  1. Cost cutting move. Ralph is cheap.
  2. Is he retiring or not? Because I didn’t see that word mentioned here. Until then, you’re right. Miraculous recovery come playoff time.
  3. I mean, Bolduc potted 19 goals last season at played at 0.5 PPG pace, all at the age of 22. No way we would get both Bolduc and Parayko. Maybe Parayko is a salary dump. Cap hit $6.5M.
  4. The amazing this, I think it came down to not blocking Levi, who he thought would be our starter 2 years ago. Meanwhile, Ullmark is on his 3rd team and Levi is still not starting material (and there’s a chance he’ll never be).
  5. The scary thing is, this would mean accountability occurred. I don’t think your quote is truly what will happen.
  6. Completely agree with this. Adams hasn’t been in charge for a while, maybe even the full time he’s been GM. He’s a mouthpiece of Terry and a consensus gatherer. The problem is he hasn’t had the right people telling him what to do or it has been disjointed and there has been no accountability below him. We need a single vision, not a collection of ideas. Hopefully Ruff or Jarmo is now providing this.
  7. I think grades are an afterthought for most schools when it comes to college athletes. $$$$>>>>>grades/classes
  8. Who is this Joe character? Joe, are you on here?
  9. This baby face chooses violence?
  10. Agree with this too. Otherwise, I would rather bridge Byram than give him away for a late 1st or even 2 late firsts.
  11. I don’t want futures for Byram. Preferably 1 NHL roster player va 2 with a diluted skill level.
  12. I think we are being bluntly objective in what Kesselring and Doan are and who they are not. There’s no candy coating here. We have hopes though. But we never drafted them, saw them grow before us, only to be tossed away. There’s no overly emotional connection to them (yet).
  13. We shouldn’t be looking at JP as a bad person. He can do as he likes and even decide whether to be a Sabre or not. That said, as fans, we really overvalue our players and choose to be blind to any shortcomings. He’s not a Sabre anymore, so some objectively has come back into view. He surely can score goals, but away from Thompson, his production really suffered. And he was a liability on defense. I feel better about him leaving than I did when Rhino left. He was an excellent player for us, especially in the final year. I’m not shocked he blew up.
  14. The 2 firsts and 2 roster players; most likely cap dumps like the spare parts we got in the ROR trade.
  15. Rossi got demoted to the 4th line, rightfully or wrongly, but this is what the Wild wanted to send us for a 1st line winger? lol.
  16. Agreed. People are acting like we had a playoff team these past few years and we just killed our chances by trading our 2nd highest scorer.
  17. Trading 2 NHL players, one proven top 6 forward and another proven top 4 defender for a player who’s never played an NHL game and not at the prospect level of a McDavid or Crosby? That’s steep. Is he that good?
  18. I just want a mean-spirited bastard who will not be a defensive liability and who can score a little when needed. Think a McLeod type player who is a complete dick.
  19. I guess “we’re gonna build through the draft” isn’t quite working.
  20. To show us they were busy working when nothing was done?
  21. He definitely asked for a trade or some ultimatum. Kevyn could easily say “No”, but he can’t say “Yes”. He’d automatically lose leverage. My guess is other GMs already know this. Hence, them being “difficult” to deal with.
  22. I think Rossi wasn’t treated fairly this past season. He’s an actual 2-way forward who put up 60 points. Sort of the same production we traded for Byram, but at least this may seem sustainable. He entered the doghouse in the playoffs because they placed him on the 4th line and as a result, played like a 4th line player. The guy is 23. I think he has a great chance of becoming more consistent. I view him as as a McLeod with a higher ceiling. I’m with you though, I wouldn’t send them Peterka for him unless more is coming back. I think Foligno’s best days are behind him, but still would be a positive addition, even if we’re paying him $4M for the next 4 years.
  23. I know Byram for Rossi could be viewed as sort of spinning the wheels, but Rossi on our team would be more valuable than Byram. I could think of worse trades (you listed them above).
  24. I don’t know much about Dobson. Young-ish, looks durable, and had a 70-point season 2 seasons ago, then went back to his average of 40-50. Which Dobson are we looking to add and is he worth 10+M per season?
