  1. Ruger makes a .308 with left or right bolt. M77 mark I I gunsight scout. The place that I just bought my escort m87 from had one in stock. Unbelievable gun. Expect to pay $900 for one. Escort makes a left handed 20ga semi. Reasonable price. Remington has the 870 express left handed. It's the same exact gun as the escort m87 I just bought so I can say first hand it's a nice gun. When I told my wife I had been to the "store" she said "you looked at that gun didn't you?" with a look on her face. I said" Baby, look at it like its a pair of shoes." She smirked. I bought it the next day. I love my wife.
  2. Fletch Lives? "Nice to meet you Mr. Dover." My memory is foggy. "Nice to meet you Ben."
  3. I just looked up Fourth. You're way out there by the northway. Next time you should take a day and drive up the northway to Keeseville. I can't remember the exact route(I think it's chasm road) but I'll ask my folks. It is the best road you will ever travel. I'm guessing a few hours from Fourth. You're close enough to catch Ausable chasm while you're there. Another gem of ADK.
  4. I'm guessing ADK?(thought that's what you said in the other thread) All week in one spot or did you migrate? The boat access only campground at Indian lake islands is a sure thing for me. Esp site 52. Lots of time spent at deer river flow(farther north). Deer river flow is like little Tupper. Free. Absolutely love that reservoir. Barnum pond has some real nice fishing. DeBar(Meacham lake) and Azure mtns are northern too and get over looked by most hikers. Well DeBar is the most northern high peak(I think) so the 46ers eventually end up there. I've got half of them left to do myself. Azure has a fire tower that has been restored by a local group. Get into the split rock region and I could show you all of the hand dug pools that are intended for fire fighting built back when the forest burned in the early 1900s. They are still there and still full of water. ADK is a national treasure IMO. Any mtn is a good one though. No matter which range you were at.
  5. I only own one used gun. My Topper model 158. It was a Bday gift from my father when I turned 12. I was far too petite and it kicked my ass but it's still my favorite. The 5 of us boys and dad never got along as well as when we were shooting. Guns are serious and there were strict gun handling rules. Shooting was polite and respectful. The only time any of us were gentlemen. Good old memories. My FIL's father and I were two peas in a pod. Everyone still calls me little Papa. I'm guessing that's why he wants to go shooting with me? I'm getting back into it the older I get to relive those old good memories. I'm simple like that. I haven't lived the hunting/fishing lifestyle for 25 or more years. A bit here and there but nothing near the amount a guy like me needs. Anyhow. I also have an awareness for the heartache a gun could potentially bring. I like good mojo at Baileyshire so I only buy new guns that I can trust are clean. I hope that makes some sense.
  6. I'm trying to stay away from synthetic stocks. I like Mossberg. I have a couple synthetic stocks. The Plinkster has one. They seem slippery to me. I have the space for skeet and want something that I have a good grip on. I should say my FIL needs a good grip on it. He's 70 and wants to shoot a bit with me. That escort has a beautiful walnut stock. I haven't held one yet. I'm going tomorrow to take a closer look. The reviews were very good. If you know of a good deal on the Mossbergs with a wood stock then don't be shy, man.
  7. Any one have any experience with Escort shotguns? I've been looking around for a 12ga pump deal. The store that I bought the Plinkster from has an Escort 12ga M87 for $270. Walnut stock with three chokes. Threaded for Remington parts. It's a Turkish import. Apparently this Hatsan Arms has an endless supply of walnut. I wasn't going pounce until I did a little research. Well, my wife buying six new pairs of shoes helped me make the decision too. $270, man!!! Can you believe that?
  8. Very nice, Weave. I would dice up a big ole pile of those peppers and cook myself a half dozen Glazier's hot dogs and make myself sick. Those tomatoes are from pots? I would have tried pots this year but we still had bad well water until a few weeks ago. I'm scaling back big time next year. I'm envious of that bounty you have on display there, mister.
