I’m starting to fall into the camp that doesn’t need the big thunderous checks. Give me the non stop forecheck. Also, I wouldn’t judge Bailey after being on a line with Alex. I think Bailey could, at the very least, replace Girgs and do everything he does. Maybe more.

They’ve made that their style this year. I think in a playoff series their relentless forecheck would really wear a team down. Question is, could they sustain that pressure through multiple games? I think they could. Your other assessments seem to mirror what I think I’ve seen through multiple games this season.

Lucas you fool. I saw New Hope in the theater as a wee one. The one and only movie my family ever went to a theater to see. It was an epic thing for me and I’ve always been a fan. There were some downright awesome storylines in the EU. Star Wars was awesome because of all the books, games and fan fiction that fed off each other to create something irreplaceable. Something that was just dumb fun. I liked Rogue One even though it was new cannon. TFA was not good but there was still a hope to see my childhood heroes being heroic again. TLJ was a huge disappointment. I hate what they’ve done with Luke. He goes from budding Jedi master, resister to the dark side, destroyer of the Sith, to a batshit crazy homeless person? Get the F out, Rian. That sucks. Why in hell throw out the EU? Your so fantastic and imaginative that you can outdo a forty year collective work? Go F yourself, Rian. Disney creates this character, Snoke, who is supposed to be an ancient super power, watching the past trilogies happen, and in the middle of his first dialogue he is outwitted by his apprentice? Sliced in half you say? His Elite Praetorian Gaurds watch his body fall to the floor but don’t react? The scene where Rey has the telepathic encounter with Ren and he doesn’t have his shirt on and she gets all sorts of flustered had no business being in any movie. Rey, the next great Jedi, the only hope for the resurrection of the Jedi order, is horny. Go F yourself, Rian. The endless running away? The whole second plot that was a complete waste of time? I didn’t like the story or the way it was told. You knew that wasn’t really Luke. Instead of hopping on a ship and ending Kylo’s rule once and for all, he was burning the force tree with all the Jedi texts inside. Once again, Rian. I’m done with Disney’s Star Wars. I’ll go back to the cannon I know. My buddy Rian is going to direct an Old Republic trilogy? HAHA! Goodbye Revan and Malak. You never existed.

Three Dmen on the ice at the same time.

Hitting the ground(or ice) hurts a lot more than it used to. Took the whole week off from the gym and am staying off the ice too. My shoulder didn’t fair well in the crash. I took a drive to Cabela’s in Cheektowaga to pick an atv plow and by the time I got there, I thought I was going to need a walker to get inside. All the laying and crawling around on the concrete floor to install it was rough. This is coming from a rugged Iron Worker.... I felt like a little old man by the time I was done. No more skating in baggy pants, dummy.

D’oh! I just wiped out hard at free skate. Landed on the same hip but decided to include my shoulder into the fun. I’ve had it surgically repaired so I don’t to be banging myself around like this. I’m starting a new project Monday so I need to chill the F out on the crazy. And the stupid. I’m obviously not a very stable genius.

His skating looks lazy. I don’t remember that from last year. I have a spinal fusion at L5/S1 so I know low back pain and this kid skates like he’s having problems. Maybe that’s what the LBI was? Maybe it’s all in my head too.

I keep waiting for Nylander to do something. He’s not ever possessing the puck. He’s not making plays. His skating seem wonky too. Overall they were badly outshot. 41-28. Taylor was not happy with the level of effort. If you want to stay on top then you need to be hungry every single game. They weren’t today. They were ok with getting just one point. I also add that although Guhle had an assist, he really looked shaky. Turned the puck over twice for good chances for the Comets. Another thing that bugs me about the kid is the damn hooking penalty he takes every game. He gets himself fooled by a deek and ends up hooking.

Having grown up a Nordiques fan, I know what it’s like to suffer. I was faithful all the way to the end. After they died, I tried to like the Avalanche but it wasn’t the same. I was a man without a team, then I moved to WNY. Amerks won the Cup my first year here and I started falling in love again. I started watching more and more Sabres games and soon I found myself falling for them as well. I’m guessing I was falling in love with WNY as much as anything but I had learned a lesson to NEVER take my team for granted. I’ll die a Sabres fan whether they have won a Cup or not.

I found some sirloin tip toast at my local Big M yesterday for $2.99/lb so I grabbed a small 3 lbs. I seared the fat side in a very hot ceramic skillet and threw it in the crockpot with nothing but 2 cups of beef broth. Tossed in a cup of rice and a 1/2 cup of pasta towards the end. Melts in your mouth. The wife and both cats were purring through dinner. Stuffed my belly then crawled into the napping nook in the loft. I can digest and listen to the game downstairs. Once my belly goes down a bit I’m going to finish the growler of Rohrbach’s blueberry ale I opened after riding today. I’m going to get a 10 pounder tomorrow while they still have it.

GD it, Woody, you were right. Ended up bruising my damn hip Friday. I decided my body needs a break from the gym so to get my endorphins I decided I’d get the 4 wheeler out. Once I blazed my 1/4 mile track things got fast. Loooove riding in mud and I get an even bigger drift-rush in the snow. After 3 hours there was plenty of mud stirred up so I got all I desired. What a friggin great day. I must have had 3 foot banks built up in the corners!
