  1. I think the only unique thing about it would be if Tavares does the alleged 1-year max deal with Toronto. Oh, and KG and Ray Allen were traded, not free agents :p
  2. Was hoping it'd be higher and help someone else pop loose.
  3. Median is probably a better way to go about it. As to why he'd say it if it's not true...people say things in interviews. Could have been a harmless slip up. Or it's possible that "b word" distorting reality... :p ;)
  4. I don't think we're in a position to be turning away cheap wing talent.
  5. I'd take Vanek over Satan all day.
  6. You have partially redeemed yourself for the lack of Philly hate. Congratulations.
  7. That's the fun thing about goalies: they can have a good year without actually being good.
  8. Sigh. Kids these days.
  9. No hate for Philly and the Dolphins? I hereby suspend your fan card for 72 hours. Now go and think about what you've done.
  10. *immediately goes to Nashville's depth chart to see who we could acquire to help them free up cap space* On a pure hockey note, I think that would be a great landing spot for Tavares. Stacked blue line, great wingers, and he pushes every center on the roster down to where they belong.
  11. Reinhart and something? I really don't know what that something would be, though. Don't think we have anything other than Reinhart as the centerpiece, either. I think it could work. I'm trying to think of some low cost options to upgrade the wings, and I keep coming back to Pittsburgh. I know both Hagelin and Sheary had slid down the depth chart this season. Does Pittsburgh really want to pay them a combined $7 million? They're not world beaters, but they'd upgrade our speed on the wings and give us non-embarrassing options to pair with our top three centers, and the acquisition cost probably doesn't include Reinhart.
  12. That's pretty gross, but still not as bad as 4th liners taking O'Reilly's ice time. After all, any of that trifecta in the top-6 really just means that Pominville or Wilson aren't. It's gross, sure, but all things are relative ;)
  13. Sign me up! If they want a team to eat the Ennis contract, they can't possibly expect a huge return for any of them.
  14. Part of me doesn't want Tampa to get him because they're in our division, but the other part of me desperately hopes they do so we have a shot at some of their players they'd have to move. Palat, Johnson, Miller, Killorn...I'll gladly take any of them.
  15. We'll see. Oshie got 8 last year and Neal didn't just turn down 5 years because he thinks he'll get less on the open market. Maybe he'll be disappointed...or maybe GMs really are as dumb as I think they are. Dumb is probably the wrong word; obtuse is more appropriate. But you get the point. All they really have to do is buy out Ennis or send him to a team that needs to hit the cap floor. It's a little tight, but I don't really think they're in a situation that demands moving out a valuable piece. Definitely grosser. BTW, I assume by "Larsson" you actually meant "Rodrigues."
  16. Well that's one of the grossest sentences I've ever read on this forum.
  17. The cheapest of the bunch, I'd imagine.
  18. Right, but these guys are all going to be looking for term unless they're ring-chasing, a requirement that we obviously don't meet. I'd say close to zero.
  19. If we invest long term in any of those UFAs we're certifiable.
  20. If the term is short, sure. But I have no interest in signing 30+ good-but-not-great wingers to long term contracts.
  21. I dunno, the Blues haven't helped Jake Allen not suck.
  22. Bring me all of the disappointments! May the least disappointing emerge victorious! :p
  23. I'd venture to say we wouldn't be any better at all. A little more depth on the wing and blue line doesn't make up for our 2C going from O'Reilly to...Rodrigues?
  24. I'd probably rather bring him in to compete than any of the other scraps laying on the heap.
