  1. From my perspective a loss is a loss, doesnt matter if you lose in regulation or OT or a shootout. Pretty sure no team in the league is even close to where the Sabres are in terms of being below .500 based on that definition. Personally I think it should be 3 points for a win in regulation, 2 for a win in OT or shootout and 1 point for a loss in the shootout with 0 points if you lose in OT
  2. I'm not sure what the Deluca .500 is but Rolston started out 2-0 that season before losing his next 3...
  3. I'm more concerned with the other 20 players who feel they can relax and not play like they did when he was out because he is back and will carry them
  4. This is really mind numbing...the Sabres have now gone 448 games since they were last above .500(with OT losses included). The last time they were above this was the 3rd game of the 2012-2013 season under Ron Rolston when they were 2-1... Not sure if this is an NHL record but it very might well be...it really is hard to not go above .500 if even for a game at the beginning of the season for that long
  5. What the hell does something that happened 5 years ago have to do with the way he is playing this year?
  6. Oh you mean like the Rangers needed Vessey right away? Middlestadt is far better than Vessey was.
  7. Its like when Jack is hurt all the other guys realize they need to step up and do more so they play harder and when Jack comes back instead of playing harder they use it as an excuse to be lazy and wait for Jack to do something...terrible mindset to have
  8. Yes!! Sabres starting to add future pieces to their pipelines
  9. Think its safe to say from the last 3 "games"---if you want to call them that, the Sabres have packed it in for the year. 2 shutouts and going down 5-0 in the 3rd game is pretty uninspiring to say the least...so glad Eichel decided to come back and help out offensively
  10. Average profit for a Lyft/uber driver is $3.37 an hour after all expenses are accounted for according to this MIT study... Be better flipping burgers somewhere they start out at like $11 an hour now https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/389230002
  11. Hard to do when you lived though it as an adult
  12. As a former meteorology major in college I can tell you that is incorrect. Probably the closest comparison would be to a rapidly intensifying hurricane.
  13. Not sure but Anderson literally had a half blade of one skate in the crease and there is no way I would consider that being in the crease... Really? It wasn't called that way in the Stanley Cup finals with Hull and Hasek...
  14. IMHO, the definition of crease should be the goalie has to have at least half his body in it for that to count as being in the crease They were both going for the puck, Larsson just got there first
  15. If you buy at the right time/place it can rapidly increase in value. We bought our house in a nice area on the Depew/Lancaster border and have seen the value go up about 60K in the last 10 years...house prices are really surging upward in WNY over the past year and a half or so...
  16. He was out of the crease when the contact occurred it shouldnt have mattered which is probably what the replay review came away with
  17. I think what we are seeing without Eichel is the realization from the other players on the team that they can't sit around and wait for Eichel to do something now...they have to make it happen on their own. Honestly I played on a college soccer team similar to this...our best player went down for the year with an injury and we played better without him...it wasn't becaue we were literally a better team without him, we weren't. Everyone realized they had to work a little harder and do a little more to make up for his loss. We couldn't just sit around and wait for him to go through 3 or 4 guys and then dish off a pass to a wide open player for a goal...I think this is what we are seeing with the Sabres now...when they get Eichel back if they can continue to play the way they have been without him they can start really figuring some things out...if they decide to go back to "Oh, we will just skate around and let Eichel make something happen" again then we will see more of the same... In short, they aren't a better team without Eichel, but everyone realizes they need to work harder and do more than when they have Eichel. Basically, Eichel allows them to be lazy to a certain degree...without him they have to work harder.
  18. Tyler Myers best year is still his rookie year here, Joel Armia is like 8 other guys we have here now and Drew Stafford is with the Devils now. Brendan Lemieux has played 9 total NHL games and has 1 point. What exactly are you wowing about for Winnipeg? That they got a bunch of dudes who you think shouldbbe good but actually aren't? They got an average defenseman who never lived up to his potential much like BOGO was for Winnepeg, a JAG in Armia, 1 decent season from Stafford and nothing else. Kane still was by far the best player in that deal...its not his fault the team sucked. And since hockey trades largely are won by the team who ended up getting the best player the Sabres won that trade.
  19. If we were losing him anyway or didnt want to resign him it wasn't doing any good keeping him and losing him for nothing...he has a bad rep around the league, fair or not.
  20. Half the teams in the NHL probably don't want anything to do with him due to his attitude/reputation/off ice stuff whether its fair or not...when you are limiting the number of potential suitors you are also limiting his worth
  21. It better be more than what the Rangers got for Nash...Kane is younger, has more points this season and comes at a cheaper cap hit.
  22. Bots should be expecting more than what the Rangers got for Nash...he has more points, is younger and costs less
  23. Depends what schools we are talking about. At major football schools the amount of money generated by football alone is multiple times the amount of money generated from all other sports combined...sometimes 20-30 times more.
  24. Why would we take a cap dump? Those days are over.
  25. Eichel is going nowhere. There is a -1,000,000,000,000,000% chance he will be traded. And that might be too low Plus he is injured so even if they wanted to which they don't, I don't believe they could trade him.
