  1. I thought Ralph had a lot of praise for Taylor. I suppose it could be lip service, but why not say nothing instead if you don’t like the direction? After yesterday I’m skeptical it was about coaching philosophy.
  2. Regarding those bulleted points: 1. I don’t blame them for not trusting typical outside sources. It gave them Bylsma, Housley, and Botteril. Then again, they’ve probably asked the wrong outside sources. Wonder if the league has been playing them? 2. Regarding not wanting to give term to Eichel and Skinner, I’d love to hear Bott’s rationale. He did come with a cap guru rep. And it’s looking like he was right on Skinner. I won’t criticize that without hearing the reasoning behind it. 3. Yeah, I’d assume I’m getting negative evaluations if Adams was traveling with the team. The guy with the boss’s ear is not the guy you want to see watching you. 4. It will be interesting to see what AHL coaching candidates will sign up now. Have to think that a budgetary blood letting won’t attract the best and brightest.
  3. This is clearly NOT part of their plan.
  4. Maybe Casey indicated that was the direction he wanted to go. Or held over a barrel. Poor trade decisions can do that.
  5. Someone willing to provide cliff notes?
  6. I suspect we can kiss develop-by-winning goodbye in Rochester. Top AHL coaching candidates will go elsewhere because of these firings. Top FAs will go elsewhere without a commitment to winning. Our prospect pool isn’t enough talent to ice a winning team. It looks like Inky’s Friday nights will be spent elsewhere.
  7. Given the frequency that college kids go the full 4 yrs and choose free agency, this may have been JBotts play to prevent losing the kid in a couple years. I think that is the most likely scenario.
  8. It wasn’t that long ago Terry was bragging that we will spend to be better in areas that aren’t covered by the salary cap, so I would expect this.
  9. This one wins because it covers 2 bands.
  10. Well, he was on scout's radar as an elite pick that far back..... "Hey Tom. There is this tremendous pair of players approaching draft age. We don't have to pay out big contracts for impact players for too much longer. I've got this plan I've been toying with...."
  11. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
  12. He's the hatchet man for the organization. Hey Pi, you got that one wrong, too!
  13. How has this thread not been resurrected yet? Let's see those vote totals change now.
  14. I've not liked Jack in his first years. It's clearly not Jack right now though. The organization is dysfunctional.
  15. Ole Sugar Packets is back to haunt us. Next thing we are gonna hear is Terry whining about the gulls shitting on his yacht.
  16. Off to the politics thread.....
  17. I suppose we can now agree that Liger is at least as well qualified as whatever scouting staff they have. Youtube ain't hard to operate.
  18. I'll take it a step further. Our most popular posters are often the most combative here. This is who we are. It's not really arguable.
  19. Buffalo News has an interview with Ralph. He likes role players over talent.
  20. Have we heard yet what Ralph thinks of Simmonds? I think he was looking for more veteran toughness as well, no?
  21. I’ll read the whole thread later. My take after reading nothing....... another GM that will need to learn the job as he goes. Me no likey.
  22. My wife is getting tested now. Upper respiratory symptoms. Feels OK otherwise.
  23. What is the current state of the Sabrespace Echo Chamber? Is he still a bad pick, or are we coming around?
  24. I had to go to Home Depot this AM to get a project done at home. We’ll be Locked down again. The state relaxes standards and social distancing goes right out the window. I swear the people have the attention span of a hyper active dog. Squirrel!
  25. I’ll never understand the abuse we hand out to the sports reporters that cover our teams.
