for defensemen, doesn't mean he's not doing better. Versus a rigged popularity contest?
  11. He could have easily made the overall comments and someone wrote it for with him.
  12. He's my favorite Sabre since Miller left. I loved Reinhart for a long time, but, Rasmus is the embodiment of what we want in Buffalo. This is the superstar player we deserve. He's a blue liner, you build from the back. This just furthers my desire to get him signed ASAP long term.
  13. I think it's a "fair" trade, if you like Aatu Raty's upside. I'd say he's more likely as a ceiling of a 2nd round center. Beauvillier, needed a change of scenery and the 1st even though protected is still a 1st round pick.
  14. They fought hard and came out 7 of 8 points against a hard road trip. While it's not the ending we wanted, they fought! Good game from the boys.
  15. Furthermore, you see players like Olofsson, Mittelstadt, being active with their sticks. The defensive game of the forwards has improved. The aggressiveness on the puck is a defensive metric in it's own right. If you possess and truly attack the zone, you eat up the clock and defend your net in that presence. You're so right dudacek! I'd love to upgrade over Bryson. Bring in someone who can skate, but has the physicality to pair with Lyuba to give us that bite that we need.
  16. To be fair I'd welcome McCabe back if Bryson was included in the deal going back. He's a younger "Pysyk type" defensemen who I see being worked out of the line up sooner than later.
  17. It's interesting, but I'm not that interested in trading Peterka, he has the tenacious puck hounding that we need on this team. Again, of the top 3 lines, the players I'm okay moving are 1: Casey Mittelstadt. In the right sitting, I would consider Olofsson, I suppose, but it would take a strong offer. He's improved A LOT this year away from the puck, and you see his dedication to improving. He's a team guy.
  18. It just really depends on what they're looking for. To be honest. I think Meier is a hell of a player, but is he a huge need. Not necessarily. Then there's the lack of long term years. So it's a we'll see.
  19. Thanks, I've been around, just not as active as I should have been. This game, just made me smile. Shutting down a good team like this, just made me smile.
  20. Aside from the last 3 minutes, this was one of the more dominant games from start to start. I loved their bulldog mentality on the puck. Sucks that Samuelsson was dinged up. I think Clague is a very serviceable defensemen. The Thompson goal was filthy, and you can just see Power starting to gain confidence. So much fun!
  21. Jesus....that was brutal to watch, ty Cozens for bailing this team out. Plenty to learn from this.
  22. Very well said! He did a lot of little things. Yes, he hasn't been on the score sheet much in the last 5 games, but he's done just about everything you can ask otherwise. Sometimes you just go with what is provided, and tonight that was drawing in to leave Power there for the shot. He played a hell of a game. Having Olofsson already up to his near career high, having nearly 5 players over 20 goals, already is a god send. Dahlin is going to hit 20 this year. It's just been such a revitalizing force for this market. Just keep pushing boys!
