  1. Losing face offs and riding our backup goalie is killing us right now.
  2. Eichel should have 3 assists in this game alone. He will be dominating this league in no time.
  3. If you shoot it the goals will come. If you shoot it the goals will come. If you shoot it the goals will come. This is my mantra. The dam will break eventually.
  4. Sabres looked good save a few defensive breakdowns. They can take this from Montreal if they start cashing in on their fn chances
  5. KANE needs to hit that ! Great feed from eichel.
  6. Eichel has to start cashing in on these amazing chances he's generating, right?
  7. Welcome back, Flynn. He's been rocked twice so far. That was an ugly power play right there.
  8. and two fights. The double-triple Goride Howe.
  9. Jack is starting to fall behind in the Calder race. I'm predicting no less than 3 points for him tonight.
  10. I don't follow the Amerks at all. Who has been starting games for them? Have they looked good? On a personal level you gotta feel a little bit for Lieuwan but as someone mentioned above, with his concussion history he's almost a time bomb of when he's going to get injured for good. Brian injuries are scary.
  11. Before the preseason started my buddy bet me $50 that the Sabres finish in the bottom 7 of the league this year. I took that bet but I'm a little uneasy now with the Lehner & Bogo injuries. It's too early to really tell but they're digging themselves in a pretty big hole right now. If we continue our pace of 1-5 were going to end up with roughly 27 points. Yes, I understand that scenario is impossibly unlikely but it's disconcerting when put in that perspective. Hopefully things "click" and we blow the Leafs out at home with a good old fashioned whooping. A loss to the Leafs, however, is going to make that hole a whole lot deeper. At the end of the season, a realist guess from me is them somewhere around 20th place in the league. The optimist in me says playoffs. GO SABRES!
  12. I'm really hoping Kane & Eichel start clicking sooner than later. They're generating chances and it's only a matter of time before the floodgates open. I know this team is learning to gel but I'd like to see at least a point out of the game tonight. After tonight the Sabres are off for 3 nights and I know it's early but I'm looking at the standings and I don't want to see this team sitting stagnant with 2 points after 5 games. Bogo out obviously hurts and I can't wait for him to get back so the ice-time distribution gets spread out properly. Last game Risto looked pretty bad and we'll see marked improvement from him once the blue line gets healthy. As others have stated here, I strongly dislike seeing Gionta on the Eichel/Kane pairing and in general I'm not sold on keeping pairs together. However, I understand I'm not a coach so I've got faith in what Disco Dan is doing. I've got a hockey game at 10 p.m. tonight so i'll be missing the final frame. GO SABRES!
  13. Like seeing Legwand scratched, not that I haven't liked his game early on but that he's not the future of this team.
  14. Those are great points and on a levelheaded day I completely agree but I'm so desperate for any kind of meaningful playoff sports experience from the teams I root for. I'm not a baseball fan but watching those Jays highlights have got me really missing cheering for a team in the post season. Between the Sabres and the Bills...you all know how it is, it's been rough and in today's world of instant gratification I want results. GO SABRES!
  15. This writer would beg to differ : http://therattrick.com/2015/10/15/florida-panthers-have-best-attendance-in-nhl/ That being said, I've been to a game or two in Florida a few years ago and the attendance/atmosphere was pathetic. I'm glad they're turning it around down there. I recall when the trade first happened a lot of Colorado fans came out of the woodwork to tell Sabres fans that we're gonna love McGinn. I'm really liking his game, guy is a true 3rd line player. On a different note, I wish I could just push the fast forward button and stop at the time we have Eichel as our number 1 center with O'Reilly on the wing and Reinhart as the #2 center.
  16. I loved Jagr as a penguin. When I was a young and stupid (6,7,8 years old?) I was more of a penguins fan than I was a Sabres fan. Remember watching Lemieux , Jagr, and Francis all playing together? I have more memories of my dad taking me and my brother down to Pittsburgh to see games in the Igloo than I do going to games at the Aud. My first Jersey I ever owned was a Jagr jersey and I think I still have it tucked away somewhere but I have no idea where. I didn't become a full-fledged Sabres fan until the first Ted Nolan era.
  17. My ideal situation tonight plays out with the Sabres scraping out a win and Jagr putting up multiple points. He's 46 points away from eclipsing Howe as the 3rd all time scorer in the NHL. Jagr played his first NHL game in 1990, 6 years before Eichel was even born.
  18. How long have you been waiting for a lay-up like that?
  19. I watched parts of the Edmonton game last night. They're defense is either scary bad or the stars forechecking is elite. It seemed everyone the puck was chipped in by the stars the oilers defence would get pressured and cough the puck up and Dallas would get a scoring chance or two. McDavid's goal was "meh". The oilers have scored three goals this season, an own goal from St Louis a puck that deflected off a stars player and McDavids tip. They are looking far worse off than the sabres.
