  1. Moulson generated a shot at even strength. I saw it with my own eyes. Sure, it was a blooper from far out with zero chance of going in, but still, even strength shot!
  2. Well, last night was a Thursday..... :flirt:
  3. .....Eichel.....how....did....you....not....score.....
  4. That's good to hear. I had to laugh, though  Sabres PK gives up a goal. Drink.
  5. Anyone want to guess what the first thing I see when I sat down was? Okay, I don't want to wait for guesses....it was Gorges paired with Risto.
  6. Possibly, and if he took multiple of my classes then I probably have a 1/10 shot of guessing who he is (what can I say, I scared most students off after a single class). Small world. Ha! Yup. Small world indeed.
  7. And yet, that's still better than Des would do in the same spot.
  8. Des is bad at everything related to playing NHL hockey. Grant can at least chip in on a 2nd PK unit and plays the more important position. They're both AHL players though.
  9. Quick, ask him what he thinks of Vesey and Matthews. It's entirely possible you're unwittingly real life friends with Pi. I think I'd rather have Grant in than Des.
  10. Just ask him if Risto had any value prior to last game.
  11. Oral comps for a bachelor's? Well I'll be damned.
  12. I'd agree with this, but now that I know you went to Brockport, I'm compelled to believe you're wrong :p
  13. That last part is my biggest knock on him, because I think it fully negates the legitimate in-zone defensive value he brings. No matter how good you are defensively, if you're contributing to the team getting absolutely caved in with shot volume every time you're on the ice, you're not going to be creating net positive value for the team.
  14. I try not to. The Des love around here is killing me. He's a bad hockey player. Bad. The only thing he does well is the occasional big hit and middleweight fighting, neither of which contributes to wins.
  15. If it makes you feel any better, I made a Seinfeld reference the other day in class and got asked "What's a Seinfeld?"
  16. You're insane. Carrier is far and away more useful than Deslauriers. There's not a single, solitary thing Deslauriers does well enough to warrant a regular spot in the lineup. You. You're also insane.
  17. Nice one Pi...though I'd reverse the Gorges and Des gifs.
  18. If I had known you went to Brockport I'd never have taken your posts so seriously :p :nana:
  19. I'd say that's a pretty fitting way for 2016 to end...but there's still a lot of time left for more bad stuff to happen.
  20. Of the schools I've taught at, Brockport was tied for worst students I've had. I could teach the exact same course there as elsewhere, in the same semester, and grades would routinely be ~15 points lower. Well, yea, there's about 4x the students
  21. Shrug. Maybe you just had a bad cohort? Maybe you had a different perspective at UB because you were older? I never had any particularly memorable problems while teaching there. That last story is amazing
  22. I eagerly await Deslauriers' return to the top-6 for a shift as a reward for hitting somebody the previous shift.
  23. Well, it wouldn't be surprising if UB students were worse than RIT students, but framing it as a private vs state is where you get it wrong. It's higher entrance requirements vs lower requirements. If you thought UB was bad, you should experience Brockport or Buffalo State.
  24. It's the last week of classes and it's as if students have just checked their grades for the first time. I've gotten about 40 "what can I do about my grade" emails this week. Couple that with those saying it's unfair I took off X points for not following Y direction for the paper (never mind that the assignment literally says failure to comply will result in loss of 10 points) and I'm about ready to have "email technical issues" for awhile. Oh, and I had an interview cancelled today because the school made an offer to one of the candidates that interviewed last week. Apparently I should have just cancelled class for two days so I could interview last week.
  25. Okay, snow is one thing. BUT WHAT KIND OF PERSON LOVES 40S AND RAIN?!?!
