  1. I'd say that kid has some wheels. That was nuts.
  2. Wouldn't that be a crap series? "I'm Darcy Regier. From the clan Regier."?
  3. One trouble a new poster has, especially one who is chronologically challenged, is keeping up with the vast amount of information presented. I will seek out this cigar thread. Thanks man.
  4. GD rags. I don't fully understand why. I really want to see Tampa take the east.
  5. Whatcha got in that humidor? I'm curious what other folks like to smoke. Mine has a few cubans(my buddy does missionary work and was able to sneak a few back.) I've filled the rest with mostly macanudo and man o war. I've fallen in love with man o war's virtue. Burns even. Has a nice easy draw. Medium flavor. Nice long cut. No spitting out chunks. There are a couple of 5 vega Gold as well. They are very mellow. Good for the golf course. I'm getting the macanudo and man o for $3 a stick so I burn em right up. Cigars international beats Thompsons hands down. Unless you get into that auction scene. I'd rather get what I like when I want to get them.
  6. I wasn't certain how I felt about Murray at first. He's a weird dude which is cool. Not afraid to pull the trigger which is great. The more comfortable he becomes as a GM the better he gets. I feel confident he will hire a good coach for the current situation.
  7. I am most likely the last person anyone should ever listen to about anything. You have set me to thinking though. I've had a similar revelation. Girl from 20+ years ago. She is perfect. I'm too worried about booze and drugs at the time. Rick James is right. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. I didn't even care when she left. At the time. I was very handsome and popular with women. Life keeps you going forwards though. Being an Ironworker for 25 years has given me good excuse to be wild and reckless for a good portion of my life. A seemingly endless number of regrets. We snap out of it though and continue to improve the lot we have plowed for ourselves. We marry a very fine lady that loves us even though we are/were bad. Then you hear her name again. It's been 20 years. You realize what an you were for hurting her the way you did. You can picture how it would have been if you only had a brain back then. What a dope! The line keeps moving though. Now I just love my wife as much as I know I can. I pour my guilt into my devotion to her so I can honestly say that I'm better than before. That's what makes me feel better. You do have one up on me. I saw your pic of that little mini me of yours. That is priceless my friend. If you are at an Amerks game you should stop by 214 B14. I'll buy you a beer. Oh and one look at me and anyone feels better about themselves. That's no joke bro.
  8. I appreciate you posting this, Shirley. I am back in stoopid busy mode and I could have easily missed this. Pigs in Zen. All of them. As for the tinfoil. No shame in that. It's part of my name after all. We should be watchful and cautious. Is that paranoia? The older I get the less I need it though. What was once a native tinfoil tuque is now a PGA sun visor. It's not as intrusive. I've learned after 4 years of marriage that I must be able to read my wife's mind at times. It's my first marriage. I waited until I was 38 to do it. She has been accepting of my particular style of weird so I decided I'd give it a try. Anyways. I like to use this type of article during brainstorming sessions with apprentices. I present a story like this and give them the task of finding a solution. If there is ever going to be a savior it will most likely be a young person. No?
  9. "Well, I ain't no movie star but I can get behind anything. Yeah I can get behind anything..."
