  1. Stafford went 0-3 in the playoffs with Detroit, who were never serious contenders, and asked to be traded at age 32 when the team was in full rebuild mode. Allen has gone 5-5 in the playoffs on a team that is a consistent Super Bowl contender and is only 28 on a team expected to continue to contend. I don't think the situations are similar at all. Come back in a few years and revisit it.
  2. I am in Lakewood, Colorado and we have gotten about 10 inches of extremely wet, heavy snow in the past 5 hours. It was rain this morning. Thursday was 59 degrees and sunny. Looks to keep coming down for another hour or two at least. I was planning on going to see the Univ. of Denver hockey game tonight but now, no way am I heading out on these roads.
  3. So after Thompson, Tuch, Dahlin, and Power who else would you suggest Adams unloads next? Trading for Patrick Kane and giving him a contract extension is really brilliant, btw.
  4. I think there is a (c) as well. That is a player not quite athletic enough or aware enough (a form of athleticism) to avoid injuries in the natural course of the sport they play. An example might be Tua Tagovailoa. He actually took martial arts classes and "learned how to fall" this off-season to help avoid injuries (it seemed to help). The opposite end of the scale is Josh Allen. Yes, he's built like a tank but also his innate athleticism and ability to anticipate hits and move his body in such a way as to avoid injury is also part of his incredible streak of no missed games despite all the hits he takes. In hockey I feel like Cale Makar has a bit of the Tua issue not in that he isn't a good enough athlete, but rather he plays with a recklessness at times that doesn't protect his body. Actually, playing with excessive recklessness might be (d) in the list of types of injury prone athletes.
  5. This is a funny question to ask. But the answer is that for the next couple years at least he’s worth one more pick than the best offer anyone would make for him.
  6. I was at the Avs-Caps game last night. Two things to pass on: 1) In the pre-game skate, when everyone was leaving, McKinnon stayed on the ice and had someone feed him one timers in the circle. He took about 10 in a row at 3/4 speed, then departed. Two of the three goals he scored in the 2nd period (in less than 7 minutes no less) were from this spot and were one timers from Rantanen. 2) Ovie is now like a large, strong, slow Victor Olofsson. Sad to see.
  7. Maybe, but he certainly has eaten a lot of contracts on the Bills side of the house. Also, the issue isn't the sunk cost, it's the incremental cost of a new coach vs. the value such a coach would bring compared to DG. But I'd fire him today if it were up to me. (Well, I might wait for the next atrocious loss, which is likely Saturday.)
  8. I hadn't watched a game in more than a week and thought I'd give this a shot. Holy hell this team sucks. Logging off for the night.
  9. Not watching this game. Just saw the score online and the predictability of it after two wins is why I never tuned in in the first place.
  10. This seems far fetched. Trade assets for a guy in order to waive him?
  11. Good point on Comrie. Now I do expect him to be moved for "Future Considerations". That and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
  12. Teams could have had Comrie. Jost, and Bryson for free so why would they have any value in a trade? They don’t.
  13. Krebs inexplicably passed up a shot from the slot to send a bad pass to Okposo, make a bad play and take a penalty.
