    OT - AITAH?

Well.. some people can't eat bleu cheese, like me. That said, I don't use ranch on my wings. I will however use ranch on my Buffalo chicken finger salad. I use oil and mayo on my chicken finger sub.. because those need something. But ranch on wings.. it's okay to just have the hot sauce. Order mild if you can't take the heat.
  2. He's only going to look worse to people who put believe press conferences are 100% truthful and not meant to manipulate public opinion at worst or at best convey absolutely no meaning. Events happen all the time that run contrary to what was said before. You're digging for something that isn't there and putting way too much stock into a press conference.
  3. It's probably more than a bit of pain. Saying he was probable was probably just mind games.
  4. You should also add that he scores as well. Wilson brings offense and size, that's something you take a chance on. The worry about Wilson being suspended cannot be dismissed but players do clean up their game. The Bruins seem to be doing okay with Marchand.
  5. Dahlin played well most of the time. He had some dumbass turnovers and he led the team in penalty minutes. Being one of the best PK'ers on a team with a bad PK and putting yourself in the box is not a good thing. I wouldn't give him an A. A-.. I think that's fair. He needs to stay out of the penalty box though and if his turnovers were related to his insane long distance passing that would be one thing, but they weren't. I am sure that will get attacked.. but damn, an A- is a good grade.
  6. Sure, that's an option. Unless you are asked about them. Even if not, if you were considering trading them you would talk them up. I don't think your response really dismisses my point, if that was the intention.
  7. Stats are available for all to see. The stats will determine some other team's X of the player's trade value. Now, which action adds to X and which subtracts from X? The coach and GM speaking positively about a player The coach and GM speaking negatively about a player Do you really want them maligning those two in the end of season press conference that anyone can watch?
  8. Even with Greenway on the roster I would absolutely welcome they going after Tom Wilson (or someone like him). In my eyes Wilson is a faster, harder player to play against and scores more. Greenway is big but he does not use his body enough and he certainly hasn't shown an edge to his game yet.
  9. Why? The franchise had to play to his ego. Kyle Okposo doesn't seem to need that same treatment. It's not like they put a C on Okposo and he became a different person and a better leader.
  10. Those would be 3 very good additions to the team. Wilson brings some controversy but I think he's cut down on the actions that lead to suspensions. He still takes a good amount of penalties.. but in looking at the numbers Rasmus Dahlin took nearly as many this year as Wilson has in the past few seasons. And Wilson puts up points.. that cannot be overlooked.
  11. Which players is he standing in the way of? He's a 4th liner who can fill in spots up the lineup. But a 4th liner. And the 4th line is not where you want your young offensive minded prospects. Such as this one.. 19 year old Kulich will be just fine on the I-90 thruway squad next year. I think people have become accustomed to Buffalo needing to bring up every player with talent in the hopes that they'll help the team win more. I think it's time people get used to the fact that there's lots of talent already on the roster and more talent that won't make the transition as quickly because of it. This is what good drafting does for an organization. This is exactly what I think happens unless Okposo wants to go somewhere else to play. The organization does right by the player both rewarding the time spent in futility as well as getting him to 1,000 games. They can do so without impeding the progress of the franchise next year. And Olofsson will be gone. I have no doubt about that. I am convinced that Olofsson and UPL are packaged into a trade.
  12. He said point blank in the post-game interview he's done. I'm not sure the door was open at all.
  13. I don't mind Burke as some level of hockey involved person... but has he done anything for a hockey team's management group lately? The shake-up in Pittsburgh will be significant. I'm just waiting for someone here to suggest the Sabres sign Mike Sullivan when he become available... you know it's coming.
  14. I work from home. If my wife disagrees with me... But most of my co-workers are in college heavy markets so I hear about basketball and football... No one talks about hockey. All good by me. Any the only response to any Leafs fan is either 2004 or 1967. One being the last time they won a playoff series and the other being the last time they won a Cup. and yes.. most people have no idea what they are talking about.. they only regurgitate mindless chatter from others.