  9. I have a south facing great room with the majority of the south wall(all 17 feet) being mostly glass. My starters were fabulous. I had to get them in the ground sooner than I wanted because they got so big. I put in a hundred or so.Everything sat in water so long I had root rot. I had standing water on all nine acres until mid July. I was dodging bullfrogs while cutting the lawn until a few weeks ago. The wildflower meadow did well. That's a bonus. Three acres of monarchs and honey bees. I am enjoying failing if that makes any sense.
  10. I'll never argue with results but I am so nervous watching a qb run so much. He did settled a bit after that first series. Nice throw by EJ.
  11. I'm glad you have done well. We have suffered. Record rainfall. This was our second summer here so we are trying to figure this land out. I'm considering a French drain after what we just went through. I would just scale back my plans and do some raised beds but my wife would like to do a road side stand. Just for fun. I'd be able to stock it with sunflowers and catnip(bumper crop). It really sucks losing my ghost peppers. I got very few last year and my whole seed crop drowned early this year. The worst part falls on my farming neighbors that needed the dry weather to pay the bills.
  12. I have been wondering how your crop turned out this season. I was going to revive that old thread. No need, eh? No one in my town ended up with much in their gardens. So much rain that the farmers that depend on it planted half of what they would have. My sunflower plot did well but I have failed on the rest of my hard work. No fresh salsa for me this year.
  13. I'm not trying to be a pill. I do not understand the concept of "following" someone. Maybe that is because I have a hard time with the idea of someone "following" me.
  14. I don't mind him as an emergency call up. I see his time with the Sabres much like Varone's. A couple games to fill a gap. Play like hell a few games and then fade away. He has enough in the tank for that. I'll agree though(if this is what you're saying) his chance for a full time NHL roster spot is all but gone. As far as the Sabres go. That's as far as I'm willing to speculate.
  15. I've been waiting for an official breakfast beer.
  16. Holy schnikies. I knew you didn't like Rudy but even as our AHL dman? I saw far too many crappy Amerks' games last year and he never seemed like the problem. I've seen him get beat down low a few times but he also won most of those battles. Skated hard to get back when pinching. Good shot on the PP. He is worth two Leducs and a Pelech to me. Will he get as many minutes with Randy? My guess is yes. I know very little though.
  17. I have broken my left wrist twice. I would advise PT at the least. Surgery sucks but can be necessary. I would chose the option that gave me the most strength. I would much rather have strength over mobility. You'll need it when you're old and broken. Those walkers can be tricky.
  18. I appreciate you putting this together, Hoss. I had high hopes for Carrier last year. His performance didn't match my hopes. I won't aim as high his year. Can't wait to see Bailey and Baptiste play. As for McCabe. I really hope he starts out this year like he ended last season. I really thought he looked lost half the year. And Rudy. I'd take him as a call up any day. I don't consider him to be a prospect at this point. Solid AHL player though IMO. I'm a faithful Amerk fan so I may have drank a bit of kool aid along the way. Mmmmm.
  19. The smell of wort. You home brewers know. I'm on the rail station rebuild/expansion project all summer so I've been a couple blocks from the genesee brewery. I could close my eyes when the breeze is from the right direction and swear that I am in heaven. I open my eyes and realize that I am under a bridge on St. Paul. We are doing another sweep for needles and heroin baggies. That 10 o clock regular shuffles by crumbing. It's not heaven, man. The wort is soooo sweet though. I love beer. I feel badly for that dude that's out crumbing. We go the brew house for a few. What a place. Twelve horse ale on tap. Tap only. Great place. Great brewery.
  20. I appreciate your observations. I have been a regular at camp except for the last two years. Time and circumstance catch up with me. I don't care who gets the call so long as they produce. I don't care about performance. I care about results. May the best option win...
  21. I live in the region. I drive by on 490 all the time. That's my link to the city. Everyone that I've talked to locally that have been to camp seem to think that Tyrod runs around too much and sets himself up for would be sacks. I haven't been yet. I can't say that myself. IMO that is as bad as a qb that is inconsistent in passing or a qb that is "meh". I look forward to live action. No excuses in preseason. Right?
  22. I get my .22 ammo at pro gun in Victor. I get the high velocity rounds and they are always in stock.
  23. That is great news, Bio! Dads are some tough dudes. I am glad to hear that he is feeling better. I hope that feeling trickles down to daughter as well.
