  1. Talk about just throwing crap out there. Perhaps it might be best to not just label an entire party as being white and loving Elon Musk, especially since you do nothing to support that claim. So, you are against personal responsibility then? I think you might be missing the point. It's not about no government. It's about the proper size of government and government not restricting the way you choose to live your life. The most vulnerable should be looked after by those who want to look after them. No one should be forced to care for another person. By allowing people to freely form organizations that can achieve those goals without being bound by government bureaucracy and inefficiency it allows organizations to excel at what they do. As for children fighting to the death in cages... what the hell are you even talking about? If you are going to throw that around in here you should at least support your "precedent" with something. For the record, authoritarianism, as defined, is literally the opposite of what libertarians want. Authoritarianism defined: "the enforcement or advocacy of strict obedience to authority at the expense of personal freedom" Personal freedom is the underpinning of libertarianism. Do not tell me what to do. I will not tell you what to do. You do not harm me, I do not harm you. The most authoritarian governmental designs are the ones that force people to give up their money, their personal freedom, to work to make others better without asking the others to make themselves better. Please bring more to the conversation on this. Right now you've accused Libertarians of being white, slave drivers, who want children to fight in cages. None of the libertarians that I know are racist, some are black, and as far as I know none are holding underground fight clubs for children.
  2. Eleven will also be helping us keep our civility. I suspect we won't have to worry too much about that though.
  3. The delays could be players deciding they don't want to move. So many NMC/NTCs in players contracts on all the teams.
  4. Right now, somewhere in the White House, someone is saying... "hold my beer".
  5. Let's be real. The two people running for the other parties weren't exactly better specimens were they? I look at the people who make up the top of both the Democratic and Republican parties and I'd vote for nearly anyone who opposed them, regardless of the party.
  6. True. The general tendencies are the same. However, pending the wording of a question I might answer differently. But you are still Carter, not Frank. ?
  7. Sorry to hear this. On the bright side, they found it. If I could be so bold, it even looks like its a Canadian version, so with the exchange rate it's bound to be smaller and rather insignificant. Sincerely hope all goes well. Just had a good friend go through this. Thankfully it was minor and caught early. It was still a literal pain in the ass for many weeks after the surgery.
  8. I was aware of the feature. Found it by accident because my iPad Pro would force me to double press each thread to get into it. The first press brought up the gray arrow. That just appears on the desktop version. I never used it.
  9. As evidenced in the other thread.. I am very independent, middle of the road. I don't get why people only consider the Democratic or Republican parties when both have done smash up jobs of ruining the government. At what point do people finally accept there are 3rd party viewpoints that blend two sides together?
  10. In the chart I posted in the ROR thread.. or whatever.. Rodrigues' name popped into the top 5 Sabres in scoring. This was apparently not coincidentally when the team played its best hockey last year.
  11. I have no idea what you are referring to. Can you expand upon this? I suppose I could say that if you've seen #walkaway then it's a thing.. because you've seen it, it must exist. In fact by posting it, you've created it. So, yes, at some level, it is a thing. ?
  12. I understand that point. That said, if you blur the boundaries enough then you have to expect to become visibly unidentifiable. One should not be offended when someone cannot tell how someone identifies. One should be offended if they tell someone how they identify and the person gets it wrong. Generally I've found myself just saying "Look at that person" or using the non-specific but generally plural "they" to refer to someone. I have seen the group protectionism. That's what really kills me. What those kinds of people don't understand is that if you take that line of thinking "you aren't 100% us" to its logical end game then there is no "100% us" because at some point, we are different from each other. Over-classification is a problem everywhere and with everything.
  13. I did the isidewith.. which I believe i have done in the past... Not sure the best way to represent it.. but here goes. 56% - Libertarian 52% - Green 52% - Socialist 50% - Democratic 43% - Constitution 42% - Republican 41% - Women's Equality As for the other quiz...
  14. Man.. a great discussion. I honestly am so just let live that I don't even bother to think about these kinds of things. If I meet someone who tells me they are whatever they are then I'm good with that. I'll do my best to recognize them as they want to be recognized. I don't even know that I want to have a discussion about it. I was also never the guy to have the "guy" conversations about women and that crap. It's just not my business, period. If you tell me you want to be a woman or a man or that you like women or men, then so be it. Good to know.
  15. Get on it.... ?
  16. The return from the Lightning would have to be astronomical. The Senators will struggle enough losing Karlsson, but putting him in your own division will only add to the pain. What a mess they have created. The Lightning have a ton of players with NMC/NTC. Who in their right mind is going to WANT to go to Ottawa? This means they have to move players who are not protected. Kucherov has no protections and neither does JT Miller, who they just signed. If you total up the rest of the roster that is not protected it barely clears enough cap space for Karlsson. One would think it might include another team so that the player from the Lightning might be willing to waive their NTC/NMC.
  17. I'm fine with the current setup. I like the goal song. What I always missed was RJ's goal call replay. That was the best. Of course now he's not calling every game and you really need something iconic like RJ's calls... Dunleavy just wouldn't be the same.
  18. Here's how I would like this to operate. Whomever is selected to help admin the club will work by these rules: Moderation Guidelines What may be deleted - If you post anything that is extremely derogatory towards a forum member. If you post anything that is considered hate speech. If you post anything that is racist or uses racist terminology. If you use derogatory slang to refer to a group, movement, etc. What may be censored - Whatever the board already censors My personal belief is that we all live by our words. You write them, post them, you live by them. My encouragement is to make the posts useful and provide supporting material. It promotes discussion. Anyone can disagree without providing substance but it doesn't promote discussion and a forum, by its very nature, is a medium to promote discussion.
  19. I thought the Oval office was involved in everything. ? We could change the name if its important.

There's no such thing as an unmoderated world. That said, your concerns are noted. I will post in the politics "club" on what you can expect. If you don't like it... don't participate.
  21. Ditched? As you wrote that post you realize that Kane would have been gone now whether the GM wanted him to be gone or not right? As for ROR being traded, the results of that trade are not even close to being realized. However, you ignored the fact that two players came back in that deal both of whom can increase the scoring of the team. The optimism for me is that the players that are gone have been replaced adequately enough. The defense is improved and the goaltending as well. Kane was largely irrelevant to the team in January and February when they were playing their best hockey of the season. He was not even in the top 5 in scoring. O'Reilly was consistently in the top 5 but his highest was when Eichel was out injured. It's more the strict HTML coding that is using a paragraph tag which drops two lines as opposed to just the normal line break which drops to the next line.
  23. I think Baptiste would be snatched up by someone. Bailey less likely, but still possible. Players that don't get taken are usually older ones with higher cap hits. Pominville could be sent to Rochester with scarce a chance he'd be grabbed by someone. Just because the Sabres were last does not mean that their younger players are no good and couldn't crack the lineup. They were kept in Rochester intentionally. Many players are kept in a lower league until they have to be brought up. It provides GMs with roster flexibility to deal with the injuries that happen during the season.
