Probably because he is a damn good player?

Lehner is frustrating...he will make great save after great save and then let in a crappy goal. Lehner gets hung out to dry quite often by this team, but at the end of the night too many times you are left wondering how he let in the winning goal. He is historically terrible in shootouts(NHL worst career save percentage in shootouts) but OK on breakaways. I can't see paying a guy big money who is "one-dimensional" as a goalie...we can't be giving away points in the shootouts, it can cost us the playoffs down the line.

once you factor in the hidden costs like gas, repair costs, etc you'd probably be better off getting a fast food job as a second job...

His career worst save percentage in NHL history in shootouts is enough to say no...we can't afford to be giving away any types of points, especially once we get good. That can be the difference between a 6th and 8th seed or missing the playoffs all together...

Nothing is ever easy for this team

Did it really matter? When was the last time Lehner made a save in the shootout let alone win a shootout game? Couple this with us not being to score at all in shootouts and we would have lost 2-0 in the shootout. Eichel should have ended the game but he is only a superstar when we are down 4-1 in the 3rd period with 5 minutes left apparently now. Where are the plays Eichel was making as a rookie??

He shouldnt have had to if our superstar would actually play like one when it matters. He is great when we are down 4-0 tho...

Game should have ended when our alleged superstar drew a penalty shot in OT..as usual he shoots the puck directly into the goalie. Besides having our shots blocked and giving up shorthamded goals, the thing we so best.

Forget anything else..the fact he is the worst goalie in NHL history in shootouts means you are giving away points during the regular season you shouldn't be... He doesnt do enough to make up for that

Yeah I felt bad for Redden...he was still an NHL quality player, just not at that cap number. He got screwed...got all that money but had to play in the minor leagues...

Hey...we gotta start somewhere...Rodriguez has been productive when he has played...not at that level but definitely a good 3rd line player.