  15. First and foremost, it's a 2nd round pick. The third round will not officially begin until after this pick. By stating 3rd you are clearly trying to misrepresent the situation. If you'd like to use the exact number of the pick that would be good as well. Even if it is the last pick before the third round it's still NOT the third round. As for the rest you are insinuating that Buffalo would not have planned for an eventuality that an NCAA draft pick might not sign. I don't believe that for a moment. Each year a prospect says they would rather stay in college would only increase the risk. Anyone can point to not drafting more defense, but it doesn't mean its because they thought Ryan Johnson was the answer. Buffalo has top end defense covered. They need some mid-tier defenders and those are available every year. The only ripple effect is that the Amerks need some more D next year.. and I believe they already went and signed a few.
  16. Given his recent health issues I expect him to retire. If he doesn't he might try and stay and shape to be a late season signing to help some team. I don't expect a full season from him.
  17. I think it's one last chance for UPL to show what he has. Although I'm convinced he will get traded anyway. A Friday night game that means little in the standings versus an 80 degree night in April in Rochester. I don't think the Sabres are winning the battle for my schedule choice. Bring on the margaritas!
  18. Then you'll be happy to know they've gone away. The RR is an NHL wide initiative.. one and done. Although I like the white pants.. but to each their own.
  19. And if that happens.. great. He clearly did not want to be here and Adams only wants players who want to be here. No big loss. I think Fox is the most notable player who has gone through college unsigned so he could sign anywhere. Kevin Hayes did it.. he's good, but not great. Vesey just played his 500th game but we all know he's JAG. Sign or don't sign.. he's not moving the needle either way.
  20. I definitely don't agree. I also like to think I am pretty impartial on those things but one doesn't know until one is in that moment. I'd like to find out though. 🙂 To me the rule can be simplified to remove "distinct kicking motion" and instead basically focus on the concept that any motion of the leg towards the net other than a regular skating stride will be considered no goal. Both the Fasching goal and the Giroux goal would be disqualified at that point as they both used their legs to direct the puck at the net. It might not have been a "kick" but it was most certainly redirecting the puck with the leg in an effort to put the puck on net. I'm awake this morning and still quite happy for Anderson. The guy has earned so much respect in the league and while it's sad that it comes to an end for him it's also awesome that he's had a 20 year career and can go out knowing that he did it the right way.
  21. Ray said in the broadcast that an email came out and it was determined it was not a distinct kicking motion. That's the explanation from Toronto. I'll call as much BS as I can about it.. but clearly the Sabres should practicing using their skates to put pucks in the net. I would argue he was trying to kick it to his stick which would be a distinct kicking motion. NHL wants more goals.. that's how you get more goals.
  22. UPL will be traded, it's that simple. As far as the board being full of loud, bad, opinions... don't you put yourself in that group by giving your opinion?
  23. Very much so... the attacks tend to stand out much more.
  24. Devon Levi has a sample size of a handful of games. That's true for fans just as much as its true for other teams. He shows a ton of promise, but the trend is generally that it gets worse before it gets better. I give a little credit to the notion that the Sabres built a roster so that Levi would sign. He's signed. At this point the kid needs to really earn and this team needs the best competition it can get. They should absolutely go sign someone who can be a starting goaltender... if one is available. I see people who want to annoint Levi here but in other threads talk about how "nothing is a given for next season".. damn right. Nothing is a given. Go get another goalie.
  25. Now.. this is indisputable. I can't believe there's so much discourse over this. I can't believe we're still going around and around attacking each other over "what might have been". It's only what.. the 243rd thread this season that has evolved into this? Even if we could evaluate a single decision made we lack the macro view of the situation to know what lateral impacts would have happened if a move had been made. Just like we lack a view of the impacts of moves that were not made. You want to be mad they did not make the playoffs.. go nuts. You want to be okay they didn't make the playoffs.. go nuts. I just don't understand the need to attack each other over things. Especially those things that we clearly don't know enough about and as such are nothing more than pure speculation. Or maybe we're aren't attacking each other and I am just reading the situation wrong.
