    He was the 4th most important piece a different regime brought in on the pominville trade. He isn't staying based on what a previous gm gave to get him. He'll be tendered or not depending on what Murray thinks of him. I don't think it's given he will be back.

    Who do you all think are the top two goalies in rochester next year between Hackett, Makarov, and Lieuwen? I'm kinda hoping hackett doesn't get tendered and they let makarov split time with Lieuwen.

    I didn't say HOF at every position, but you NEED an average line. Look at Brady or manning when their line is sucking. And someone mentioned pit and gb? Their pass protection and lack of run game due to a bad line was a huge issue on those teams. I'm just saying we need an average line at least, it was apparent last year how bad our line was. A good o line will make a qb look better much easier than a good qb will make a line look good. EDIT: I'm not saying qb isn't important, I think it's the most important position. I'm just saying our o line is bad and I hope they fix it and add 2-3 lineman. Plus we drafted a QB last year, we won't draft one high this year, so let's help develop EJ by fixing the line (we can still get a great TE/WR in rd 1

    I wouldn't mind o line being addressed in round 2 - 4 ( as long as we get at least 2 of them).

    I think having a good passing game is more dependent on having a good line, than an o line depending on good WRs. I think a receiving core with SJ, woods, Williams, and Goodwin is a lot more talented than our o line as it currently is.

    That's what I mean, we have talent at WR, RB, DL, LB, DB. We HAVE to get the line fixed. EJ literally couldn't step into the pocket in half the games. Run profection was non existent and interior pressure was disrupting our entire offense.

    Man, i know its not a sexy pick, but i dont think you all realize how bad our line was last year. You cant run or pass no matter how many playmakers you have if you line is bad. Especially the interior of our line

    Sabres prospect pool ranking (HF) 2008 - 20 2009 - 9 2010 - 19 2011 - 14 2012 - 13 2013 - 2 (doesn't include carrier, fasching, emergence of possler or Ullmark) 2014 - my bet is #1 easily Ps top 2 teams in 2010 were predators and kings. Top 2 teams in 2009 were blues and predators.

    I'm pretty sure a lot of discussions about the tank/draft/future events have had most of you repeat your opinion a ton. That's okay because it's a forum, you don't have to call people out on it though.

    are you sure you didnt call these players "prospects" and compare them to our "prospect pool?" This may be going over my head, but it looks like thats exactly what you did. It's no biggie, i just saw your original post and you called a list of players prospects and i stated most of them arent prospects

    Most of those players wouldn't meet anyone's definition of a prospect (some of those players are in tl their 5th nhl season...). Sabres definitely have a top 3 prospect pool, arguably the best.

    I am the only person on both sides of my family to not be born/raised in western new york, and instead i was raised down south where there were no ice rinks. So football, baseball, soccer were the sports I played and never learned to ice skate (only roller skate). I'm in my early 20s and moving to Minneapolis in a few months and wanted to try to learn to play hockey and skate. Just wanted to know if anyone had any advice on learning to skate. Do you recommend buying your own skates right away, or should i rent them while i learn to skate? stuff like that. thanks :beer:
