  1. We can only hope he chooses somewhere else.
  2. Yea I just saw it in the trade speculation thread. I hate (sports) life.
  3. Somebody please put me out of my misery. WWWWHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  4. Please tell me these people on Twitter are as credible as Hockeyyinsiderrrrrrrrrrr. Please. I can't handle dumping another boatload of cash on a soon to be 30 good but not great winger.
  5. But did you see that backhand goal against Philly? Jochen never did that! ;) :p
  6. Precisely. Hamilton wanted a physical response. Nonsense. Go play some offense and let that be the response.
  7. How could Mittelstadt get MVP? Paul Hamilton told me he was getting embarrassed by Pekar! I continue to have little to no respect for Hamilton's hockey opinions.
  8. So for the sake of argument, I won't argue the merits of the broken locker room stuff. But my point is that you are certain O'Reilly has to go, even though you are wholly uncertain he's the problem. That doesn't seem logical to me. It would make a lot more sense if your position was "O'Reilly has to go if he's the problem."
  9. I think that has a lot more to do with tying Bobby Ryan's carcass to the deal than it does what Karlsson is going to be paid.
  10. Wait, how was Drane right? He hitched his wagon to Murray and Bylsma, both of whom sucked. The attempt to build a heavy team in the LA mold was a miserable failure, and we're still living with its consequences (I'm looking at you, Bogo and Okposo).
  11. I'd argue that Trump's racial politics is the southern strategy in its most pure form. He supports the same things Republicans have since Goldwater, he simply took the window dressing off. Edit: I really like the idea of invite-only clubs. It's a true opt-in, as opposed to a subforum or dedicated thread that people may stumble into out of boredom or whatever.
  12. I don't think it's Dorion doing the devaluing.
  13. How can you admittedly be so certain about the proper course of action while admitting not having any idea about the dynamics at play?
  14. If I were Tavares, I'd pick Toronto. Their window is considerably wider than San Jose's.
  15. Right. 25th pay rate in the league might be market value, but poor goaltending isn't where you want to be paying market value. That's the spot to pay less than market value.
  16. Two weeks ago one of the orientation leaders here was in a car accident and suffered brain trauma, putting her in a coma. Well, she woke up, and despite being a little wobbly on her feet, shows no signs of long-term damage.
  17. Of course not. Being right is great! :D
  18. As Flagg said, you follow it up by trading Risto for forward help.
  19. Because Colton Parayko is a stud defenseman. I can't imagine getting a better NHL player back.
  20. Actually, he's exactly what the statistics say he is. That doesn't necessarily mean he will continue to be. But right now he's a stud on the PP but is clearly in over his head playing 27 minutes per game against the best players in the league. That doesn't mean he sucks, but I think he's fairly obviously more suited to second paring duty right now.
  21. Mitch McConnell.
  22. I always interpret "moves well for a big man" to really mean "his skating kinda sucks, but we expect it to suck for big players, so it's fine."
  23. Casey definitely plays a sexier style.
  24. Nino is also only going to be 26 this year. Okposo is already 30. Sorry for the interruption Flagg. Please continue.
  25. Basically, players pay tax based on where the game is played. So moving to a state without an income tax only affects their 41 home games. In other words, half their salary. And nobody actually pays the top rate anyway due to deductions. Then tack on escrow, and yea, the net difference for athletes across states is pretty small.
