  1. IN BEFORE THE CLOSE :)
  2. Haha the guy is definilty bat ###### crazy in addition to being racist
  3. I agree with all this. Malkins and Crosby have to be in the conversation, bits it's close. I do like the idea that Kane and toews compliment each other perfdctly. Good point
  4. What the heck is google reverse image!?
  5. It became racially charged when thousands of people called richard sherman a thug and a ###### when he has never done anything to warrant that. No one is saying don't use the word "thug" and no one is telling you your allowed vocabulary and it wont escalate to not being "allowed to talk." I use the word thug. Just use it correctly. Don't call black people a thug ignorantly (I'm not saying you did this, I'm just saying when you shouldn't use the word thug and how it can be a word with racist undertones) when they are a not in the least bit a thug. Don't call richard sherman a thug, don't call the NBA a thug-league. Why is that so hard for some of you? Why is it so worthy of complaining about? Original Post: An NBA owner is incredibly racist. Page 1: The NBA is a thug-league Page 2: People over-exaggerating something and complaining about their freedom to use vocabulary when no one was saying that.
  6. Black people are thugs, white people are punks. Iv rarely ever heard a white athlete ever called a thug. But iv heard countless black athletes called a thug when they have a clean record
  7. Iv only seen it done to Larsson?
  8. I'm hoping the roster looks pretty different as the summer goes on
  9. haha he couldn't. I doubt thats what the team looks like next year, but i think that is the best top 12 forwards and top six defensemen from the 2013-2014 crew lol.
  10. Hey its never to early to start this thread :) let's just look at everyone who is a possibility: LW Ennis (RFA) Deslauriers Conacher (RFA) Foligno (RFA) Scott (UFA) C Girgensons Mitchell Konopka (UFA) Ellis Larsson (Prospect) RW Hodgson Stewart Stafford Flynn D'Agostini (UFA) LD Ehrhoff Tallinder (UFA) Weber McCabe (prospect) Sulzer (UFA) Zadorov (prospect) RD Myers Mcbain (RFA) Pysyk (prospect) Ristolainen (prospect) Ruhwedel (RFA - prospect) G Neuvirth Enroth My guess (no free agents or draft picks included, only with what we have) Ennis - Girgensons - Hodgson Foligno - Larsson - Stewart Conacher - Mitchell - Stafford Deslauriers - Konopka - Flynn Ehrhoff - Myers Tallinder - Pysyk Weber - Mcbain Neuvrith Enroth
  11. Uhhhh......where's kassian? (I kid I kid!!!!!!)
  12. good for you, but this is a discussion board and someone wanted to have a discussion on something. So sorry they did something you dont care for... Sorry to derail thread, but I think its an interested question. I don't think kane is the best in the world right now, but he is definitely near the top. 2 stanley cups. one conn smythe, 2 overtime playoff goals, and around 500 points in 500 games all by the age of 25. Not bad
  13. Is there a reason why you and a few others are so opposed to new threads? Are threads a limited resource? Are you a moderator? Or do you just enjoy being rude? If someone wants to make a new thread let them, if you don't think it should be a thread then report it, if you don't want to participate then don't. edit: this place use to not be like that, and for whatever reason this is a new thing. It's what makes new people lurk instead of post new threads and become active because there are a few people who come off like real jerks to new threads...
  14. Boooooo u ppl suk
  15. I could be wrong, but when you are subject to jiggle tests, have a strict rules handbook, have required appearances, have mandatory practices/shifts, have an employer-employee relationship, then you are not an independent contractor but rather an employee? And this means you are by law required to be paid minimum wage. (Even if people thinks it's a hobby, or if they are doing what they are good at, looking pretty and earning others money) http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/Independent-Contractor-Defined Edit: reading a little bit more, but it seems pretty clear they are being paid as independent contractors and being treated as employees. Fortunately, in labor laws definitions don't include "then don't do it" or "it's a hobby" or "supply and demand, if someone is willing to do it for less then it's okay to pay less"
  16. Yea a musician that is employed that is required to do 30 side gigs and then the musician doesn't receive compensation for the side gigs. That's a more accurate analogy. Edit: it's not a big deal to me, I'm just shocked at the responses. These people aren't being paid minimum wage. All this bs about supply and demand and hobbies is ridiculous. There are federal regulations concerning this. If someone deemed your job a "hobby" and there was someone willing to do it for 1 dollar an hour (supply and demand), it doesn't make it okay.
  17. I could care less about cheerleaders
  18. I HATE YOU ALL :)
  19. In my opinion once you start getting paid income for what many be do as a hobby, then you are professional if that makes sense. And dark, "look pretty while you make others money." Really. You don't see how people pay thousands of dollars to see you, you are required to go, and you don't see that income, isn't exploitation?
  20. How in the world do you all think it is a hobby when they are professionals who earn an income for their service, and people pay to see them (not at the games, but in their appearances where people PAY money to book them, money they don't see). My hobbies, usually cost ME moeny. I don't get paid. Cheerleaders get paid. People don't PAY to see me do my hobby. People PAY to book cheerleaders. someone explain how it is a hobby and the similarities? Playing hockey or paintball earns you money? People pay to book you so they can watch you, and then you don't see that income? You are employed by a contractor to do your hobby? Sorry, I don't see it. They are being exploited and being paid below minimum wage.
  21. No a miller sweep requires a 3-0 series lead
  22. Yea, I would still put those two ahead of pysyk and McCabe for the time being. I want too see what grigs does in the ahl in his first season there, and I want too see Armia healthy next year with a year of North American hockey under his belt. Pysyk and McCabe are a lot more likely to hit their potential (too 4 defenseman), but grigs and Armia have a higher potential (just less likely to hit it).
  23. I'm not going to argue with you, especially if you don't understand what I'm saying and miss any point I make. I didn't say our prospect system isn't good because of defense, and i know how many players play each position. But thank you for letting me know. :worthy: Here is how I would rank our teams top 20 prospects with no girgensons 1. Defense 2. Defense 3. Forward 4. Forward 5. Defense 6. Defense 7. Forward 8. Forward 9. Forward 10. Forward 11. Forward 12. Forward 13. Defense 14. Forward 15. Goalie 16. Forward 17. Forward 18 Forward 19. Forward 20. Forward If you don't get where I'm coming from when i say i think we have depth at forward, while the elite talent is defense, then I'm sorry. The reason we have a deep prospect pool is because of the number of nhl potential talent we have, not because of high end talent at defense. Agree to disagree, have a good easter
  24. Wait so you agree that we have a deep prospect pool. But you think its our defensive prospect that make it deep? Ristolainen and zadorov are elite talent. And then pysyk and mccabe are a few notches below but still seen as having top 4 potential. So where is the depth part coming from? I guess we have different definitions of depth. I think we have a a ton of nhl potential forwards, but lack elite talent. edit: I'd honestly be interested in hearing which teams you think have more depth at forward than the sabres, that would make you say it isn't deep. I personally think its the leagues deepest (not the best by any means).