  10. If we are to understand how labor unions have affected wages as either a detriment or boon to profit we should first explore living/working conditions compared with profit pre union era. Working conditions were down right dangerous and inhumane. Human life was second to profit. We have ALL received the benifits of the hard work and diligence of people like Gompers, Debs and good old Mother Jones. She was still advocating for the miners on her deathbed.(besides the chinese "slave labor" that built the railroads the miners were abused the most IMO). Thanks to these folks the days of Pinkerton mentality have been put in check. Sadly, that sort of hatred toward the everyday Joe who seeks a living in the USA still exists in the minds of some. The revamp of factory for war-time production boosted labors significance in society. FDR called in union labor to review and help guide the revamp as to maximize productivity.(He also famously said he'd join a union if he went to work in a factory.) Any profit minded factory owner(Let's face it. For some people ideology is number one.) saw this increase in productivity and went all in on union labor. Competing to get the best of those workers. Those were the good days for everyone. Union leadership is elected by the membership to a specific term. I am a bit confused if people mean original union leaders like Gompers and Debs or the likes of a Teamster general president? Gompers and the like were good people and I will argue their merits to my grave. I will agree, though, there have been general presidents and other offices that have been elected too many times and lose their grip on whats best for the membership.(That is a fault of the members becoming complacent and re electing the bum.) Today that sort of corruption has been regulated and legislated out of existence. Any money spent by unions today is scrutinized. All apprentice programs are watched closely by the DOL. Political action funds are rarely used due to the paper trail that needs to be filed and followed. It's a hardship for some smaller locals to give to a local politician! The 80's really was a down turn for organized labor. People got fat and lazy. Reagan did his thing. Slowly the good things like pensions and health care were left off the table for new hires. Slowly things progressed to where we are now. A whole lot of people struggling to make the rent and feed the kids. Retirement saving is non existent with the end being near for some. That breaks my heart. Will employers fix these things on their own? Because it's the right thing to do for those that have given a lifetime of service? Some will. Most will not. I have a personal story that would speak to that fact. Some other day though. I don't intend to offend anyone. All of this is just opinion.
  11. My wife works late all week so I'm home alone in the evenings. When I'm alone at home I like to be comfortable. I'll hang out for a while in a towel after a shower. I'll watch hockey in boxer briefs and a tee. My mother in law just walked right through my front door with no warning. No knock. No phone call. Just walked right in. Thank God I was wearing pants. She did have fresh cookies but... Thank God I was wearing pants. I've already called my wife. This can not be a regular thing!
  12. I'm guessing St. John's is in the North simply because they move to Laval soon. Overall I think the realignment is as perfect as one could except. The only losers are the cities who had ECHL replace AHL. IMO.
  13. Sweet! Thanks for posting this. Absolutely! Glad I renewed my season seats.
  14. Don't be afraid to leave them pinkish inside. They'll be tender and juicy. Loin? I assume. Today's pork is safe to eat medium.
  15. Thanks, weave. No need to transcribe. I can look that up. I am all about food.(and drink) Smoking is a family heritage but I am new to it. It is certainly an art. I preheated over direct heat. I've learned that is bad. Bread Baker's Apprentice book. I love it already.
  16. Mmmm. I brew a dark gingered ale. Hops and ginger hold hands and skip across my taste buds. I need to get a bottle of tequila now.
  17. Well it got me. Do you have a crust recipe for stone? I'd appreciate it.
  18. Isn't that why we do our best to live with integrity? So we don't shame ourselves and negate all of our accomplishments?
  19. "He barely attempted to forecheck." Duh. It's Vanek. "He hung out by the far blue line." Again. Duh! "He has come close to justifying his existence on the roster.." Oof!
  20. I tried my second pizza on my stone in the smoker. The first was perfect. I really messed this one up. Sauce replaced with olive oil, tomato slice and parm. Worked great. I like the sharp cheddar on pizza. Peppers and baby bellas. Worked great. I burned the hell out of the crust though. Got my temp up to 400. Top was lovely. The crust was nuclear waste. Miserable failure. I preheated the stone 20 minutes. Too long? I'm glad my wife works late and missed this stegosaurus turd. At least there are cold homebrews.
  21. Habs go down with 1 second left. Subban shakes his head on the bench. Sorry kid. You suck. I'm all for the Lightning in this one. Montreal absorbed Pointe aux Trembles.
  22. Bruce is taking the stage this fall in Broadway's take on Stephen King's Misery. He plays Paul Sheldon. This is something I may have to see.
  23. Well. I went all the way. Slow and low means just that. The tendons get all supple and the skin. Good God, the skin. Luckily the homebrew was plentiful.
  24. Uh oh... I'm 6 deep and this skin hasn't crisped yet. Will I be ok?
  25. Home brewed black IPA while my plain old chicken wings smoke on low long coals... How many IPAs will it take?
