Reinhart to Eichel...I can watch that all day.
-
Turned the game on late and caught the last 5 minutes of the 1st Don't think I saw the Sabres havery possession of the puck in the Minnesota zone once. Has it been that way all period?

Has anyone ever considered that Matt Moulson might be the leader of the Orphans from The Warriors? -

That was my exact reaction. I don't even bother watching the games these days, it's not worth the commitment. I listen on the wgr app and I was finishing up modge-podging a 30th birthday card for my buddy and Ivery hit the point where I have no shame admitting I'd rather be art and crafting than watching the sabres. The card didn't turn out very well but whatever, fnck Edmonton and fnck the lottery system.- 528 replies

Seriosuly. Was anyone surprised it ended this way? I think the bright spot here is that we didn't get embarrassed on national tv, thanks NHL!- 528 replies

This puts the nail through the rest of the season. It's times like these I hate being born in Buffalo.- 528 replies

I'm just a simple guy with simple tastes and it doesn't take much to make me happy. All I'd really like to see tonight is to have Eichel put McDavid through the glass with a clean hit.- 528 replies

For those of you who follow the rest of the NHL, I posit the following question: How did Edmonton fare during the deadline? Did they trade away players for assets? Did they strip down and have to call up some bodies from the AHL to fill some gaps or did the trades bring in players with the intent of helping their roster? I really want the Sabres to mop the floor with the proverbial face of Edmonton but I fear that McDavid is going to outshine Eichel today and put on quite the show. I hope it's the opposite but Buffalo sports have a way of bringing out the pessimist in me.- 528 replies

This has been the plan laid out by Murray since the day he came on board. Anyone who thought we'd be out of the dumpster this year is delusional. My faith in Murray gets a free pass until the end of next season. Murray has addressed the problems at center and in goal and you better believe he'll be bringing in some serious upgrades to our defense this summer along with finding another winger to replace Mcginn. I can only have hope for the future because the only other alternative involves more booze than I can afford.

I'm really amazed at this thread, had no idea people were so attached to the concept of McGinn. I never really got attached to him since it was obvious he wasn't going to be a Sabre for more than a season. The trade deadline is for teams looking to bulk up for the playoffs or teams to cut their losses and deal their best assets for a good return. This year's deadline did not apply to the Sabres. Murray will make this team better byet making deals near the draft and in free agency, by then nobody will much care about Mcginn.
-
I'm just happy I have some vested interest in the playoffs this year. Let's go Caps & Ducks!
-
It would have been miserable either way. A few garbage goals from McGinn and power play assists from ROR won't save this season.
-
I'm content with the move. You've gotta bet that Murray will make his noise around the draft and in FA this year. I had little expectations coming into today and they were met. Go Sabres!
-
I'm sure Murray knew that and agreed to the conditions with the ###### sorted out. on WGR Murray is saying he was "not close" & "not disappointed" re: dealing the other UFAs...sounds like there was little to no interest in Johnson or Legwand. *cue foghorn*
-
He also has to play 50% of the playoff games...
-
That's fair...to each his own. Cheers. How I long for the excitement of a Kassian for Hodgson deal, straight up. The future was so bright then.
-
I don't understand why deadline day is a holiday to some people, especially Sabres fans or people interested in teams without any chance of making the playoffs.
-
Bubble teams are a LOT less likely to deal a 1st round pick as the repercussions of sending away a pick that ends up netting another team a 1-3 pick would cost a GM his job, especially when that trade was meant to make the playoffs and instead they missed the post-season and the sweet, sweet lottery ball.
-
Does anyone else have the Jeopardy song on repeat in their head?
-
I'm going to be patient as the last minute picks roll in but...nothing from the Sabres? Really?
-
Murray didn't use the #2 pick the past two years on a Russian. Clearly he HATES them.
-
It's about ratings. It's clear the that WSH v PIT game has the better story line and will attract more viewers.
-
Why is it even a question why they're bumping this game? Step out of your Sabres bubble and think about it. The Sabres and Oilers are terrible, terrrible teams. Nobody outside of these small-market cities give a damn about the teams since they've been IRRELEVANT for the past decade. Instead, the nation gets to watch one of the historically best team led by one of the greatest goal scorer of all time vs. a team surging up the standings led by another generational player whose been on fire since a slow start to the season. People can watch their McDavid highlights on youtube and the Sabres fans will still get to watch Eichel streak into the zone and force a pass. Fair note: I'm bitter I stayed up to 1:30 am to watch the Sabres get shutout last night.

I don't think the atmosphere in FNC lately could ever be loud enough to damage the frailest of ears.
