Dude I wish this OT wasn’t swallowing me up. I had a great time with all you guys. If they can make it to round 2 I’ll be winding down by then I hope. Well just have to do another meet up. First and second rounds at the bar are on me!..... Seriously.

I’ve done far worse. 7/18’s when we completed the chain of bridges over the river in Corning. It’s the bed I’ve made. Work hard, play hard. When I’ve had enough I take a few consecutive months off. That’s one thing that brought me into this. There’s a lot of freedom in my business. I dropped out of a chemical engineering program to live this life. I’ll be ok. There’s a lot more folks busting ass for far less than I make. I’m a very lucky man to be able to retire with income for life at fifty five. Besides, the world needs its knuckle dragging Ogres.

I’ve been working 6/10’s for 2 months now. The OT was getting old so they’ve upped the schedule to 7/10’s. By the time the workload lightens to the original 6/10’s, I will have worked 20 straight days. Add in the 2 hr round trip commute and you’ve got a life that’s been suspended. Held hostage if you like that term better. Missing my wife. Missing Amerks hockey. Missing sleep. The only bright side is the $$. The weeks that included Sunday gross about $4G between pay in the check and benefits. Nine more years until I hang up the tools for good. That’s a plus too I guess.

Everything Sabres Uniform Related - Royal Blue Please!
Ogre replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
I remember these even though I was far removed from being a fan. If there was one sweater I liked as much as my white Nords, it was the white Sabres. I’m all in. The winter classic ain’t too shabby either. -
Before Little Bear moved in, Hobey refused wet food unless I made it into soup. After a few years dealing with a much smaller, much hungrier cat, Hobe eats from the can. Literally.
-
Little Bear had a pinky sized tumor on her tongue when we saved her. After surgery there were several days of bloody tongue hanging out of the mouth. She sprung back into a feline eating machine. Common sense tells me your cat<name> is going to be fine. Get your hand blender out and purée some wet food with copious amounts of water and let him sip it up.

In a few weeks it will be nine months since my mother passed. I have been having a difficult time with this whole thing. Growing up Elaine was a shield from an aggressive and stern father. I was her little handyman. I could fix anything for her. Anything except cancer. There wasn’t a thing I could do about that. I can’t even listen to that AWOL nation tune Handyman because I’ve made such a direct connect with my feelings for the loss of my mother. I’ll never come to peace with it. I’ll always be haunted. I had a dream two nights ago that I was walking down a very crowded hallway. I look over to my right and she’s there against the wall. I’m overwhelmed to see her and run over and hug her tight, only to have her disappear in my arms.

Seems about right. I was hanging upside down.

I picked up a six pack of Busch Ice pints. Say what you will. It’s a good Union made pain killer.

Last time I was on the monkey bars was 38 or so years ago. Got punched square in the nads by Angela Martin. Never did em again.

Vortex of nothingness. I’ve been making that drive 6 days a week for 2+ months and the price of gas hasn’t changed atoll. Not even by a tenth of a cent.

I saw a chubby 20’s something dude in the convenience store at the intersection of rte 63 and 20 tonight. He was wearing a Notre Dame hockey jacket and I thought “no way that’s the kid”. You think that sometimes and then you’re wrong and feel foolish. I’ll googled when I got home. Sure. Could’ve googled then and there but my indifference was amplified by my fatigue. Not him. Sorry to waste your time.

I would absolutely do a two way deal. You’ve seen the stats. I’d like to see how many of these guys get invited to camp.

Schedule is released Monday.Excuse me. They go on sale Monday. They played a good game vs Marlies last with their seconds on ice. Marlies like always get away with multiple counts of interference and Amerks still outshoot and eventually topple them in OT. I’d feel good about facing either team in round one.

Bring it on.

Or he’s pretending. Sounds like a Seinfeld Del Boca Vista episode is brewing down there....

This is not another crappy Sabres game. This is actually fun.

You should tell your friend that it’s snowing like a moron at home and that he should appreciate S Florida while he’s there and not waste his time with another crappy Sabres game.

I like Blackwell too. I really think he’s one of those guys who will only get better. He had 11 pts/-7 in 57 games for San Jose last year and is at 40 pts/+15 in 56 games in his second pro year. I hope he is back next year.

Mother in winter. April 5 and I started my day to a lovely 20 degrees with wind. If you make your living outside, you have more than earned your keep this winter. The sun is strong enough to burn your face today only to have driving snow beat it in tomorrow. Sooooooo sick of it.

Guhle really should play another year in Rochester. As for Nelson, don’t let him fool you.

This has been interesting in a good many ways for me. SS really is an anomaly in the greater grandness of existence. I have no dog in his fight. I do know that I really like Aud and respect his points of view. I also know that until today I had zero idea that John Warrow was a real person. No offense, John. I’m not in your area and I live an unusual life compared with the masses you are writing to. Again, I mean no offense, but you have seemed to deride the anonymity of this forum, and if find it very ironic that you were/are in fact completely anonymous while using your own real name. At least to me, John. Not anymore. I hope you do stick around. Hockey loves everyone.

I got my wife a few of those adult coloring books and a simple set of colored pencils on a whim as a stocking stuffer at Xmas. Turns out it the perfect way for her to unwind after a grueling day in the office. She’s found so much serenity in it that I got her a big bad set of pencils to compliment her new habit. I prefer drugs and alcohol to unwind, but to each their own I guess.

Technically I paid for it. The fund is a medical supp fund. My precheck monies go into the fund without paying tax. If an administrator decides if the uninsurable items will be covered then I can use my own money. I’ve haven’t contributed to this particular fund for several years, opting to put in into an annuity.(also without tax). It’s all my money that I have to ask for which rubs some people the wrong way but your right, nice benefit.
