I was under the impression engineers were paid well so they could afford to hire people to do all of their written and verbal communication for them :p
-
Yea. I mean, how many minutes this year has the team even spent PKing? It'd be like trying to draw conclusions about ES play based on 3 games.
-
Well, our PK is poop, so I'm not shocked. But whether that's due to Risto is an entirely different question. I tend to lean more towards Grant being out there instead of someone like Girgensons. But I also think it's the PK strategy we employ: pretty passive, allowing volume of shots against. That said, I always find it amusing when fancystats people take the biggest advantage to shot metrics (sample size) and cut it down to such a fine level that it obliterates said advantage.

You and D4rk are really ruining my buzz this morning.

You're a horrible person.

It's amazing how much better he looks paired with McCabe than Gorges (and it's not like he was bad with Gorges). We're talking true #1D, not "well there are 30 teams and he's our #1, therefore he's a #1" type reasoning. How many Dmen would you rather have right now? List isn't too long, and it's shrinking. Long term? That list is even shorter.

Doohickie and Taro got me thinking...in an accident of history, could the injury be good for Eichel's development? His skating and explosiveness not only allows him to compensate for mistakes, but to simply overwhelm defenders. Without that explosion, he's forced to slow things down and think a little differently about how to attack, and work on his in close stick handling. The finer technicalities of the game that maybe didn't need as much attention because of his physical gifts.

Landeskog. I love love love love love the fit of Landeskog on Eichel's LW, and it frees up Nylander to play with ROR and Okposo, adding some pure finish on that line. Nylander-O'Reilly-Okposo Landeskog-Eichel-Reinhart Droooooooooool. Don't think we have the assets to pull it off without Nylander going back the other way though :(
-
I'll gladly give up my non-existent children for Landeskog.
-
If he keeps playing the way he has so far this season, I'd call trading Kane improving the team.
-
The 4th in the Watkins trade was a 2015 4th.
-
I forgot the comic sans. That wasn't happening again.

Without Josh Gorges, there is no hope.

This is the key, I think--he can't do physically what he normally does, and that's causing all kinds of mental issues for him. 'Twas my fear all along with this injury :( -

I blame Kane. Sorta serious. I don't know how anyone could argue Kane's positives outweigh his negatives based on his current play. He's not even hustling all the time anymore! -
The thing that's really bugging me about the Bills defense is the asymmetry in the problems. Last year we had pretty great coverage (from our corners, anyway), we just couldn't get near a QB, so guys got open. This year, we're getting to the QB (minus today, but Oakland's OL has been magnificent this year), but can't cover anyone. Last year's corner play with this year's pass rush, and we're probably a playoff team in spite of everything else.

Incoming 10 year extension for Bylsma.

I think he's more in the 15-20 range (12-15 last year IMO), so we're pretty close overall. I dunno, maybe I'm reading your voice too harshly, but when I read your posts on Tyrod I see you verbally throwing him over the Falls without a barrel
-
Well, Tyrod is contributing 40 rushing yards per game, so that's not nothin' with respect to our team's rushing attack. Teams needing to account for his rushing helps open things up for McCoy. And he is generally a pretty efficient passer with a high completion percentage and few turnovers. I know that's not as fun as 350 yards with a couple of picks, and it may not even be as good as that alternative, but it's not nothin'. I don't think he's the answer and I'm not paying him $18 million per year, but I continue to believe you think he's worse than he is. If we construct a Sabrespace continuum of Tyrod opinions, you'd be on the far negative side and Freeman would be on the far positive side, while I float somewhere in between. Speaking of Freeman! Dear Sir Moderator, are you sure you don't want anyone else quarterbacking this team next year? :p

If that's true, I hope nobody's told them about DeLuca .500. -
1) If Joe Flacco and Andy Dalton and Alex Smith can do it... (hey, it's not like I'm contending he can do anything once he gets there!) 2) Tyrod was abysmal in the second half. The coaches were gutless closing out the first half. But the biggest problem with the team continues to be the defense: the Bills were up by 15 and managed to lose by 14. Obviously the offense contributed to that with their inability to move the ball, but coming into today the offense was 8th in DVOA while the defense sat at 19th.
-
It doesn't matter. At all. But why was McCoy out there for the final play of a two possession game? Don't make the mistake of thinking it can't get worse. It can always get worse.
-
I can't believe Taylor missed Watkins there, except that I can totally believe he missed Watkins there.
-
Like what? It's a Sunday night, you're not doing anything useful.

So this is your fault.
