  1. I think you mean Krebs?
  2. Or a slapper...sometimes he just wound up and blew the puck by the goalie who never even moved
  3. Surprised after looking it up but Tage Thompson has the 3rd highest goal scoring percentage in NHL history of players with a minimum of 10 attempts The only other active player with a higher goal scoring percentage in shootouts in Artemis Panarin. Always thought Kotalik was the best I had ever seen but he ranks only 18th. https://records.nhl.com/records/skater-records/shootout/best-shootout-scoring-percentage-career
  4. Didn't know he was that bad...the best I've ever seen in the shootout was Ales Kotalik...dude has the forehand, backhand roof job similar to what Ovechkin did tonight except he did the same move every time and even tho everyone knew it was coming it was almost unstoppable. Surprisingly, Kotalik is only 18th best in NHL history based on shooting percentage...in fact we might have a better player right now in Tage Thompson who ranks 3rd all time in shootout goals. Skinner is awful, ranking 387 out of like 419 players with a minimum of 10 attempts. In fact Ovechkin isn't that great either, ranking 200th. https://records.nhl.com/records/skater-records/shootout/best-shootout-scoring-percentage-career https://youtu.be/JUaIyNyM1as
  5. Huh? Lehner literally would give up a goal on every shot in the shootout. I don't think he is in that category... Out of 116 goalies with 40 or more shootout attempts, Lehner ranks 113 in save percentage. You know who ranks one spot below him at 114? Marty Biron. Surprisingly, two former Sabre goalies rank very highly. Linus Ullmark is the best goalie in NHL history in shootouts based on save percentage and Jhonas Enroth is 11th overall.
  6. Holy cow Laviolette has packed on the pounds since his days against us in Carolina. Dude looks like the Michelin Man
  7. Tokarski is like the pitcher with a 2.51 ERA and a losing record because his team never scores when he pitches
  8. Lock him up longterm at that rate before all the other young players get here and he becomes even better than he is now.
  9. Well at least there is a playoff race in the Western Conference...East has been playing for seeding only the last month and a half.
  10. No, it looks fine to me.
  11. Both teams enter the game playing well...Caps 7-2-1 and Sabres 7-3 over their last 10 games, good for 4th(tied) and 5th best in the NHL over that timeframe. Sabres tied for second longest win streak in the NHL with Boston and Dallas with 3 in a row, trailing only the Wild's 4 in a row, while Caps have lost 2 straight. Should be a good game. Hoping the Sabres continue their strong play of late tonight...this team is starting to put it together. Tage Thompson, likely 30 goal scorer. Who saw THAT coming before the season started??
  12. No, but I think they will be in the mix at the end of the year, probably missing by 6-8 points ultimately. I think the following year is when they break through. Sabres really started to come together...have the 5th best record in the NHL over their last 10 games.
  13. Well deserved win tonight...thought they mostly dominated play
  14. Playing really well tonight again...I don't want to hear Pittsburgh just played last night either... Sabres got their ***** handed to them in Edmonton and then played in Calgary the next night and pulled off the 1-0 OT win.
  15. Pretty crazy to think the playoff teams are pretty much already locked in barring a monumental collapse by someone and an extreme hot streak by a team outside the playoffs that is close enough to catch them, which at this point is likely only Columbus, who is 13 points behind Washington with a game in hand for the final wildcard spot. Highly unlikely this happens. Cannot ever remember having such a disparity between good and bad teams in the conference. Has this ever happened before?
  16. Sabres have been one of the most injured teams in the NHL consistently for the last 6 or 7 years now. It's something they really need to get a handle on whether it's giving players more rest time, better training protocols, better treatment for minor injuries to prevent them from becoming major injuries, etc... Bills are on the cutting edge of sports science and have benefitted greatly, Sabres not so much
  17. I just looked at 1998 for Makar and didn't realize he doesn't turn 24 until late October...miscalculation on my part
  18. I don't want to sound like I am getting too excited because this team still sucks in the standings, but I am starting to really like this team a lot. Lots of good young players who will only get better, tons of prospects coming up, the future is really really bright.
  19. Yup, agree...I actually added to my post that Dahlin still has 3 years to get to where he is now
  20. He isn't as good as Cale Makar who stepped in from day 1 and has dominated, but he still has 3 years to get to where Makar is now.
  21. Apparently they allow their play by play guy to drink free Genny Cream Ale too... Quinn looks like he is going to be really really good... We have the best prospect pool in the NHL by a long shot according to pretty much everyone...there is every reason to be excited for what the next 2-3 years holds in store for this team.
  22. Not better than the Hasek 70 save 1-0 win by Buffalo in 4 OTs in the playoffs ended by Dave Hannan sending the series back to where Jimmy Hoffa is with Jim Lorenz uncontrollably giggling as RJ went crazy
  23. Yeah, usually they get scored on within the first 30 seconds of OT
  24. It was difficult but he made it look smooth and easy...he is really turning into a very good player.
  25. Sabres played a fantastic game coming off a 6-1 drubbing yesterday... OT was amazing, hemmed Calgary in for half the OT with them not able to make a change... Lucky miscue by Markstrom led to Thompson's nifty contortions to put it in the empty net.
