They key here is whether the player still qualified for LTIR. If Kucherov was healthy then he should have been returned to the line-up. Of course the Sabres and other teams get away with similar items like this throughout the season. We often see a player who has been in IR suddenly come back healthy as soon as there is another injury. How did that happen? Basically it happens because the team is keeping that other player on IR so they don't have to make adjustments to the roster. Injuries are not handled strictly in the NHL, it's that simple. Except, sometimes.

I don't want to get in the water because there might be a shark. Oh, you went in the water? I guess I can too. Or... if we're going to die from a side effect at least we'll die together. All I can hypothesize about it.
-
Around here? no matter what happens, disappointment happens.
-
Totally. I was wondering how long Trotz might continue to coach. Didn't realize he's only 58.. I had figured he would be north of 60, although not by much. I guess it could be a few more years... so then you wonder how long the associate coach hangs around.
-
And it makes you wonder if he'd take over for Trotz at some point...
-
Sure, but if you lived closer to Vancouver or Calgary their fans may likely do the same thing. Just like Bills fans will show up in another stadium and break all the tables at Staples and then chant like maniacs. 🙂

It could be that there are a lot of people that may have been exposed that it never impacted. Whether you consider them asymptomatic, having simply never gotten it, etc. How do you ever quantify that group? They're not going to the doctor because either they were never sick or not sick enough that it mattered. They were never tested because they just didn't care. Or perhaps, they simply just are not impacted at all. I don't even know if that's possible but I would suspect there's some level of exposure at which point the virus could take hold and that level varies for different people and that the level could be very high to the point one might almost consider them immune to it.

His offensive output is nothing compared to a lot of posters on here. Sorry.. some days one needs to do this just to keep oneself sane. 🙂

Are you assuming Okposo or Skinner would be willing to go to Seattle? (I am assuming those are the two horrible contracts you are referring to.)
-
I have. I see die hard fans there to cheer for their team. Perhaps I didn't have the same experience? Were they obnoxious? No more than the Buffalo fans around them.

Frankly, I'd just like to commend Ehlers for trying to fend off the morons who always want to fight right next to the helpless player on the ice. Falling on him, stepping on him with skates.. all kinds of things can go bad there. Ehlers has his arms out protecting Evans from what could be even worse.

Now we argue and debate for another 7 weeks....
-
Well played... I see what you did there.

Imagine being the person who has to write up what gets said for each potential pick spot for each team. How much fun that has to be... 🙂

I'd trade Skinner and Risto for Marner 🙂 Skinner might actually waive his NMC to go to Toronto. 🙂 Imagine.. Skinner being a regular season dud but a post-season stud and it making a difference in Toronto? Oh man.. I should not have started drinking so early.
-
I like Marner too, but I don't like very many players for $11M AAV. I think I like McDavid for that... and I am done.

People are arguing over many other things AND Johann freaking Larsson. I think the real takeaway here is that they are arguing.

I remember catching one of her first games. She wasn't very good and I think the twitterverse slammed NBC for using a female analyst (I know, I was SHOCKED too!). I didn't catch another game she did for awhile but it was later that season and at that point I noticed how much she had improved. Frankly, I've really enjoyed her work when I catch it. I'll take her analyst skills over the insanity that is Pierre... any day.

If the Sabres hit 20 years of frustrating seasons you'll find someone that will skyrocket up to the Josh Allen level. It's a good point. I'd also say that our unwillingness to take time to come to a decision plays into that. We need to process and compartmentalize every action within 5 minutes (or so it seems) when decisions and processes actually take a lot longer to occur. For someone like Kevin Adams, making decisions on the action of the team is his primary focus. He will spend countless hours, days, weeks, going over possibilities while handling the constant changes happening within the hockey spectrum. For fans, they are doing the same thing, but they are also looking at everything else happening around them, including their own jobs and lives, and then try to reach the same level of decision making Kevin Adams makes but doing so with 1/1000th of the time to invest and 1/100th of the information Adams has. People gotta go with the flow, and stay in their lane. It's all cool to discuss but commentary on here reaches feverish pitch faster than a Ferrari reaches 60 and then it's a straight NOS shot to the hyperbole.

Yeah. Hall played the odds. He got paid good money and had things really taken off then he was in a good position to keep making good money whether the Sabres offered him a contract or as an UFA. If not, he knew he would be traded and he could control where he wanted to go and potentially still be in a position to make good money. Once it was clear things weren't going to work it was easy for Hall to just wait for the trade. From the Sabres viewpoint it was always a stupid move and they handcuffed themselves.

Also posted by someone on Twitter.. 17 of the top 18 highest paid players in the league are out of the playoffs. I think things will change, the dominance had been from teams with older stars who had signed below the $10M AAV. Still, there's something to be said for doling out all that money into a few players, especially the way the Leafs have done it.

Sadly it's not just this fanbase. People are just negative in general these days. This place is pretty bad and even long time posters who don't have a track record of acting in a detrimental fashion have shown flashes of it. It is tiring.. I don't think people even realize how combative their interactions are these days. The Sabres off-season is months long but on here their entire history is rehashed almost hourly it seems. I'm about ready to go enjoy summer and come back in the fall.

Well.. this was a rather exceptional end to the day. Bring on June!

I'll have to admit I have not been downtown to hang around much.. but I've been to the Pittsburgh area many times for hockey. Duquesne Incline is a nice experience. Burgatory is an experience (now a local chain) North Shore Riverfront Park is a nice area, ate at The Foundry and had General Tso's Cauliflower, one of the best things I've ever eaten. Mindful Brewing Company.. south of Pittsburgh is a great location. Coraopolis is a quirky little town undergoing a conversion. It's near Robert Morris University, NW of Pittsburgh. It is home to Tootsie's.. a very tiny breakfast diner where I've had some incredible breakfast food like a Pierogi Omelette. I guess if you consider just Downtown Pittsburgh that's one thing. There are lots of things I don't like about Pittsburgh too, but I've definitely had some real good times there.
