I think the biggest thing is people tend to get overlooked pretty easily when starting off and most of that comes because of the volume of posting done by our main members. It’s really one of those things where the more you post, the more interaction you will have. To an extent, you’ve gotta want to be involved in the conversation as well. I know when I started posting if I didn’t have anyone continue the conversation I’d get dejected. Now when I feel like posting something I just shoot it out and who cares. I would imagine the overwhelming majority were not on the board prior to 2010. This will be a completely different place when we are winning. Hell, we’re still only at maybe 50% of our “core” posters and then I know there’s a lot of people around my level that are posting significantly less (myself included).

Give it a winning season, things will get better.

I never know if people are being facetious with this stuff because I hardly ever know acronyms at first glance but it usually takes all of two seconds to discern.

This year alone I’ve had to twice deal with truck drivers calling employees at shippers/receivers racial slurs and threatening them. These things happen everyday and it’s truly unbelievable.

So basically you find league-wide where all of the goals on the ice were scored over how many shots were taken out of the location and then assign that specific location a value based on that. You can then take a shot chart for any goalie and put it against the league-wide average data. If a goaltender is letting in fewer goals than the average goalie would based on the shots he's faced, in theory, he's a better than average goaltender.

Of the shots he’s faced, he was expected to give up 66.6 goals. He has given up 56 goals, so he’s doing better than expected.
