okay then take off girgensons and the other 3 and that's still 8 forwards. Which is where I'm getting the depth part at. And yea I have looked at other teams prospect pools, but I don't know anyone's nearly as much as ours. But you'll have a tough time finding opinions that the sabres don't have a deep prospect pool. And if its not the defense that is giving the depth part, then its the forwards. In the past three years we have draft 5 forwards in the top 2 rounds (not counting girgensons), we have traded for 3 forwards, and two forwards such as baptiste and possler had exceptional 2013 campaigns. But if you don't think we have a deep prospect system, please let me know who you think has a prospect system deeper in regards to forwards.

Grigorenko, Girgensons, Armia, Larsson, Compher, Fasching, Baptise, Hurley, Poller, Carrier, Bailey, Deslauriers. That's twelve forwards that have nhl potential, which is more than almost every team in the league. Let me put it this way, the Sabres are seen as having one of the deepest prospect pools. We have 4 high end defensive prospects (ristolainen, zadorov, pysyk, and mccabe), and then we have ruhwedel and almost no one else. So if the defensive prospects aren't giving us the title of a deep prospect pool, then the forwards are. In my opinion, we lack elite talent as far as scoring forwards and goalies go (where we have a lot of depth and potential). And we lack depth at defense (where we have elite talent). I don't think anyone can say we don't have a deep prospect pool. haha, the poorest in the league indeed

It lacks high end elite offensive talent, but I still think it's the leagues deepest offensive prospect pool. It's no where close to poor or poverty

Fixed my above post, it was missing a word which made it make no sense. I was trying to say I'm excited for whoever we get, and we'll be adding a bunch of good prospects to the leagues' deepest prosoect pool. And our pipeline is anything but poor :)

I wouldnt be pissed at whoever they take because they can rank players a lot better than any of us. So if the pick the german at #2, I think that they know what they are doing.

How do either of you know who Florida will take, who Florida isn't interested in. Who the sabres would've or wouldn't if taken at #1 overall. Of course we would rather have #1 overall, maybe the guy we want will be gone, maybe not.

I'm not going to judge anyone from last year because we were so freaking bad. Weber is a bottom pairing D and that's his role. He didn't play his role and played with garbage like everyone else. I remember people wanting to get rid of players like Aaron Williams and Dareus when the bills had that historically bad defense in 2012 (now those players are fan favorites). Who cares what weber said, what else would he say realistically. But weber did sick this year, but almost everyone sucked on this sucky team. It's not the right setting to judge players. 2013-weber is future captain 2014-weber flat out sucks I'm sure the truth is in between that and weber hopefully turns into a very solid bottom pairing D who can eat up PIM, block shots, and bring toughness. Don't judge someone who was playing a role they shouldn't be playing with no supports in that historically bad season.

Tanking is intentionally losing games to finish last. No one did that. If by tanking you meant an honest to god stripping of team and rebuild, that's what the sabres did.
