  1. The only commercials I watch are on my favourite YouTube channel ... I am Cougar Puma. 😎 Look it up. It's great. If I don't skip the ads they get their $. Russian ...
  2. We finished Little Mosque on the Prairie (6 seasons) last night. The series was a classic CBC production, so low budget, but actually quite good, especially in the beginning. It was the idea of a Muslim Sister and she hit all the *hot topics* of any Canadian mosque in season 1. It was very funny either way, but if you are a convert in Canada you will be very familiar with all the topics covered in the first season ... the prayer hall barrier, the over zelous convert, the over the top character of Baber and his relationship with his coming of age daughter, the airport interogation of the new Imam on his way from Toronto to small town Saskatchewan, the over the top bashing of everything Muslim by the local radio station host (deep down he loves them all, especially the diner owner Fatima), the over the top reaction of the local farmer to the new Mosque in the local Anglican Church ... I have seen all of these situations and can relate. The entire series is on YouTube. Highly recommend it.
  3. Is this legit? Did my Ghost friend get official word from Bettman that this game is indeed on? Until further notice ... MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!!
  4. Why did I read that as being evacuated? When you say tonight, you must mean some other night, eh?
  5. I don't think the NHL will be back until what was supposed to be the Olympic break ends.
  6. What a fantastic win. Everyone played well. The coaches outcoached you know who. They will win the division, which doesn't mean a whole lot unless you win the conference.
  7. Not to pick a nit, but the Sabres were very competative during about half of the reign of OSP.
  8. They also had something in '93 after years of wandering in the desert. Then again starting in '97, which culminated in the Sabres second *cusp* (hey, oh @PASabreFan) in '99. Then we have the run of '04, '05 and '06, and the lesser trophy of '07, which has been followed by more wandering in the desert until today.
  9. Yes, we did. I hope that you did too. No worries, my friend.
  10. A kayak. While we technically don't celebrate Christmas we still have some traditions that we enjoy. Last night we had nice Turkish coffee in a very relaxed setting with traditional (non religious) Christmas songs playing. We had a nice dinner last night. We will be talking with the only family we are still in touch with (by design) at 5:00 PM this evening. They are my cousins in Calgary. After that we will be taking our traditional Christmas Day walk after dark to look at the moon and stars. I had taken up kayaking late in the fall this year and really like it. We have had a string on large expenses lately, but my beautiful wife insisted that she buy me a kayak. She even said it was for Christmas. So, there you go. After over 30 years I would marry her all over again in a hot second.
  11. We have waited 3 weeks and this is your first post ... Anyway, welcome!! Sent you a beer.
  12. And for those of us who don't celebrate Christmas (I am one and I know of some others) I wish for you good health and peace.
  13. Merry Christmas!! Best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year.
  14. PA has it in the vault. Our very own @Robviously, who is missed, wrote it years ago. Just like PA said. It's as fantastic now as ever. Timeless. Thanks for sharing it again PA. Merry Christmas!!
  15. Even in WWI and WWII (the big one) they had cease fires for Christmas. Even in bloody Stalingrad!!
  16. I am wondering if the Sabres will play again before the fall of 2022. The goaltending has been much better of late, but it's tenuous at best.
  17. The Sabres have had 4 owners in 50+ years. None were 'bad' owners, until one group ended up being croocks, but up until then they ran the team well. Then things fell apart and the NHL took over until OSP saved them, which made him a hero. And here we are. The Pegulas are not bad owners, but have made some terrible decisions.
  18. I was talking about in Canada in general and Nova Scotia specifically.
  19. In Canada these things were hppening before COVID and are not any worse now. Blaming the unvaccinated is not reasonable, at least not in Canada, especially in Nova Scotia. It is fashionable to blame the unvaccinated, but not realistic if one really thinks about it.
  20. When you look at it this is a reasonable take that a sale was part of the plan all along. That said, the exact opposite conclusion is just as reasonable.
