  1. I find them incredibly easy to read. Also, appears this year’s slogan is “Actions Speak.”
  2. The rookies this year did a bunch of gifs like this during the rookie premier. This dance is called the floss. It’s popular in general but the game Fortnite makes it moreso.
  3. I think there are more than a few owners who are good at making it seem like they care. I think there are fewer that actually care. There are also a handful who THINK they care, and genuinely believe their actions are helpful and caring, but are wrong.
  4. Yes, I used hyperbole. It started an interesting conversation, though. And I’m surely not the first or most intelligent person to bring it up. Adrian Peterson, Colin Kaepernick, several people in response to Bob McNair’s “inmates” comment, Anthony Prior (former NFL player who literally wrote the book on this) and Philly writer Solomon Jones. The last one was from a quick google search about Jerry Jones and slavery because I remember it being a hot debate. Stephen A. Smith made a point about ALL athletes (not just black ones) the other day: those who are often in trouble with the law are more acceptable than those who speak out but behave properly. Why? Because those who get in trouble with the law are easier to control. They have to be docile. It makes sense; you’re in trouble you have to play along. But the owners seek those situations out more actively than those like Dez Bryant, Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid and the like. The exception to every rule is production and supreme talent. Because that’s cash.
  5. Does SDS care about us? ?
  6. I’m mostly optimistic and still not really holding anyone too much to the stats from these atrocious teams unless they were consistently playing with only the top players on the team and weren’t bombarded exclusively with the opponent’s best. That’d take some extra time to figure out here.
  7. I’m fine with that. They legitimately don’t care about their health. They want them on the field/ice as long as they can be but beyond that they do not care. That’s not the same as caring about their health. Your world is so peachy.
  8. I don’t generally, either. I do think team owners view the power structure as similar, though. And they certainly don’t care about their players’ health, even with all the evidence there are hundreds to thousands retiring with serious brain trauma and suicidal thoughts.
  9. Players have been loud and media always hypes up that they’re fighting for a good deal but everytime the Slav... I mean team owners win.
  10. It’s certainly the prove-it type deal and with a lockout looming there’s a chance the two-year deal appealed to him/his agent. If he plays out of his mind these two seasons and then the next CBA is very favorable to players he’d be in good shape.
  11. I’d be surprised if we got that. Surprised and very happy.
  12. McKenzie says Nylander and the Leaves still aren't anywhere near a deal and both sides want a long-term deal. That sounds like it'll get pricey for TML. This seems like a move that makes a lot of sense for Vegas. They've been aggressive on all fronts, and while they had a few big adds (Stastny, Pacioretty) this would be a player who could be a part of their core for a decade. They don't really have much of that set in stone right now.
  13. I can't think of any way this is a negative.
  14. Meh. They’ve been releasing a ton of classics from older consoles onto the PS4. Wish they’d just keep doing that. I have the Jak and Dexter trilogy on both PS2 and PS4. It’s the best gaming series not named Zelda, in my opinion. And it was the first open-world game with no loading screens. Other classics like Ratchen and Clank and GTA exist because of Jak.
  15. Yea, we're certainly still not among the elite in that regard but, as Taro noted, we should be able to place guys on a reasonable line for their overall ability and skillset. That's something we haven't had in years.
  16. The mother of LeSean McCoy's son, who previously said he has never abused him, said in court she lied and that he has abused their son in the past. She provided photos of bruises to their son to the court in an affidavit. McCoy denies it, saying she's doing it because they have a custody battle coming in a few months. Also, every single court document I've seen regarding LeSean McCoy, in this case and others, spells his name as "LeShawn." Including the one signed by his son's mother. Must be he spells it differently in sports vs legally.
  17. He showed up "vastly overweight" as one put it.
  18. It’s still very early but Thompson and Nylander are doing more than anyone could’ve expected for them to push for roster spots. This is a pleasant surprise, so far. Also, I’m still convinced Berglund is a huge get for this team for the next few years.
  19. Yup, Coleman was cut
  20. This is a list of mistakes you’d expect for a kid in his first career game. I thought LOOKED good and performed mediocre.
  21. If he’s consistently giving up 7 goals I’ll start to wonder if the other team is yelling “Blue 42, set, HUTT.”
  22. This makes sense for them. While he’s still elite they’ll have Pavelski, Burns, Vlasic, Couture, Jones, Kane and probably like 17 other guys I’m forgetting in their prime. It would be a disappointment if that core doesn’t win one or even a couple cups. Should be looking at a worst-case of two years of a struggling Karlsson who already has a few rings on his fingers.
