UPDATED: Sabres sign 2 yr Deal w/Cody Franson

It still pisses me off. I got in the dumbest argument with the (Bruins fan) captain of my hockey team over that call. -
http://www.nfl.com/videos/buffalo-bills/0ap3000000529610/Bills-postgame-press-conference I don't usually listen to coach/player interviews, but: Rex Ryan. I freakin' love this guy, and it's easy to see why players love playing for him.

Awesome stuff in the awesome thread  :) Eleven, on moving forward instead of on... That rings very true. /hugs

I am crushing JJ in my first ever fantasy football game. I'm up by 2 points and still have Adrian Peterson and Charles Johnson to play. JJ has Sproles. I want to be proud, but his roster is pretty objectively terrible.

Eh. No Liger's right here (if a bit...Liger). Virtually no chance. Too much talent/depth in Buffalo, and it would be a move that seems to clash with Murray's style. -
A couple thoughts on Rex: There was a third down pass that wasn't caught by the Colts but was called a completed pass. Rexy didn't challenge because perhaps 1) we were up by a lot at the time and he wasn't worried or 2) luck got his team up to the line and snapped it very quickly and Rex didn't risk it. I percieved it as a mistake at the time, but a small one. There was a different play where luck had his offense in formation and the bills d was still in huddle. I was screaming for rex to call a TO but he didn't and Luck completed a first down to a wide open reciever (both dbs took the deep man in panic). These were two very minor errors that occured after we had a significant lead. On the flip side, I loved that our offense never stopped trying to score. The deep bomb attempt to Watkins was a thing of beauty. Doug Marrone would never ever ever call that play. The team played like they expected to win the entire time. Whenever I expected them to let up or make a Bills boneheaded mistake they did not. I'm giving Rex credit here, too. The team's attitude seemed to reflect his.

Interesting. I'm not as sold on the Colts as you guys are. I think they're among the best in the AFC because the AFC isn't all that special. With Luck, though, anything's possible.
-
Was it not? Are you not? The Colts are certainly no powerhouse but they are a playoff team with a good offense and the best young qb in the game.

Great game. I was very impressed with Rod. Very smooth game. Great decision making and efficient running. McCoy still looks injured and the line struggled a bit at times. Karlos Williams was very impressive and soothed my missing of Freddy. Our sheer number of weapons was too much for the Colts D. Teams are going to have lots of trouble matching up against our skill players. If the line can get some consistency going, our offense could really be something this year. Our defense looked the part even without Dareus. Darby did a nice job battling out there after getting victimized a couple times early. Kyle Williams is still a beast, as is Nickell Robey. With all of that said, the Colts played a turrible game. Just turrible.

Because it's not like our defense was filthy before Rex got here or anything.

His name is spelled Ehrhoff, und er ist besser als Franson. -
Wasn't it synthetic weed? I'm just worried that this contract is a gateway to bad things. I'm predicting that Dareus demolishes a Dunkin Donuts before he plays and gets 4 sacks week 2.

I'm hyped. It's been so long since we've had exciting new acquisitions to judge. This year we're going to have Eichel, Kane, O'Reilly, Lehner, and more Bogosian. And we can judge the continued growth of Rasmus, Samsonus, Zemgus, Pysykus. Side note, I can't read home opener and not pronounce it [home-o pee-ner]

I have never ever seen Pysyk go end to end. -
Elsewise, this has been me:

Thanks for posting that Kishi Bashi song, X. This guy is talented, and his songs are always in such a bright register. I've been listening to his songs on youtube for an hour straight now.

I agree with this. I almost spoke up in the O'Reilly review thread about it. Bergeron and Thomas were the main cogs in that Boston cup run. Chara played an important role, but Bergeron was the heart of that team.
-
I think he's talking about Trent Edwards.
-
Me too. I'm starting to understand that he was probably a few teams' Kaleta.
-
We're boned. I'm so excited for the home opener. Who knows what our offense is gonna look like? With as many weapons as we have, something should happen. I remain firmly in the excited as all hell camp.
-
I think he'll get between 35-40 points and look the part. Super excited about Samson.

Adding one of the best wingers in the league isn't putting a ton of money into wingers again. It's putting a ton of money into winger. I agree that the price would be to high, and I agree with others upthread that have stated that his contract doesn't coincide with our window. But big money on an Ovechkin/P.Kane game breaker is never a bad idea.
