  1. Maybe Jack will suggest an artificial patella?
  2. Would be very hesitant to pluck players from a team with a reported “culture” issue.
  3. My guess is that’s it’s like a tournament, but he’s getting paid a good amount. Maybe even enough to buy a new car. 🤷‍♂️
  4. Are you judging it a mistake because ROR would go on to win a SC and the Conn Smythe? That just too hindsighty for me. His success on the Blues had nothing to do with the Sabres at that point. Context matters and he was sent to a place that would accommodate him and put him in a place to succeed. That wasn’t going to happen on the Sabres. And since that SC winning season, it hasn’t happened again on the Blues.
  5. ) Team MVP - Should really be Donnie Meatballs. There’s no “I” in team. Without him, there would be no improvement. 2) Rookie of the Year - Muel 3) Comeback Player of the Year - Skinner 4) Unsung Hero (player who doesn’t get enough credit) - Okposo 5) Top Forward - Tage 6) Team Norris - Dahlin 7) Team Vezina - Anderson Edit 8.) Most improved player. (I knew I was forgetting something). - Dahlin
  6. Said another way, where would today’s team be without Tage on the roster? I know the possibilities are infinite, but I would guess a tire fire.
  7. I do agree, I would trade them pick 5 this year for pick 15 next year. But, that’s not how this works. So, I would go with pick 15 this year because who knows what next year will bring.
  8. In reality, it was Tage for ROR. I really don’t care if some worthless spare parts came back. They weren’t paid out of my wallet. Next, I can’t help what Johnson will do, but I haven’t really figured him into our plans and I don’t think the team should either. It’s also not the trade’s fault Johnson was picked either. A different player could’ve been picked instead. Now, ROR winning the Conn Smythe…are you suggesting that he would’ve won the Conn Smythe on the Sabres if we didn’t trade him? No, he was a malcontent here and really wasn’t going to contribute to winning in Buffalo. As I see it now, Tage is 24 and ROR is 31, and they are currently on very different career trajectories.
  9. Even it is, I still think it was a decent trade and would do it again.
  10. I wonder if the same applies to Bloom.
  11. Or Allen throwing for 415 yards and 3TD against the Seahawks the day after his grandmother died.
  12. Maybe not as much as Lehner has, but Leino did describe the feeling of being in jail in Buffalo as the influence for his clothing line. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1302179/amp
  13. The concept of a salary cap won’t be a thing for the Sabres for the foreseeable future. This was made clear by Terry at the JBott firing press conference. He wants more out of less. He has spent to the cap since he’s been owner and has nothing to show for it. He pointed out Carolina as a model of efficiency. Once the Sabres culture changes and they become a winning franchise again, then we may see spending to the cap.
  14. Neither has played any substantial time in the NHL, so they shouldn’t? I see that you are lumping Quinn in with JJP. That’s ok. But, everything Quinn has done this year says he deserves a spot in the NHL. He’s playing at 1.4 ppg. What exactly do you expect from him? Now, JJP is slightly below 1 ppg. I wouldn’t expect a spot to be handed to him, but he should be given every opportunity to win one come camp next year.
  15. If I were them and I got sent down to earn the salary equivalent 5 AHL games vs an NHL salary, I’d be pissed at that age. If the Sabres season was over, this would be a very different situation.
  16. Glad the Sabres are playing the long game here.
  17. I’m sure there was an equal number of people on here saying the same thing about Tage last year. I’m not saying Mitts is going to take a miraculous 180, but I think it’s a bit too early to be closing the book on some of our young players.
  18. Praise Be.
  19. 36 goals. And being paid $10M per year for that shouldn’t be confused with mistreatment. Lastly, next year I think Jack, Stone, and Pac may be the only players on the team worth anything because they are going to need to shed some salary in order to get them all on the ice.
  20. Too much of a risk to purposely add good, but bad goaltending for next year. We are a playoff team with a decent goalie, nobody should expect anything less. Especially given neither Levi nor Portillo are guaranteed to sign nor even be NHL-level goalies. I want 1 vet goalie to give us a s% north of 0.910 and signed for at least 3 years. If either Levi or Portillo still think they are the *****, then they can come compete and try to win the job. If not, 3-4 years (what it will take for them to develop) is too long for this core.
  21. It’s a very hard thing to study as well. Under the assumption that the NHL parent club is a perennial playoff team, with most of their spots locked down by proven vets, their AHL team is likely going to have more talent. Teams like the Sabres have/had been a talent vacuum and Roch has been laid bare.
  22. I really hope Vinnie comes back next year. Very good bottom 6 winger.
  23. I’m going with some last minute boobie touching, then he signs for our last game.
  24. Vesey and even Fox came out and said they weren’t signing with the draft teams. As far as I know, Portillo hasn’t done this (yet).
