  1. SO win!! Huge goal from Asplund to tie it up with 11 sec left.
  2. Crisco and Nylander look good together.
  3. What does the asterisk next to Matthews’ name mean?
  4. Nylander was the last man off the ice from warmups. Taking little shots up close to the net, looking over his shoulder every few minutes to see if the last two Tigers had left the ice yet. I approve.
  5. I agree with all of this and the text in bold happened a few times last night. He was in the d zone and had plenty of space to get the puck to a teammate when the forward started checking but he instead dumped it up the boards giving it away. The A would have been the best spot for him this year. He would be tearing that league up.
  6. What if this doesn’t happen? I’m no NHL trade guru. In fact I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. I see a lot of trade ideas that basically gut the remaining depth in the A and wonder what everyone’s opinion on what the rosters of our developmental leagues will look like in these scenarios? Do we hope the Cyclones can fill the holes we create in the Amerks roster and still get a deep run in the playoffs? Does it even matter if the Amerks are successful? What role does organizational depth play in long term overall success of an NHL club? I don’t know the answers but I suspect it’s better to be patient. Establish success in the other leagues first. Have a deep pool of depth players that can be called up and produce without disrupting the development of other players that maybe have a higher ceiling. It’s liking baking a killer cake and taking it out of the oven before it’s done because you really want to taste it. Doesn’t make sense to me. This makes me question what happens with everyone else that’s currently playing who don’t appear on your 19/20 roster?
  7. “ McDavid alleges that Manning told him he intentionally tried to hurt him the prior season.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tsn.ca/oilers-acquire-manning-from-blackhawks-for-caggiula-1.1233637%3ftsn-amp “Manning denied the allegations.” Looks a great team dynamic on the rise...
  8. Very awesome win over the Marlies 5-1...
  9. This is a random dealership story but I think it may brighten your current experience. Years ago while saving for the house I bought a plain Jane Chevy Aveo. $9,995 brand new. It was a traveling gang box. Perfect for time I was in. A few years later I go back to the place I bought it from for NYS inspection. They fail it because the wiper arms are rusty and not making good contact with the windshield. Oh by the way, you’re 14 miles over the warranty. It’s going to cost $200/arm with labor. Oh yeah? I rode my bike down there first thing next the morning and sat in the waiting area. Someone new comes in and I’m right over there explaining my situation. All. Friggin. Day. The next day, after I’d been there 3 hours, the service manager calls me over. ”Dude if you shut the ***** up and go the ***** home, I won’t charge beyond the NYS inspection..... DEAL!
  10. The Foot Clan jammed that big nasty toe up the Turtles’ ***** tonight. 4-0.
  11. Oglevie is out indefinitely, Porter is week to week and Vellieux is serving a 2 game suspension for Neanderthalism so we’d be short a forward.
  12. Just need to add....... got out of the tub and while closing the lid I notice a bunch a deer all lined up out back by the composters. I gasped a little. Enough booze for me for tonight?
  13. That’s easy. Santa’s magic. He’s a Sabres fan! Maybe he’ll give ‘em a wink and we’ll see some playoff hockey? I’ll echo your sentiment, my Wyld friend. This place is very special and unique. We’re from all walks of life. We are from all points on a compass. We come from across oceans for crying out loud. I sincerely hope everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying whoever they’re with, wherever they are.
  14. There’s enough to go around... I’ll leave a slice out for you?
  15. The grochowka my MIL makes isn’t really a soup. You still need a spoon to eat it but definitely not a soup. This is the first year since I’ve been in the family that she’s made the borscht. It was awesome. The Russians make their borscht with meat but the Poles version is vegetarian. I love beets(and have a ton in storage)so I will be making it often. I eat the kapusta but I’m not a big fan. I’m not crazy about sauerkraut to begin with but to stew it with all that other stuff....oof.
  16. Traditional Polish Xmas eve meal. Kielbasa, kapusta, perogies with buttered onion, grochowka, borscht with sour cream..... I made the deserts...Eggnog custard pie with sugar cookie crust, cheesecake with homemade strawberry syrup and a wild black raspberry pie... My belly hurts...
  17. I really thought Borgen was solid all night. Paetsch was in the lineup though and his best hockey years are waaaay behind him. I missed Porter and his back check last night. I really missed Dalton Smith last night though. His stats(besides PIM of course) don’t suggest that he is bringing a lot but that dude brings so much fire to the ice. Bump in the road. Back to back vs. Hartford at home Friday/Saturday.
