  1. Sabres have been one of the most injured teams in the NHL consistently for the last 6 or 7 years now. It's something they really need to get a handle on whether it's giving players more rest time, better training protocols, better treatment for minor injuries to prevent them from becoming major injuries, etc... Bills are on the cutting edge of sports science and have benefitted greatly, Sabres not so much
  2. I just looked at 1998 for Makar and didn't realize he doesn't turn 24 until late October...miscalculation on my part
  3. I don't want to sound like I am getting too excited because this team still sucks in the standings, but I am starting to really like this team a lot. Lots of good young players who will only get better, tons of prospects coming up, the future is really really bright.
  4. Yup, agree...I actually added to my post that Dahlin still has 3 years to get to where he is now
  5. He isn't as good as Cale Makar who stepped in from day 1 and has dominated, but he still has 3 years to get to where Makar is now.
  6. Apparently they allow their play by play guy to drink free Genny Cream Ale too... Quinn looks like he is going to be really really good... We have the best prospect pool in the NHL by a long shot according to pretty much everyone...there is every reason to be excited for what the next 2-3 years holds in store for this team.
  7. Not better than the Hasek 70 save 1-0 win by Buffalo in 4 OTs in the playoffs ended by Dave Hannan sending the series back to where Jimmy Hoffa is with Jim Lorenz uncontrollably giggling as RJ went crazy
  8. Yeah, usually they get scored on within the first 30 seconds of OT
  9. It was difficult but he made it look smooth and easy...he is really turning into a very good player.
  10. Sabres played a fantastic game coming off a 6-1 drubbing yesterday... OT was amazing, hemmed Calgary in for half the OT with them not able to make a change... Lucky miscue by Markstrom led to Thompson's nifty contortions to put it in the empty net.
  11. Why is this chick trying to make the anthems sound sexy?? Hahahaha
  12. Jack was never going to take this team where it needed to go so Tuch and Krebs we're great pieces to add to the team for a spoiled front runner like Eichel
  13. Agreed, pretty much universally Sabres are touted with having the number 1 pool of prospects in the NHL now. There is real cause for optimism finally over the next few years as long as they keep building and trending in the right direction.
  14. Craig Rivet just laid him out... A true captain says Eichel should never have been captain and that "Jack Eichel is a piece of sh!t"
  15. This team can look good some nights and dreadful others. Their lack of consistent scoring is a real concern. I was shocked to see them near the bottom of the NHL in goals scored when they seemingly score 4 or 5 so often. Forgot they also score 0 or 1 just as often.
  16. Eh, Sabres couldn't get the puck to go in the net. Not a bad game, just would have been nice to see them find one to send it to OT.
  17. Tage is becoming a beast...that shot is lethal...might have one of the fastest times from going into a shooting motion to release that I've ever seen.
  18. Thompson is starting to really build momentum towards being a force moving forward...
  19. Probably doesn't help that the ridiculous amount of injuries has forced a new lineup almost every night and the rotating goaltenders down to the 5th/6th string aren't helping either.
  20. Lots of things possibly. Could be in season training regimen, nutrition, lack of rest/recovery time, not placing injury treatment/prevention high on the list, etc.
  21. Maybe more rest and less on ice practices is smart
  22. Surprisingly, Pittsburgh is 2nd, but the Sabres have a long history of having high numbers of injuries and longer recovery times. What is causing it? Can something be done about it? Is it a training issue? Do they not let players get proper treatment for their injuries or issue to try nd prevent them from occurring? Are they too reactive rather than proactive? Do they not follow the proper workout regimens that end up leading to increased injuries? Nutrition issues? Not utilizing the Pegula's investment in the most cutting edge sports science to their advantage like the Bills have under McDermott, where they are always in the bottom 5 in man games lost to injury? Clearly to be this consistently poor in an area, something isn't being done properly to help prevent them. There is no way over a 10+ year period a team can regularly be this injury prone. What is the solution?
  23. What's new. Another player injured. Sabres are bringing injuries to new heights. Something needs to be done via their training department, strength and conditioning coaches, nutrition, how they utilize the cutting edge sports science they have access to, etc... Since 2016 they have lost the 2nd most man games to injury of any team in the NHL. When it's this consistent a problem, something is not being done properly to help minimize these constant injuries. in comparison, Bills have ranked in the bottom 5 in man games lost to injury since McDermott has been here precisely because of the focus they put on players getting the proper treatment, rest, training, etc and limiting the amount of distance they run in practice and training camp without days off for maintenance etc... Sabres clearly aren't utilizing this to their advantage.
