  1. Completely agree with this. Been to Prague a few times, and it has its charm, but nothing beats Tuscany. And Dubrovnik, staying at one of the resorts on the water outside the city, is like paradise. Have not been to Greek islands and not a big fan of Paris. Not a big fan of France for the most part, but Mount St Michelle and the Normandy coast is very nice. Have not been to other areas of France though.
  2. Sorry, I feel out of the loop. Why can’t Ratliff be our starter in Rochester? Does he need to go back to Juniors due to the age rules?
  3. And thank God for this. I’m glad we are playing our starters in preseason and not wonder which prospect will make it on to the club. Last year was a disaster in this regard. Let’s get the rust out now and start the season strong.
  4. Yeah. The guy is a POS. My guess is he would’ve done the same thing, and killed them, even if he was a half drink below the lower limit.
  5. This guy had a BAC of 0.087. A smidgen above the legal limit of 0.08. Goes to show, there is no safe limit of alcohol in your blood when you get behind the wheel. It’s also possible this guy would’ve hit them if he was completely sober. Unfortunately, it happens every day. I’m sure the vast majority of drivers who strike and kill a pedestrian or bicyclist are sober when it happens. Either way, a driver shouldn’t be drinking at all. Its dangerous enough sober. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/41245430/man-charged-death-gaudreau-brothers-had-087-bac
  6. “He mentioned that the Flames are willing to entertain offers for several key players, including forward Nazem Kadri, who has a no-movement clause but might be open to relocating east, closer to Toronto, though not necessarily to the Maple Leafs.” I have a team in mind for him.
  7. It’s obviously distracting to what really happened here and what we should be focusing on: 2 bicyclists are dead due to a drunk driver.
  8. I’m not sure he made an enemy. It’s a weird situation. Armstrong also sent EDM a 3rd in 2028 and whoever Paul Fischer is for basically nothing. I’m not sure why a more comprehensive trade wasn’t just consummated. From outside appearances, EDM must’ve known this was coming. Maybe EDM thought Armstrong was bluffing?
  9. I finally got around to watch this. I know they are presenting things as nice little tied up stories and don’t show the negatives, but it’s hard not to get excited after watching this. Mission accomplished on their part.
  10. Carolina just signed him to a 2 year deal yesterday.
  11. I have been to Europe over 10 times now and Italy still remains my favorite. Best food hands down. Would stick to the Florence region, but I’ve never been to Venice. Edit: I wouldn’t go to Italy without going to Siena.
  12. We should give UPL what he deserves. The only thing I ask is to sign him to a tradable contract.
  13. If no single player in our top 6 misses more than a cumulative 14 days.
  14. This is hilarious. I am a physician and my wife is as well. I have been smart enough to go work in Industry. She works for an extremely large corporate national healthcare system. If we won the lottery tomorrow, it’s laughable she would continue being worked like a dog. Correct, this isn’t the 50s, but it sure as hell isn’t the 90s either. People need to open their eyes.
  15. If any of the players above, plus Quinn, miss any appreciable time, we are in for another abysmal season. And another player is missing from that list too. We just don’t know who yet. And I also think one of these players will miss a good amount of time. It’s inevitable.
  16. This is sort of a pa-tato/pat-ato argument. It really doesn’t matter who is a “prospect’” vs who is just very young. They are essentially equal. It doesn’t matter where they are playing. On a lot of team, Quinn and JJP would still be the AHL, Benson would still be in Juniors. As for Power, you take a player who played exactly like Power did and he would still be in the AHL. The reason why he’s on our roster because (1) were the Sabres and we don’t block and (2) he was 1OA. Edit: Or, this was written by a team trying to obtain these “prospects” and they exchanged this “story” for future leaks.
  17. The plan to rebuild came well after he was initially injured and we know the trade request came before he was injured. Adams first year as GM, while Krueger was still coach, they went “all in” (in a Sabres sense) and signed Hall. This was done to appease a disgruntled Jack. There was no plan to rebuild at that time. In the beginning of that season Jack became injured and missed the majority of the season. It only then it became about the injury. Still, Jack being unhappy and wanting to leave came before the rebuild plan.
  18. Gosh, do we really need to go through this again? Eichel asked for a trade well before he became injured. The injury was a red herring. I guess we could say, why did Eichel get to the point of asking for a trade, but that was before Kevyn’s time.
  19. Big question about Farabee is still his health. I guess it’s true Jack didn’t bounce right back to his old self and I honestly don’t know if he’s now the same dynamic player we saw in Buffalo. I don’t watch him. But Farabee had issues last season and it’s not clear what they were. Here’s a quote: “From January 11 to March 14 — a 26-game span — Farabee was held without a goal and logged just four points.” Sounds like he would fit right in here. https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/philadelphia-flyers/analysis/flyers-thumbs-up-thumbs-down-joel-farabees-season-marred-aftereffects-neck-surgery
  20. We forget Adams traded Eichel during his first year as GM. He was incredibly poised, didn’t panic, and didn’t get fleeced. LV arguably got the better of that trade, but Kevyn’s hands were tied. And it’s still too early to prognosticate; it depends if PPG Tuch comes back and Östlund develops. Who knows about Krebs.
  21. Can we trade for this guy? Definitely grittier than Sabretooth.
  22. Fair enough. It’s hard to get out of the mentality that we aren’t guaranteeing NHL spots to lose on this team. It seems like it’s been that way for a while.
  23. Probably not, but it’s a bit disingenuous to say you only want to play in the NHL, but then you have other hidden stipulations. Just say you want to pick where you want to play. At least Vesey said that.
