I believe the list of multiple SC winners for different teams is very short. Scotty Bowman is the obvious one.

No NFL coach has ever won a Super Bowl for 2 different teams. It about 10 years old, but here’s a Tour de Force on repeated success of GMs in the NHL. Warning, it’s long, but the message is short: it’s rare to have repeated success and hiring a “proven winner” is very far from a guarantee of future success. https://iveybusinessjournal.com/publication/debunking-the-proven-winner-myth-in-the-national-hockey-league/

Geez, Carolina is acting like one of my yo-yoing exes. “I hate you, but can’t live without you.”

There’s many things wrong with this culture: ”Aldrich sneaked into the bedroom of John Doe while he was having sex with a woman, and tried to join the encounter. He made his presence known by playing with John Doe’s feet in the dark.” Let ignore the sexual assault for a moment but why exactly was John Doe having sex in the same area as Aldrich? Is having sex with women a regular activity at film reviews? My guess is that this behavior is probably more widespread than the sexual assaults

It still needs some ALL CAPS words or phrases mixed in. Beliefs become facts when they are in all caps.

Contract is looking horrible now. Much worse than Skinner’s at his Krueger nadir.

No wins. Giving up 10 goals in consecutive games. Who are they tanking for?

Lol. Didn’t Briere want an equivalent of 3 1sts for him? -
Lots of talk about Mitts in this thread. People seem to remember him at the age of 22 and him playing like trash. But, let’s recall not just a year ago, Mitts was still playing like hot trash. His wingers were Jost and VO. He got real wingers near the end of the season and has been playing lights out since. Wingers matter. Not going to argue about not taking wingers away from CM or TT, but let’s not write off Krebs while his wingers are KO and Girgs.

I like the line changes. I think by using the previous year lines, players were too comfortable reverting back to how they played before. New lines means new roles and responsibilities. -
I may be drinking, but this made me a little emotional. This really sums up Hasek perfectly and I miss watching him. One thing that I regret more than not having the current generation get to watch him is that he never won a Cup for us. A damn shame. But we can all feel blessed for watching him play though. Truly Otherworldly. The only thing that nearly looked like Hasek recently was that ridiculous save Subban made last year. Think about that and realize it happened every game.

I believe it did. It’s a delayed penalty, so as long as the non-offending team retains possession, the puck remains in play. The problem is fluke plays like this. The play should have been whistled dead as soon as the offending team touched the puck, but it doesn’t work this way. I read more about it. The play gets whistled dead once the offending team regains possession. In this case, Laval didn’t. Still weird, because taking a shot on goal should constitute possession, unless it doesn’t apply to goalies.

Let’s hope so, we don’t want him fired in a couple months.
-
And I actually feel bad for players like Mitts. He’s had his ups and downs, but may not have seat when the music stops. One large contract means someone else isn’t getting one. I still have reservations about Power’s contract when it was mostly given due to his pedigree and our defense remains suspect.
-
And giving out huge contracts. Those are pat me on the back events too, but truly don’t mean anything unless they result in wins. Those will be celebrated much more.
-
The pregame tweet was a prescient excuse for them to lose.
-
How about no more extensions until they start winning.

So it begins. See him in a month or two. -
Sabres Sign Dahlin to an 8 Year 88 Million Dollar Extension

And this is why it took so long to get this done. A lot of effort must’ve went into the production of this video to make sure it was perfect. My guess there were arguments on whether they should show him in the all white uniform vs more goat head shots. -
Hate to piss all over this parade, but unless DG’s comments about Bryson were taken grossly out of context (or the compromising photos on his hard drive get deleted), he doesn’t sound like someone he plans on using as a #7D.

This is what you said: “The team has to be damn sure the player can contribute and contribute for a full 82 game + playoff season. Benson looks good now, but what does he look like in February after the grind of the NHL?” Sending Benson down because he’s a rookie and likely won’t be able to endure the grind of the NHL is sending him down for a reason that was apparent before he even walked into preseason. Basically nothing he would do in preseason would change his age and status in the NHL. That’s sending him down due to a predermined reason. You also bring up the point of sending them down due to “roster flexibility”. This is another issue that was apparent well before preseason. It’s not new. So, you brought up 2 reasons to send Benson down that have nothing to with his ability. These were concerns well before preseason started, so if KA or Donnie are going to use these reasons to send him down, why even have such players compete in preseason? Sorry, try again.
-
What kind of message would this send to players battling for a roster spot during preseason? If it was predetermined to send Benson back to the WHL, was this made clear to him prior to preseason? And to insert a guy like Rousek or Biro who were clearly outplayed?

We need to talk about Zach Benson making the team this year, 2023
kas23 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Which makes me think, what’s more valuable to his development: 40 NHL games or a whole season in the CHL? My guess is the NHL. WHL plays 68 games not including playoffs.
